As ernie & others have said, I would not normally be worried were the worst to happen and we lose the opening fixture at our place.
But in a year where the league could be shortened (I still hope that a minimum of 22 games has to be achieved for fairness) it becomes a bit more influential rather than decisive.
Lat year, they were a squad that were ompetitive for the first half , and it took the hard slog of January and February wins to knock them out of it.
They are a direct attacking team and I reckon will attempt to impose their dominance in the opening 20 minutes. If we have not conceded by then, my confidence will grow.
Neil has made an interesting selection, to ue Elyounoussi as the support striker. While this weakens us u front, it adds a bit more to the midfield to perhaps survive the opening period. With a possible back 3 in play, unless Welsh is right back, and 3 defensive debutants in this fixture (Duffy, Laxalt & Welsh), this might be a wise move to draw their sting.
I will not be fully confident of winning until that sting is drawn and Neil is ready to unleash a front 2. I can see Kilimala running himself into the ground and being replaced by Ajeti and the Griff, around the hour mark.
Final caveat is that Duffy and Laxalt give the ref nothing to flourish the red card. We are not good enough to win comfortably with 10. Let Morelos, Jack or Arfield get the first red- that I would laugh at.
Isn’t it great to be above ground on days like this?
When I look at the team lines. I really start to worry. Hope Iam wrong

no need to be doubting the starting 11 , get behind the bhoys , plenty of time for analysis after the game.

Half way through October and we still can’t field a settled team..
Has there been a game where the same line up played in consecutive games?
An Dún on
I named the Sevco team last week. They’re approach and set up is always the same for these games. If we score first they’re goosed. They’re very one dimensional.

I’d love, LOVE to see a touchline punch-up with The Fat Kolumbian Kris Boyd………….
….a nice slo- mo of the Scouse Ned, nuttin’ Fat Charlie would just be sooooo-perb.
They’re playing a front 3 of Barker, Morelos and Kent.
We won’t miss Jullien against two speedy wingers- Stephen Welsh is faster than Chris.

Not happy with the front 2.Elyanoussi has never really kicked a ball against them.Paddy,OK,but with an out and out striker with him.Ajeti can hold the ball up,Griff is a menace.Cant understand why strikers on the bench.
Hope to God I am wrong.

If things don’t go well today I for one won’t be in Neil’s case.
Left with little options today, what a day to turn the scrum over

I reckon both Ajeti and Griffiths can’t be 100% fit.

SFTBs,
Problem with having a great bench,is game could be lost by then.Griff Ajeti should have started. Can always use the subs for them later .

Subs: Bain, Taylor, Ralston, Soro, Henderson, Turnbull, Rogic, Griffiths, Ajeti,
MON THE HOOPS 🇮🇪🍀💚
Hoping the Bhoy Welsh does very well today.

Surprised Eddy didn’t make the bench.
we play , we win
I remember in the early 60 worrying about having to face the Prime Minister in the Rangers line up.
I doubt the First Minister will have an influence on this result
2:0 to Celtic
Not the greatest lineup, don’t think Klimala suits playing up top on his own (to be fair none of our strikers suit playing that position).
C’MON paddy bhoy let the people sing.
About time Celtic find out who is leaking these selections out, that was in media land this morning.
Need the whole team to work hard and press from the front no passengers today, good luck bhoys

Does it matter?
Does it give the opponents a tactical advantage?
That might be assuming more tactical nous all round than is justified.
Patryck can finish, no doubt about that, need to create chances for him though.
Celtic to win by a couple of goals!
Two asks.
A win. Morelos not to score, just cause it’s funny.
Only a fool would predict the outcome of a Celtic v Rangers game. So I’ll go for 3-1.
We are severely weakened and they are full strength- what better day to roll them over.
Not overly confident sadly but would be extra sweet – don’t leave anything out there Celtic

An own goal by Morelos would be even better.
The great thing is we have players on the bench who can influence this game – Griff, Ajeti, Turnbull and Rogic.
They have nothing. Jack and Aribo are injured so it’ likely to be Hagi & Itten that they bring on. That’s seriously unimpressive
Paddy will score in the first five minutes
We can all relax then
SkySprtsNews………….
has it all Sevco and A. Walker ( Sp?) has tippped the Scouse Ned…………..
Wonder who Shortie will be supportin’?
Would have loved to see Eddy on the bench but hey, ho.
A draw today given our absentees is a good result. If we win today it’s a superb 3 points.
