KIERAN TIERNEY is back in the Celtic line-up to face Motherwell at Parkhead this afternoon – the left-back’s first appearance for over TWO MONTHS.

The 21-year-old Scotland international last featured in the side that lost 2-1 to RB Salzburg in the Europa League Group B encounter in Glasgow on December 13 before his lengthy lay-off with a persistent hip injury.

However, manager Brendan Rodgers brought the defender back and also handing him the captain’s armband to mark the occasion to lead the team in the absence of the suspended Scott Brown, sent off for his celebrations after scoring the winner against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park a week ago.

Scott Sinclair, Nir Bitton, Odsonne Edouard and Ewan Henderson all come into the team that lost 1-0 in unfortunate circumstances against Valencia in the Europa League on Thursday night.

TEAM: Bain; Toljan, Boyata, Ajer, Tierney; Bitton, Henderson; Forrest, Christie, Sinclair; Edouard. Subs: Gordon, Hendry, Hayes, Lustig, Burke, Weah, Johnston
