Contrasting Christie when he’s moved right

433

That’s five consecutive wins after the post-isolation debacle in January but Aberdeen have never come closer to scoring in their six games without a goal than at Celtic Park last night.  The game was decided by the excellent 30-yard strike from David Turnbull that found the corner of the net and the almost-as-good shot from Aberdeen’s Kamberi that struck the post.

Celtic mastered the opening 30 minutes as Aberdeen were content to sit off, but there was no fluidity to our passing from the moment the visitors pressed.  This run of wins is as much as we can ask of the team right now, but it was far from reassuring.

I don’t think I have seen as big a contrast in a player’s performance when he switches positions than that of Ryan Christie, who looks like a £20m player in the No. 10 role and appears anonymous on the right.  For a whole raft of reasons, it is right to retain David Turnbull in the 10 role, but Ryan needs to do his work in the middle of the field.  When he stops deputising for injured James Forrest he should be cover for Turnbull or Neil needs to find him a deeper role.

We have general waste one week, recycle(grey) the next. The snow meant the General waste bins were not collected. Yesterday, the grey were collected and next week the general waste. The Council told me that we can put extra bags out next week as four weeks will have elapsed since they were last emptied.

Hope that helps but I don`t expect any prizes for most exciting post of the day.

  13. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Morning all.

Just read the CQN Jullien article.

    Don’t really get the fuss?

    He’s French?

He’s injured and out for the season?

Why wouldn’t he head home, rehabilitate in an environment he knows well and then come back for pre-season?

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

  14. “Back for pre-season?”

Please no! Nice guy, poor centre-back. Welsh is more reliable by far…

  15. Jullien needs to play in a ‘nice’ league where forwards play ‘nice’ and don’t bully the centre-backs.

    Unfortunately, it isn’t in Scotland…

and someone had a good idea…let’s bring in a bruiser to help Jullien. And so, Shane Duffy arrived and things went from bad to badder…add to that two weakish full-backs and bob’s yer auntie…

No wonder we lost the league…

  16. Bhoy From The Boyne on

A sense of frustration on here last night on Sevco’s win and general EL progress.

Celtic has little influence on their European progress. They have bankrolled their European progress on debt without ever winning anything domestically yet. Uber critics could say Celtic should have called out debt spending and lobbied for domestic FFP regulations. Who is to say the club didn’t lobby in the background.

Allowing them a highly likely run at CL qualification next season is another matter.

  17. Disappointed with the feedback from the meeting between the CT and the Board – but not at all surprised. As well as “male, pale and stale”, undoubtedly in complete denial. I really do despair for the short term. The new CEO has indeed a poisoned chalice to contend with.

    HH

  18. ………and lets hope the fans groups – Bridgeton Rocket Launchers CSC / Celtic Trust CSC etc all pull in the same direction for the betterment of the Club!

  19. Bhoy From The Boyne on

The idea that Julian cannot handle big aggressive bullying centre forwards is a myth.

Celtic by numbers, the Cynics and Huddle breakdown fan pods analysed this theory using data analysis. It was shown not to be accurate of an extended period.

1 or 2 games against an all fouling Lyndon Dykes should never dictate transfer policy to the extent that somebody thought a non ball playing Shane Duffy type CB was the answer for a possession dominant team.

A very worrying episode that raises serious questions on our recruitment strategy.

So the scientists say they have evidence of water on Mars but are disappointed it was only in bottled form..

  21. Great to see the interest in the Mars landing last night. The Perseverance rover has a disc attached to it’s side inscribed with names. NASA provided the opportunity last year for anyone to submit a name for inclusion. My daughter, who is being brought up in the Way of the Famous Glasgow Celtic, has her name on that disc. So the Red Planet now has a little bit of Celtic wandering around, like a mechanical Samaras, with or without the ball.

    All together now:

🎵 Mars is Green and White 🎶

  22. Earlier this morning, when I was half-awake, I think Radio Scotland was reporting that Jack Ross had taken our First Minister to task for saying that Scottish football had to put it’s house in order. It was Rangers who had stepped out of line. Doubt this will be highlighted by the SMSM or our MSPs.

  23. I was surprised with the severity of the Julien injury, when it occurred I expected him to play on as it appeared to me it was the shin guard area which hit the post.

I think he downed tools, like a big girl, when Duffy arrived, caused us damage, and now recognises he was partly responsible for our form downturn and is doing sympathy vote photos sitting in snow.Give us peace.

I am not too fussed whether I see him again or not.

  24. Big Jimmy im up for that.

My sides been killing me and I thought it was the auld Liver, but I had also stopped my meds for my Arthritis and I have not been sleeping because of the pain in all my joints so I had to take 1 of my Arthritis meds this morning and I feel a million dollars and no pain in ma side. Got my once a year Liver scan on Tuesday so that will let me know what’s what.

Stopped the bevvy 2 weeks ago and been eating like a feckin Rabbit as well and lost a few pounds so as I am off on Monday im having a wee sherbert for the game on Sunday.

Anyway I digress count me in for the mini Hoot.
