Contrasting Christie when he’s moved right

433

That’s five consecutive wins after the post-isolation debacle in January but Aberdeen have never come closer to scoring in their six games without a goal than at Celtic Park last night.  The game was decided by the excellent 30-yard strike from David Turnbull that found the corner of the net and the almost-as-good shot from Aberdeen’s Kamberi that struck the post.

Celtic mastered the opening 30 minutes as Aberdeen were content to sit off, but there was no fluidity to our passing from the moment the visitors pressed.  This run of wins is as much as we can ask of the team right now, but it was far from reassuring.

I don’t think I have seen as big a contrast in a player’s performance when he switches positions than that of Ryan Christie, who looks like a £20m player in the No. 10 role and appears anonymous on the right.  For a whole raft of reasons, it is right to retain David Turnbull in the 10 role, but Ryan needs to do his work in the middle of the field.  When he stops deputising for injured James Forrest he should be cover for Turnbull or Neil needs to find him a deeper role.

I had a rover 213 back in the day.

An Alan partridge type told me I’d made a wise choice as it had a Honda engine as opposed to the 215s British Leyland engine.

    Historic useless information r us

I project managed some new engine test beds at Longbridge – the K engine was well engineered and an excellent engine.

    The company was a disaster.

The Allegro tv advert was the best

    “Allegro’s got room

    Miles and miles of room

    Room for long legs

And plenty of room for thighs”

    You’re singing it now

    Right?

  9. was a penalty according to VAR – Celtic players get held, pushed, pulled at corner kicks and no penalty has ever been given.

  10. It was a penalty OK . I could tell by the sound of glee amongst the commentators. Ah well. It was good fun while it lasted. Come on the Royals !

  11. Thats it,back to the Arsenal game.Listening to this commentary,is only marginally worse than listening to the Bargeddie Loyal Flute Band.

Many a good pint was wasted throwing it at them as they passed Phil Coles.

  12. Apparently, the penalty was scored in the 6th minute of 4 added on for extra time!!

    RM going absolutely tonto.

    Which is nice.

  13. 3-2 Antwerp – couple rangers players getting booked – this is proper refereeing rather than this “points in the bag retrospective Scottish kak”

  14. Why is it when pro golfers hit their ball into the middle of trees……they always end up with a clear shot to the green?

It NEVER happens in real life
