CONFIRMED: GRIFFITHS, SORO IN

1

LEIGH GRIFFITHS, one of Celtic’s goal heroes in the Scottish Cup Final penalty-kick shoot-out triumph over Hearts on Sunday, will partner Odsonne Edouard in attack against Ross County at Parkhead this evening.

All-action Ivorian anchorman Ismaila Soro takes over from injured skipper Scott Brown in midfield after his substitute’s appearance for the 35-year-old onfield leader who limped off with a groin strain at the start of the second period of added-on time.

Kristoffer Ajer, who thumped in the winning penalty-kick, moves in from his right-back slot to take over from Shane Duffy, who also has a fitness problem, to play alongside Christopher Jullien in central defence.

Rookie netminder Conor Hazard, who saved two efforts in the showdown, keeps his place for only his fourth appearance and Neil Lennon also gives the nod to Jeremie Frimpong and Diego Laxalt as the wing-backs.

Greg Taylor, who started against the Edinburgh club at Hampden, drops to the substitutes’ bench as does Mohamed Elyounoussi.

TEAM: Hazard; Frimpong, Ajer, Jullien, Laxalt; Soro, Turnbull, McGregor, Christie; Edouard, Griffiths. Subs: Barkas, Taylor, Bitton, Ajeti, Klimala, Rogic, Johnston, Ntcham, Elyounoussi.
