  1. i believe robertson at liverpool is now valued at around £70m to £80m.

i don’t think there is much to choose between him and KT.

  2. Cluj appeared to run out of steam towards the end. I think we will have too much for them at CP.

In regard to KT transit to London, I personally hope his flight was cancelled and he’s missed his doctors appointment. Heel have to wait to January at least surely for his rebooked appontment?

    Selfishcsc

  4. I have only seen a few mins of Shved, from those few mins he is a million miles better than Morgan, composure is a gift, hopefully our manager will come to the same conclusion, as for Bolingoli, there is no words, I hope whoever decided to sign him is no longer at the club, but I fear he is.

Would have bitten your hand off for a scoring draw before kick off so.

  5. Btw classic PL burying the KT news during the game. As i said in the past, you have to respect the man. What he can get away is admirable even if i find it galling at times.

  6. Go tell the Spartim on

    Maybe KT booked with BA

We move on and support those that want to be there and those playing for a move

“The champions have strengthened ahead of the new season” says Hayley on Sky sports news .

Sadly , she was talking about Man City and not Celtic.

  8. You are an idiot if you dont think leaving Celtic will be very hard emotionally on Tierney

I think he will he will be back at some point in the future

Why does everyone leave the transfers to last minute.com (must be the wages the clubs don’t want to pay??

I hope Peter and his puppet have a feckin good plan.

Like i said earlier, considering Boli’s performance, Lawell made a bit of a howler with that bit of timing lol

  11. Well we have an official escaped goat. Welcome to Celtic Boli, we are the best supporters in the world.

Come on son , not a great display tonight , you can & will do a lot better.

Looking forward to seeing you make people eat their words.

The Israeli’s legs look good enough to fill the boots of the legendary Swede.

At least for 70 minutes, which I hope will get longer with game exposure.

However until he waltzes through a Hun defence to score a great goal or dons a policeman’s hat, questions will remain about his legs.

Who needs a plan? Peter and his Board colleagues are part of the footballing establishment in Scotland. The mainstream Media and the various Celtic supporters Clubs and Associations are bought and paid for.

What part of his performance inspired confidence in him or whomever bought him?

Ni ni y’all! Big week ahead. Cluj won’t be too disappointed after tonight. They’ll know they’re just a breakaway goal away from the chance at petrescu heaven. Mind you , so are we! Lennie Lennie Lennie.

    A demain!

    Hankie joy,

FYI ~ been here from the start however due to relocation my moniker was changed.

  17. Lol bravo some of you, bravo.

You make me sound measured and calm. And tonight, I actually feel measured and calm.

In the real world, my team got a very big result tonight. If we’re selling a player who hasn’t played fit for almost a year and getting £25 million for him, well my heart doesn’t sink. I’m also not writing off a player who’s come to a foriegn land, to play in a team he doesn’t yet know, in a system he’s just learning and at a time when his place in the team has been under a CONSTANT cloud of speculation … and still is.

In my view, those writing him off are hysterical lunatics who need to sort themselves out.

To read some of the blogs tonight, we’re spiralling into crisis. One actually “fears for the club.”

What arrant nonsense this all is.

I’ve gone from think Lennon might be a disaster – not a bad appointment but a disaster – to admitting to being very impressed by how this is panning out … and it wasn’t even what happened on the pitch but his conduct and defence of the club at every turn off of it that finally put me in the pro camp.

Lawwell has authorised the spending of proper money so far. Proper by the standards of Scotland. Lennon talked about wanting a minimum of three or four more players, and tonight that number is between five and seven. I expect a second right back and a left back. I expect a central midfielder and a left sided one. I expect the striker Lennon says was his priority.

There is no excuse for not giving him those things and there never was. I think he’d have got most, if not all of that, even if Tierney had stayed, albiet with a few loans thrown in.

Tomorrow the English window shuts, which certainly is good news for us in more ways than one. Forget any other high earner leaving the club at this point … the outgoings are just about complete. And nobody should suggest Lennon is being sold down the river here, it isn’t true.

