County best form in unprecedently tight table

283

Would it upset your equilibrium if I said Ross County are the only team in the league to have won their last three games?  By definition, we play the form side in the division tomorrow.  You think we have plenty to play for?  County are one of six teams competing for three spots in the top half of the table – that’s bonus payments in the pocket of players who will appreciate them.

They came to Celtic Park last season bottom of the table and comfortably knocked a dispirited Celtic out of the League Cup.  Few of the players who will play in green and white tomorrow will relate to that game, but it will be front and centre of the minds of County players.  If they can do it when they were so poor, they can do it tomorrow.

The remaining fixtures favour Celtic: five at home and three away, the assumption being we will win at Celtic Park.  Leagues are won and lost in these weeks, in a unprecedently tight table, no result can be taken for granted.

  1. Fourstonecoppi – may Jim RIP

First jobs – delivering milk was the preserve of the hardmen fae Temple and Shafton in my neck of the woods.

So I delivered cream, double cream to be precise. It was mainly pensioners I delivered to at 8am on a Saturday morning. Most wouldn’t open the door until I exclaimed in a loud voice “it’s the cream boy”. I was 10 at the time. Red face thinking about it now.

Used to make a fortune selling Parker pens as a sideline. The idiot that delivered to my door couldn’t count so I’d say “you only gave me 10 Parker’s…” I’d sell the other 10 at 100% profit.

I used to get threats from the milk-boys for selling on their turf so at aged 10, I carried a lockknife with me. Only had to show it once and never got hassled again.

Wondering if double cream still gets delivered.

  2. Match day…glorious weather in Englandshire and thanks to a couple of posters yesterday confirmation I can get a sausage at 3pm still…..

Every hun I know is gazing only at European glory and so if that translates to their domestic form for the team then hip, hip horray…..

COYBIG. 3 points all that matter (and a clean bill of health too)

  3. Yes, the appearance and intentions of the new Moderator, obviously at Paul’s behest, have made an immediate and telling difference to CQN. I welcome it – long may it continue.

Let’s agree/disagree robustly, honestly and humorously, but without rancour, profanity & personal abuse.

The quality of respect is not strained….it is twice blessed. It blesses those who give, and those who receive.

Paradise will be “glistening in the sun” today and a resounding victory is expected…..& required.

    Hail Hail to CQN.

You really can’t read a room or globe — can you?

Commando comic style glorification of military violence is not a good look at the moment.

A lot of men died to allow the 26 counties to steal bread out of the mouths of poor American children — again not a god look.

A lot of men dies to delay the introduction of a properly functioning welfare state and proper comprehensive medical service — not a good look either.

  9. FOURSTONE – prayers for the passing of your Celtic buddy.

Ms QUAD had a difficult Zoom call there; her pal – a 40-something mum of 3 under 10yrs – has got a terminal diagnosis. Loadsa pals rallied round, dialled in and reminisced joyfully without a mention of the bastarding disease. Despite the telltale headscarf, Leah shone bright as ever said my gal.

We’re here for a good time – not a long time as the saying goes.

Let’s hope our bhoys bring us even more joy later on today. HH

Yuri Gagarin, Russian cosmonaut is stripped of his honours by the Space Foundation for being Russian. Gagarin died in 1968.

    How absurdly stupid!

  13. Just read if the Huns win the SPFL & Europa. Them Celtic in second place will qualify automatically for Champion’s League Group Stage.

Anybody relieved to hear that, Naw, me neither,

I’d rather we played friendlies in Australia then qualify under those circumstances.

  14. Weebobbycollins

Absolutely – what next Tchaikovsky music being destroyed. Deal with Putin’s Russia today not the past.

  15. ART OF WAR

Wee tale about Parker pens. I have been using the same one for three decades now. I swiped it from the head of math in high school when he was punishing me for a crime I didn’t commit. All very A-Team, yes.

I buy refills on Amazon now and it has been my pen for every job I have ever had since leaving school.

  16. I retired 3 years ago but was smart enough to keep my part time job as a gigolo going. Nice little earner. My sister-in-law is one of my best customers.

  17. From the really good chat from last night,to some folk who are suffering…….best of luck to all HH

  18. Aipple, A.O.W, Fourstone – I have had the same parker pen for 8 years and it’s a cracker and I loooooove it.

My mate/boss bought it for me as a pressie.
