I agree that `well and Cluj are far more important but I will take a brief interest in Arsenal when KT makes his debut.

  2. Boli hunted after a few games.Great on Saturday, poor tonight.Tonight he was not on his own.But the problem is,we have so many 6 game experts, how the hell cana player get timeto settle in.Boli was thrown in.Compare that to Julien.3 weeks left in the window. We will fill the gaps.On to Saturday.

  3. Well done Celtic, lets focus on a good result by the guys actually wearing the jersey.

I’m afraid I am a bit short in the good wishes dept.

At my age I should be immune to the Catholic, badge kissing Celtic supporters, who depart with little consideration for people who have supported them,Home and Away on a yearly income equivalent to a weeks wages for the player.MoJo,Brendan Rogers,John McGinn now KT.

What I would like to know was the player pushed,or did he declare he wanted out, that way we can at least establish why Celtic have lost their megaphone brandishing LB.

Speak up, as someone let the fans down and I would like to know who.

PS. Never seen that coming, really let down.

An excellent result, but a Curate’s egg of a performance which I watched courtesy of Valencia CSC at St Patrick’s Irish pub…

Eddy looks a cut above. We had a threat going forward and Jamesy scored a great goal.

We played much more direct and missed out our class players in midfield.

Broony and Elhamed had very good performances, as did big Ajer.

Jozo is a good player but made of chocolate.

Boli seems a lovely lad, with huge enthusiasm and he did make some decent forward passes. But he gives me the fear. He has no positional discipline, weak concentration and a terrible habit of giving the ball away cheaply, often in very bad areas. He has some obvious raw ability, but he needs some serious coaching if he’s going to replace KT.

On which subject I want to say all the best to the lad. It’s the right time for him to make the step, it’s good money for us and I doubt KT asked for the move, the club will have told him.

This is a test for Lawwell. We’re rolling in it on the back of Dembele, VVD, Rodgers, the clear out and now KT. We’re richer, but weaker. Certainly at left back. What will he do with all that purchasing power? Anything?

  5. NORRIEM

Written into his last contract.£25 million clause.Up to KT if the figure was met.Not selling anyone short. They will not pay the right money for a player from the SPFL.Look at the trouble we had with Arsenal. Its a record Scottish transfer.

  6. Saw some of the twitter comments about Tierney being a rat and a cheat. What total nonsense! Anyone with any sense of objectivity would get the sense that Tierney’s personal progress stalled last season. It’s a sense of how good he is and how much upside he has that someone bids £25 million and smashes the Scottish and Celtic transfer record. Nobody on this site loves an attacking wing back more than me. I’ve banged on enough Didier Agathe all the way back since 2004 on here to see how much I’ll miss seeing him in the hoops but your personal achievements in terms of how good you could become as a player takes precedence every time for me. Christiano Ronaldo is the classic example of a player who still isn’t satisfied even after nearly 10 years of scoring more than a goal a game for Madrid. He still required a new harder challenge to write his name in history. Good luck to Kieran Tierney and hope his development curve move on the up again and we’ll soon see his name attached to even more ridiculous price tags, a tag that would make even Andy Carroll and Harry Maguire blush.

    HOT SMOKED

I would never write off a player after only a few games but I thought Boli was very poor tonight . He has looked ok in the one or two previous appearances but he was under pressure tonight and did not handle it well.

Domestically , the only real pressure games will be v Sevco but from here on in all Euro games will be pressure games and we need players who can handle that.

Time will tell if Boli can but signs so far are not promising . I would see him as a back up.

  8. Superb result for Celtic away against the Romanian Champions.

Scott Brown marshalled his side to a worthy draw from central midfield, with a vital away goal, that seemed to bypass Daryl Currie and Chris Sutton in the commentary box, and at the end, you could have been forgiven for thinking Celtic had just dropped two points, away at Hamilton.

Instead Celtic are a game an a half away from the CL and could even afford to leave top players in Scotland, or on the bench in readiness to finish the job, at Celtic Park. The notorious card happy Serbian referee whom, if given the chance would have ruined the game, for both sides, managed four cautions in the first forty five.

James Forrest was immense for 90 minutes playing off his natural wing, where he thrives home and away, centre back or full back Hatem Abd Elhamed has the legs, and wins the with a knockout in the fight between £3.5M full back and a £1.6M full back?

