Since July I’ve written about the over-dependence we have on Kris Commons as a creative player. He’s pretty much our only option, and if he’s not fancied, injured, suspended or just off-form, we look like a team full of energy but without a key to open the door.
It may be that Ronny doesn’t figure on having a classic No. 10 in his team, and it’s more than possible that we won’t play one against European heavyweights, but against packed SPFL defences, we need someone who can create space in dangerous areas.
As we mentioned last month, some years ago Celtic reportedly looked at Bosnian international, Semir Stilic, while he was at Lech Poznan. His star faded before a journey through Ukrainian and Turkish football before he returned to Poland with Wisla Krakow 12 months ago on an 18 month contract. Since then he’s been a sensation and has kept Wisla in touch with the top of the table.
He’s refused a new contract offer from Wisla and is subject to a bid from Dinamo Zagreb, thought to be in the region of €250k. He’s likely to be on circa €2k per week. We’ve scouted the player, he’s soon out of contract, going cheap, on low wages, on form and we’re short of what he can give.
This is the kind of player Dinamo Zagreb pick up for buttons and enables them to compete as effectively as they did against Celtic with a fraction of our budget. He has the making of an effective January signing.

So Easdale’s emergency loan was to stave of a 7 day winding up order from HMRC. That’s brightened my day.

Referees should be interviewed on tv and asked to explain controversial decisions they’ve made. I’d love to see Collum try to explain the four penalties he has awarded in his last two games.

Generally agree with your post apart from the fact that you seem to think obsessed ranters are YES voters.
I think you should go back and read Ernie Lynch and NEGON2 posts who were very much in the NO camp. Now they are ranters. !!!

Dear, dear…
Big night coming up, our silky passing skills :) should be better suited to a plastic pitch after all the bumpy pitches we have played on of late including our own which has never recovered since the big heefers from England and Eire were allowed to play on it.
Let’s hope our powder puff team don’t turn up and we see a lot more fight than of late.
Early goal and we can win by 4 but have a nasty feeling we are in for another fright.

Not been paying their NI. Naughty bears.
So in effect they are not paying their bills when due, that is insolvent in the real world.

I reckon I am up there with PL’s staunchest critics,so here’s my take on your post.
I agree with you about Celtic being unable to change the ‘same club’ mythology. That only took place long after it was accepted that they weren’t the same club,as the original had died! However,I do think we should pull up Doncaster for his recent comments.
Neil Lennon disinterested? Disheartened, maybe. Told to get rid of his top coach and good pal, after seeing his ‘best players sold and replaced with crap’
RD as manager? Not a problem with me,new direction and a more attacking style. Except that once again the window was used to sell our way into the black and replace with crap. PL got away with that approach 18 months ago and far from learning from it,decided it was the future. Leaving RD as the unlucky fall-guy.
As for being a ‘PL-hater’,not me,bud. I’m on record here and elsewhere giving credit to PL and the board for steering us through difficult financial waters. But he has done it at all he expense of the product. That is only workable as a short-term option. The medium-to-long-term result of that policy-as in all businesses who try it-is that the product becomes less attractive to consumers.
In football terms,fewer ST sales.
PL wasn’t brought in to decide on football policy. As soon as he decided that his opinion on it carried more weight than anyone else’s,that’s when he should have been reined in.
Had he stuck to what he was good at,I would be congratulating him time and again for it. Instead it is virtually forgotten because of the havoc he has wreaked on our team.
Stick to accounting,Peter. Play FIFA14 in private, don’t put it on public display and expect us to pay for it and lap it up.
And btw, opinions about Celtic and the referendum are so last year…
In my view being presented with a winding up order is an ‘insolvency event’. I suspect since it’s The Rangers the SFA won’t view it like that.
A question for you legal beagles out there.
Given the rush to purchase shares in the last 72 hours or so, surely these people knew about the Sarver interest, not until today officially declared.
Could this be deemed insider trading?

Do you not see? It is all part of the great lie. Celtic (only since PL came in) refer to the North of Ireland as Northern Ireland, they even talk about Co. Londonderry, and worst of all they see themselves as a British club!
I am shocked that even you call the North of Ireland – Northern Ireland!!!!!!! Maybe you are not such a rebel after all.

From the DR
“RANGERS announced the £500,000 interest free loan from director Sandy Easdale this morning and it is understood the club received a seven-day notice at the end of December for payment of national insurance.”
So, let me get this right…
The huns are on the same life-support machine that they’ve been on for what, 5 years?
They didny die – the wording on a document in some masonic safe was altered – thats all that happened to them – they’ll ‘NEVER’ be allowed to die awe the gither in this country.
For 3 years they’ve been in a different league from Celtic and yet, rather than Celtic take advantage of this situation, the club, despite all the spin-doctoring that goes on from Celtic PLC’s carefully planted lackeys on here, in the SMSM and, elsewhere, with the aim of deflecting fans attention towards events at ibrokes….I would guess that, Celtic FC are on the verge of the club being in – free-fall – if they arent already in it. Who’s fault would that be?

It must be really difficult being a suit at the sfa these days, what with having to invent new ways to get around the rules……..
HH
weeminger,
Don’t think the it got as far as the winding up order which would be issued via the courts.
BBC reporting the loan was in response to a “seven-day notice letter at the end of December for the payment of national insurance.”

I suspect that the purchases by the 3 Bears and DK were in place before the email was received from Sarver. There will have been negotiations over price etc to sort out.
You can’t just buy huge blocks of shares like that in a oner without a contract.

Aye, suit yerself.
I don’t think a seven day notice would count as an insolvency event. It’s basically a “pay up or else, this is your very last chance” letter.
The latest loan and immediate payment will end the threat,
Until the next time.

It does of course mean that they’ll need another loan to meet January expenses, since the McLeod money can’t be used for that.

Very good point. However,I read somewhere that Rangers were brought to Sarver’s attention by David Robertson,an ex-Rangers player.
It is not outwith the realms possibility that he may-unwittingly of course-let that info slip to someone.
I would love to know how the resident agitators manage to find the time to post on here on what seems to be a 24-7 basis
I am also trying to work out why so many people respond to the uninformed tripe that they often post – this just encourages them. My advice, ignore them long enough and they will go away

Yes, Peter to Paul.
What next?
Couple of £m secured against the training ground (if they own it) or perhaps one of the new shareholders would like to put up some of their personal wealth unsecured.
Failing that there will be an insolvency event in a matter of weeks.
