County best form in unprecedently tight table

283

Would it upset your equilibrium if I said Ross County are the only team in the league to have won their last three games?  By definition, we play the form side in the division tomorrow.  You think we have plenty to play for?  County are one of six teams competing for three spots in the top half of the table – that’s bonus payments in the pocket of players who will appreciate them.

They came to Celtic Park last season bottom of the table and comfortably knocked a dispirited Celtic out of the League Cup.  Few of the players who will play in green and white tomorrow will relate to that game, but it will be front and centre of the minds of County players.  If they can do it when they were so poor, they can do it tomorrow.

The remaining fixtures favour Celtic: five at home and three away, the assumption being we will win at Celtic Park.  Leagues are won and lost in these weeks, in a unprecedently tight table, no result can be taken for granted.

Phil, the smoke is usually coming oot yer lugs when the Celtic play 😂. Incoming….🤣

  3. Sky Sports reporting the huns participation in Australia is in doubt reporting that the huns weren’t happy with the timing of the announcements…

One report today said Sevco’s lawyers were looking at the contract and that they believe there’s ample time to line up a replacement and that therefore their liability will be negligible.

I must admit that’s a new one on me, I can disregard the contract I’ve signed because you can line up someone else…

Another court case looms me thinks.

    I know!!

A word of support is the better option, at least until the game is done.

There are a good few on here I could not sit beside at a match.

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. The Australian debacle is another example of what P67 calls corporate governance. The idea that any serious commercial enterprise will do deal business with Ibrox is for the birds.

  6. iF memory serves me correctly, didn’t Braga beat Celtic in Europe some years ago? Willie Mullins breaks all records at Cheltenham.

  7. Has anyone heard anything about when Kyoto is likely to be fully fit for 1st team action?

I’m concerned that he may be out for the season.

    Lovely!

When I left school my first monthly take home was about £45.00

    I gave my Mum £12.

I Could manage on that too!

Ange says he’s about 2 weeks behind Turnbull who seems to be about game ready now.

Kyogo back running and Ange says he’ll be back soon. With an international break coming up, I’d assume we want Kyogo to stay and continue his fitness work.

I think he’ll at very least be on the bench for Ibrox.

  11. Philbhoy .

    Thank’s for the response .

Sounds like he won’t be match fit for Ayebrokes or Hampden.

St Johnstone game was sold out last week as reported here and on the CFC website. We really do have wonderful supporters of a famous football club. Not company. 😉

When I started in 66 as an apprentice my basic was £6 per week less tax and Mum got £2.

Had to find my fare to Hillington from Toryglen so not much left for away games.

  14. Tiny you are back to your pessimistic best,

First you fear Kyogo out for Season When you are told he is about 2 weeks away from a return , instead of going Thank God your response is sounds like he wont be match fit for Ibrox or Hampden.

Did you ever think we would be 3 ahead with plus11 goal difference going to Ibrox,

Bet your response is, don’t assume we will beat Ross County,

I’m only teasing so don’t get the hump.

I’d want to think the replacement bus service would travel from Bridgeton to Dalmarnock along London Road turning right at the Gateway, allowing Celts off there.

More probably, Police Scotland will enforce a back road journey down to Dalmarnock, leaving Celts the trudge back.

An opportunity to remind us we’re not welcome in our own country? Doubt they’ll forego it.

Checking my itv7 answers, I picked the winner in the race before the Gold Cup, Hiway One o Three an odds on favourite so 3from7, a fail.

My usual plan is to pick against the favourite in the first featured race, then be more rational thereafter.

It’s seldom a good plan and it wasn’t again today, Vauban scuppered me. Glad it doesn’t cost money to try.

I thought the league would be over .

The Derby being cancelled on the 29th was a godsend .

I never thought it likely that we would be 3 ahead now, in January .

I expected them to get at least a draw in the last derby.

I expect us to get beat at Ayebrokes .

The league is a toss of a coin .

  17. An Dun – Kyogo not in the Japan squad so stays at home and continues recovery.

Anybody in Englandshire know what to do with sausages tomorrow if we are banned from the PPV and Hesgoal has gone ?

  18. Tiny Tim, I think we will get at least a draw at Ibrox and also think we will win the Treble.

I totally agree on one point, the Postponement of the Derby was indeed a Godsend,

  19. Big Wavy, I think HESGOAL have only stopped streaming European games, should be OK for Celtic tomorrow,

There are other Sites like VIP & First Row but haven’t accessed them for a long time so don’t know if they are still streaming games.

The term ‘match fit’ is a bit of a misnomer.

If a player is out injured for an extended period and returns to training, he will gradually build up the intesity to become match fit and thereby able to play from the start or on the bench.

It doesn’t mean he needs games to get match fit.

    Hope you are enjoying Dubai.

The Pass to Paradise is still available tomorrow, even where the ST holder is at the game. It will be in place till end of season.

The club deserves great credit for this initiative.

I was thinking that, based on your updates, some of the players, though not this one, including past and have present CQNrs have had on occasion, some pretty good predictions re the SPL results. It is not easy to predict results never mind actual scores and if those same players had permed those same scores at the betting shop, even with a small stake per line etc they would have been looking at a mini windfall. Not that I would encourage gambling but it’s always nice when somebody takes a few quid off the bookies.

I was a milk boy over an extensive area of Castlemilk. 6 days a week- double delivery on Thursdays to get Friday off 6.30-8.30 am. Then had to collect payment Friday night- 2 hours and 1 hour each on Saturday and Sunday for those unable or unwilling to pay you on Friday nights. Hated it at the time but I think it put the strength in my legs to have a decent career in my sport and still have some leg and lung fitness to this day.

Teachers disapproved and wanted me to concentrate on academic work instead of turning up late and knackered and smelling of milk but none of them had any idea of how to replace the money I would have lost by giving up.

    ———————————————-

Boy, that post struck a chord with me! I had both a paper round and milk round. My parents were dirt poor and I gave them all that I earned. I can’t remember how much it was, but I do remember that tips at Christmas far exceeded the pittance I earned. My paper round extended from Paisley Road West, at it’s junction with Penilee Road ( prefabs, then bungalows ), then up Crookston Road as far as Barrhead Road. That was a hike, so often I biked it. The milk round extended from the Crookston Road crossing of the White Cart to about a quarter mile beyond Brockburn Road, ( 4 in a block houses) , then a short length of Brockburn Road, and about half a mile up one side of Linthaugh Road, ( 4 storey houses ). SFTB makes a fair point about the exercise strengthening the legs and lungs, one I had never thought about up until now. I don’t know if I was up too early for Pollok muggers, but was fortunate enough that no one tried to take my milk money!