The CL route for Celtic, is now almost totally taken out of our hands by fraud ridden UEFA and if we make it, we’ll have had to beat Estonian, Bosnian, Romanian, and Czech champions all in the pursuit of the group vaults of money, and the cast iron grip, around the beautiful game.

Gordon, Rogic, Kouassi, Sinclair, Griffiths, Shved, Arzani, Bayo, Henderson, Ralston and Johnston didn’t feature and we have our own pots of gold some of which must surely be able to find its way into Neil Lennon’s new regime, that keeps Celtic Park filled with 60,000.

    M.O.M Scott Brown

  9. We wish KT all the very best for the future, the Bhoy gave everything to us while he was here, but just like KT we move on. We have lost many great players through the years, but it hopefully makes space for other great players to come and flourish at our great Club.

  10. Re KT – like wot Jobo and Norrie said.

I loved him but he’s now dead to me and the Arse are gash.

  11. THELURKINTIM,

Naw it isny.Loads were wanting to hunt Calmac,Jamesy, etc.Players need a chance.New country, new culture, new teamates,no time to bond straight in.Big Hamedi had a great game tonight after a wee shaky start. If he is poor his next game the knives will be out.You know thats the way it is with many.

  12. Greenwells Glory on

    Hi Ghuys, Salve Salve ;-

Team did well tonight, although not great, that team were no mugs. Very hard working organised and with a simple game plan I thought Ryan Christy toiled a bit tonight but he did not let his head go down. Lewis Morgan tried hard but he did not seem comfortable taking his man on and as for Boli, well let’s just hope he is a work in progress. Although I am not Lenny’s biggest fan, I have to say I think he is better for us in Europe than Brendan Rodgers so I wish him all the best.

Keiran , Ah Keiran if the news is true then I am very sorry to hear it but like many others I wish him all the best and hope that come the end of the season he proves to be the best full back in that league.

I have always thought that with football being an itinerant profession, that it is a bad move to stay all your carreer with one club. Like many on here I also hope that at some point in the future he will play for Celtic again.

  13. Go tell the Spartim on

Surely your in sports to win? Considering James Forrest is an easy escape goat all the time he should be cut a bit more slack, been here for ten years and no intention of leaving, even Lustig served us well and wanted to continue so I wish you well KT, I’ll remember you once played for Celtic.

Now spend that money …………. please

Tonight’s result was the most important not selling players that wish to leave.

    Bring on murderwell

  14. Scrub my last….I see an onslaught….we,re still in playoff shite…sed to ma mate…how many tournys are we missing ’cause of these qualifiers

  15. If you want to blame anyone for KT leaving, it’s Peter Lawwell, he could easily have said he’s not for sale, simples.

  16. I’m afraid Lewis Morgan should be know where near a Celtic Jersey. The boy just isn’t good enough. Also thought Ryan Christie was a bit of a headless chicken

The centre half at right back was very good

  17. mullet and co 2 on

Still think there will be a twist in the transfer tale tomorrow.

Can we get another centre half who isn’t a right back to play left back from a country rated 98th? El

Hamed looked solid. Boli not so much.

Listen closely to Sutton – he tells you who Lennon doesn’t fancy.

Brown, Christie, Ajer, Eddy, Forrest, El Hamed all very good. Morgan would be a suitable replacement for Christie when Celtic sell him.

Centre back, Centre mid and centre forward

  18. HeknowsWHOknows on

So a draw against the Romanians. Home tie should be a formality.

However my biggest diaaapointment since Henrik left is the news that Tierney is a done deal. I also feel that our NFL has less influence than what I had assumed a manager should have. I suppose Peter is happy with the “yes boss” mentality.

  19. Well that’s two potential future captains (SA and KT) we have sold. I hope we invest wisely and quickly. HH

  20. For the record,Boli was poor tonight. The goal they scored was a wonderful through ball that even KT would not have cleared. He needs time.Loads of good points a few bad ones.Early days.

Some real shocks in the other games.Basel in big trouble, and not on their own.Great result for us.

  21. St Tams

” Celtic survived a nervy night as they returned to Glasgow with an away goal and a draw from their Champions League qualifier with CFR Cluj.”

  25. Is it impossible for some fans to realise KT wanted to go.Not up to Celtic. We done well to hold out for the full amount.
