CONFIRMED: EDOUARD MISSING, LAXALT, WELSH IN

1

NEIL LENNON will give a debut to loan Bhoy Diego Laxalt and only the second appearance of his Celtic career to Stepen Welsh against Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox visitors side this afternoon.

The Uruguayan, who agreed a season-long loan from AC Milan before the transfer deadline, comes in at left-back with Greg Taylor dropping to the substitutes’ bench.

Welsh, who took his bow in the 4-1 win over Hamilton Accies last season, also gets the nod from the Hoops gaffer.

There is no place for Odsonne Edouard who only returned to Scotland yesterday after testing positive for Covid-19 while on duty with the France Under-21 international squad in Paris 11 days ago.

Polish hitman Patryk Klimala, who scored the second goal against St Johnstone in Perth after Leigh Griffiths had opened the scoring a couple of weeks ago, leads the line with the Scotland international among the stand-by group.

TEAM: Barkas; Welsh, Duffy, Ajer, Laxalt; Brown, McGregor; Frimpong, Ntcham, Elyounoussi; Klimala. Subs: Bain, Taylor, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Turnbull, Rogic, Henderson, Ralston.
