County best form in unprecedently tight table

283

Would it upset your equilibrium if I said Ross County are the only team in the league to have won their last three games?  By definition, we play the form side in the division tomorrow.  You think we have plenty to play for?  County are one of six teams competing for three spots in the top half of the table – that’s bonus payments in the pocket of players who will appreciate them.

They came to Celtic Park last season bottom of the table and comfortably knocked a dispirited Celtic out of the League Cup.  Few of the players who will play in green and white tomorrow will relate to that game, but it will be front and centre of the minds of County players.  If they can do it when they were so poor, they can do it tomorrow.

The remaining fixtures favour Celtic: five at home and three away, the assumption being we will win at Celtic Park.  Leagues are won and lost in these weeks, in a unprecedently tight table, no result can be taken for granted.

  1. Cracking wee read back (for a change 😀)….not a suit , but i was fair chuffed buying my clothes for the first time.

My mother was horrified when she saw my choice of clothing ……

Harrington jacket , oxford bags, my weegyins (sp) and monkey boots 😎😊

  2. Buzzing for the game tomorrow.

Loving the pre game Coia’s and 3pm Saturday kick off.

Any win will do but an emphatic one will send out a message.

Hopefully the crowd stick with it if it isn’t working to plan.

These ‘run ins’ are about fans and team aligning for 98 minutes or so.

  3. BTB, there was always one on the paper round that tried it on, had to keep a paper trail for one of them to prove what they owed every time I managed to get them to answer the door

Main memory for me was that I delivered papers to the house of one of the models on Tennents Lager cans, paper bhoys dream that she would come to the door in her nightie, bit daft really as I was friends with her brother 😀

  4. I could be wrong but I reckon Ross County are going to find themselves on the wrong end of a hiding tomorrow afternoon. Perfect weather for playing football, team on a thirty domestic game unbeaten run, a full house, and the chance to go six points clear in the SPL, if we cannot be confident now when can we ever be? You do not need a weatherman to know which way the wind blow and you do not need a milkbhoy or a paperbhoy to know the Bhoys are going to deliver tomorrow bigtime and on time.

  5. Brilliant reading about everyones first jobs.👍

I had the paper round and the milk as well. The milkman used to come to the back of my house at 2am and pull on a string which was attached to my big toe two floors up – that’s how he got a helper.😂 Saved all my money up and caught a train to Queen Street and was measured up for a shirt and suit at Arthur Blacks. My tastes in fashion were influenced by the Celtic end of paradise in the early 70’s and couldn’t resist the Ben Sherman shirts and the ole coloured duffle coat from Crazy house. I always wore the ice blue and white sta-press – but they weren’t much use when you got involved in a scrap as they often got covered in dark tan or ox- blood boot polish from someone’s docs. Anyway, What a trendsetter I was in my wee West Lothian village.

Won’t make the game today. Attending the funeral at St Pauls Whiteinch of my neighbour and a great Celtic mhan Jim Porter.

Jim fought bravely for 2 tears or so against the scourge that is cancer but alas……..

So a BIG HAIL HAIL from me and all who knew him.

    Jim Porter Hail Hail

  9. Good matchday morning all Celtic supporters across the Globe from a dry, sunny morning in the Garngad.

Today we take another step toward the league trophy.

Ross County will be another team that will come and sit in for 70 – 80 mins before even venturing up the park.

    Boring as feck football.

Hopefully we punish them with an early goal and then hammer them.

    Show no mercy Celtic.

Yep. Our fan media should be getting this message across. It’s likely to get nervy and the fans need to help not hinder.

  12. After a welcome break, it’s back to the anxiety and nervousness of league action.

We seen the boost we got when we made up ground on the huns just before we played them so it’s crucial we deprive them of that this weekend.

I listened to some podcasts saying County will have a go today but I really can’t see it. A man up at home last time out they were packing the defence so they’ll hardly open up at CP.

The dreaded low block will be back in town this afternoon, should we maintain the intent and the press of the last two games we should be fine.

  13. My good lady has covid.

    Tested positive on Wednesday.

Cold symptoms, a cough and feels tired.

Happily feels a wee bit better today.

Had to cancel dinner at Dishoom on Sunday but that can be rearranged.

    Your health is everything imo.

    Get well soon dear!

  14. Having a wee lie in before getting dragged down to Peebles Rugby Club to watch 2 games of Farmers Fitbaw on telly in Pub! Joined this site approx 4 years ago and the whole read has been a throwback to those days, no bitchy responses, insults being thrown, frankly it’s been great. Thank you one and all.

  15. Fourstone May Jim rest in peace.

Philbhoy Hope the better half gets well soon

    Take care

  16. Reading back felt good, it was like the return of an old friend, Maybe having the new Moderator joining in a bit has helped.

Perhaps if any of the old Brigade are lurking maybe they might be tempted to make a Post or two,

In particular St. Stivs & TOSB.

Good morning from a sunny Duddingston Village.

Like everyone else I’m stoked for the game today. Really looking forward to this one. Just do the job, get the 3 points and make sure we go to Ibrox at least 3 points to the good.

My prediction – Celtic 2-0 Ross County

    Hail Hail.

  18. Game day at Parkhead.

    Love it.

Gene thats a good team I agree with.

    Onwards with game day prep

  19. I faked a sore back so plenty of time to sit down and watch the HOOPS, cheer on Éire and hope the Sasanachs do us a favour against the French. If I end up cheering on the english I won’t be telling youse about it.

  20. A good read back from last night, expecting a really difficult game today, Mackay has done a cracking job there, very good defensive coach, again we will need to use the full width of the pitch to try and create spaces.