On Tierney, Arsenal have met the contract clause. That takes it out of Celtic’s hands, and that’s a struggle for some people to believe. But it remains true. Only the player will decide his future now, and by all accounts he has. So without being too hard on him I will say that he would have been a rich man either way. For sure I will not blame the club, who had no choice in this at all.

Time will tell how much of the money Lennon gets, but those of you who batted hardest for his appointment need now to trust that he isn’t a yes man and will demand, and get, what he requires. I actually do believe that he’s a strong enough character … and I know something for a fact.

Our board is well aware of what’s at stake here and know the consequences of failure. I do not believe they will gamble and to not give Lennon a sizeable amount to spend on top of what he has already would be the gamble to end them all.

For once I’m going to put aside my own reservations and have some faith that there IS a plan and that it’s well in motion. For the rest of it, I’m going to enjoy a good result on a good nights work.

  18. Corkcelt

    You’ll be waiting a while.

This is now 3 European games where he has consistently given the ball away on numerous occasions, the other time he was subbed after 30 mins looking very shaky.

We simply can not carry someone who fails to complete the basics, we will suffer and already have, he also cost us against Sarajevo.

We’ve conceded 3 goals and he has been culpable for 2, but its his cheap surrender of possession that will kill us. HH

  19. glendalystonsils on

Don’t panic Bhoys . All we have to do is go out and buy a left back as good as Keiran Teirney for a fraction of the price Arsenal paid!

  20. Well done Celtic … half time work to be done

BR in Athens v NL in Cluj who would win that fight ?

David17 get back to TheTimReaper moniker … don’t care if you go to the games or not Peter Lawell at least enjoys being a Celtic fan

  21. Why did sutton put down bolingoli all night, disappear then come back to say teirney had gone.

Sutton is not any sort of a man. He is a thorn in the side of our club and the bigots in our support don’t realise it because he will give it to the hun as well as undermine us.

He left commentary in the last 15mins of the Cluj game to follow orders. After setting up an anti bolingoli commentary.

And the people who hope to profit from this do not have celtic at heart.

As a bankrupt Sutton has more in common with Sevco than us. Not a nice man!!

  22. Vale Bhoy, Boli did not play well tonight. He has played at the top level in Belgium & Austria over past few years. He has come to a new Club, a new Country. He is trying to impress, probably trying too hard.

I can’t say for certain that he will be a success at Celtic and you cannot say for certain that he will be a total failure.

All am saying is give the bhoy a chance, if 9 or 10 games in and he is showing very little, well fine, give him pelters if you want,

In the meantime give him a break.

  23. QF

Sutton put him down all night because he’s a shite defender.

All he had to do was step up an the Cluj forward was offside.

He didn’t because he’s a shite defender and never a proper left back.

When KT goes we have nothing at left back.

    It’s not that difficult.

  24. bolingoli played the ball off the line and sutton slagged him off.

I’m sad that self interest can. e so easily fulfilled!!

  25. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Well done tonight Celts.

Not a bad performance but we didn’t do enough to expose their lack of speed and fitness in midfield.

Still a bit to do next week but am reasonably confident.

Re: KT, a player carrying an injury has still to pass a medical so we shouldn’t do a Motherwell and count the lolly too early.

If he does leave, it will be with my best wishes.

A great lad and a good servant to the club.

Watch him go in season 20-21.

    Hail hail

  26. balornock bhoy on

Always sad to see good players leave our club however……..

if it was between losing KT or let’s say Calmac or big Kris then losing KT is more palatable to me.

£25 million is about as much as we were ever going to get i expect so to be offered it now when he hasn’t played much recently is is still injured is a decent deal.

Worth remembering that the player cannot be sold against his wishes so if, as predicted, KT is away then let’s not kid ourselves he was forced out. He can still say no to Arsenal and stay for as long as he wants.

Like others have said, if he goes, then i wish him well but there will be no looking for Arsenal scores or anything like that.
