Contrasting Christie when he’s moved right

433

That’s five consecutive wins after the post-isolation debacle in January but Aberdeen have never come closer to scoring in their six games without a goal than at Celtic Park last night.  The game was decided by the excellent 30-yard strike from David Turnbull that found the corner of the net and the almost-as-good shot from Aberdeen’s Kamberi that struck the post.

Celtic mastered the opening 30 minutes as Aberdeen were content to sit off, but there was no fluidity to our passing from the moment the visitors pressed.  This run of wins is as much as we can ask of the team right now, but it was far from reassuring.

I don’t think I have seen as big a contrast in a player’s performance when he switches positions than that of Ryan Christie, who looks like a £20m player in the No. 10 role and appears anonymous on the right.  For a whole raft of reasons, it is right to retain David Turnbull in the 10 role, but Ryan needs to do his work in the middle of the field.  When he stops deputising for injured James Forrest he should be cover for Turnbull or Neil needs to find him a deeper role.

    Bunch of spurious nonsense there.

Jullien is not responsible for our downturn, although his absence from the team coinciding with our poor form may evidence that Jullien is a decent player.

Our poor form sits at the door of NL and the coaching team. Not Covid or lack of fans or injuries or the SPFL.

Which CBs in the post MON era would you take over Jullien?

I’m afraid thats just wrong, in the Ross County game he was injured by Duffy with a knee in the back and struggled for the rest of the game, to say he was not injured is just not true.

Great news. I hope your daughter was watching NASA live yesterday from around 7pm – 9pm, because if so she she cannot have failed to have been impressed or inspired even with the number of women involved in the broadcast and the key roles they played in the project.

  6. I have no time for sick note players we’ve had more than our share of them in the recent past, some recent examples being Johnson, Rogic, El Hamed, I don’t see Julienne as one of them he’s still the best CH we have. However if he wants to leave its no big loss.

I honestly believe if he had remained fit and we never signed Duffy we’d still be in contention.

If pubs were open on Mars I’m sure Big Jimmy would be on the next shuttle, even if it takes 7 months😂😂😂

  9. On a footballing note the sooner this league is decided the better. We might be able to do something we have seemed unable to do since the year dot, forward planning on the team and manage front.

If anybody thinks Dundee Utd will get anything from the huns on Sunday or that the performance level we have seen in the last 5 games from Celtic will be enough to do anything against sevco then I need to have access to your prescription meds.

It pains me to say it but let’s get the pain over with ASAP, then plan for the immediate future.

    Hail! Hail! PMTYH

Sorry pal , it gives me no satisfaction to say i totally disagree with you regards jullien , imho he is a very average player . I admit to being on here continually complaining about our twin towers at the back . We were forever losing goals from cross balls when two of the tallest players in the league were present , and for me his biggest failing he is too soft ,what we need is a rieper an Elliot ,or van dike sp someone who takes no prisoners . But I respect your views these are just mine .
