  1. Positives from last night, no 88…

Had we played Zagreb in the knockout stages we’d still be going through and thems oot :)

  2. Hunskelper

The point is anyone can lead celtic to the title when there is no serious opposition and rd should therefore be judged on games in europe. Domestic success with no huns around means little

Anyway off oot and I will let you all get back to cheering another defeat in europe!

Positives from last night no 89.

We can watch the draw on Monday with interest.

Every previous manager you mentioned who would win this Hunless league was poor in Europe. At least be consistent.

The agreeable parts of yer post….

Henderson deserves a run in the team – check

Scepovic will be good with some games – check

as for the rest…..nah, no buying it.

I’m afraid that a Celtic team that dizny possess the required levels of – street wisdom – and, there aint any in the dug out and, who are led on the pitch by a captain who leans with his chin like a pompous hun-ned, may be in for a much needed ‘fright’ from the mibbery assisted huns who will kick yer pal Ronny’s pampered pooches off the pitch and, will be warmly welcomed back by their pals on the Celtic board next season. But, ye know what….if, what I say above comes to fruition(I desperately hope I’m wrong) then, lots of folk are going to get their eyes opened for them, maybe even yours as well – who knows.

All of the above is – imho

    Hail Hail

My dad said to me about 30 years ago. “Celtic don’t play friendlies”. Roll on 30 years and punters are content at losing. Sad times

Does anyone know why Kayal was not playing last night ?

He wasn’t even on the bench

*he disnae want to play for us anymore….he’s sounded his agent out for a move……another player like Adam Matthews who career has been stalled as a result of thuggery.

  9. Off Topic: reading the report from Lima on climate change.

When are politicians going to realise a fundamental fact:

Either we ALL work together to solve the crisis or we all die together.

Arguing the nation X or Y should have done more etc… is kinda pointless if you’re both dying.

Ah there he is. How you doing?

Just my opinion. We are either backing the team or we are not. I always like to back them.

    Have a good day sir.

  11. Last night ? .

The key to a functional pressing game is having a midfield who understand the tactical and positional requirements of the pressing game . When it isnt done right you are simply inviting the opposition to take advantage of all the space created by players charging about chasing the ball and then not having the savvy to return to base.

  12. lennon’s passion

My dad said the same. He was not annoyed we lost last night.

Nobody likes to see Celtic lose but I think if you learn about your players in defeat and it doesn;t affect your standing then it is acceptable.

Maybe it’s the time of year but I am pretty much full of the festive spirit and positivity about the Hoops.

  13. lennon’s passion

There is content at losing and there is err, content at losing.

Half of our first picks were missing. Add in that Wakaso, McGregor and matthews, although playing, were also missing.

I thought we did alright in the circumstances.

    Bring on St Mirren!!!

Mind you if we beat them 8-0 there’ll be punters on here complaining it should have been 10.

Sometimes it’s tough for you guys to support Celtic, but keep at it.

    You never know……………one day…………..

Hi, I know that you like to back the team – good for you.

But, wearing a blindfold when doing so can be dangerous.

Ye see, ye could fall over!

Ye could even think that Celtic are the real deal!

Ye could think we were back to the MO’N days, ye know when the stadium was full!

A wee suggestion – please keep that blindfold on.

If, ye take it off……well, don’t say ye wurny telt:)

    14. Stefan Johansen

Stefan Johansen has warned Celtic that the performance against Dinamo Zagreb wasn’t good enough.

Despite qualifying for the last 32 of the Europa League the hoops signed off with a disappointing 4-3 defeat to the Croatian’s who had lost their four previous Europa League ties.

Zagreb scored four goals in the first 50 minutes with Ronny Deila unable to hide his disappointment after the final whistle.

Johansen has been one of Celtic’s best players this season- scoring home and away against Astra- but was left dismayed by the nature of the defeat in the Croatian capital.

“It’s not good enough,” the midfielder stated. “At least we’re through but we need to do much better than this if we’re going to go through the next round. It wasn’t our best game and while I’m happy we’re through we must be much better in the knockout stage.

“I don’t think the performance had anything to do with the fact we were already through. We all looked sharp before the game and we just shouldn’t concede four goals in the manner we did.

“I can’t put my finger on why it happened. We wanted to go out and win the game. We said before the match it was important because of the co-efficient and to ensure we’re seeded in next season’s Champions League play-off.

“We must make sure we are better next time and develop as a team and as players so we are prepared for the next round in February. I can’t imagine what a team would do to us in the next round if we played like that. Dinamo Zagreb are a good team but you can find better teams than them with top players so we need to be better.

  18. lennon's passion on

Don’t know how it can work with the system we play but I would love for Scepovic and super Swede to get a wee run in the team.

Positive from last night game finished early so wife got to watch The fall.

  19. I am NOT a ‘happy clapper’, however I think the majority of posters are being over critical, both last night and over the season as a whole.

Let’s look back at the end of the year on the new regime’s progress – it is likely that we will be top of them league by six plus points and in Europe and all competitions – we would have taken this when Ronny was appointed, albeit we would have preferred the CL to the EL.

The January window is, in my opinion, the most important transfer window in the last 2/3 years. We must get the ‘dead wood’ off the books and make some shrewd and important signings.

The CL next season will be the most lucrative ever – we could ‘pocket’ anything between £30/£40 million, if we qualify for the groups. This kind of money could be transformational to the club; not only would it rocket us into EPL – like turnover, it could be the catalyst that ensures our ongoing qualification in future years.

So, lets accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative – as for Mr Inbetween (Sevco), let them ‘stew in their own rotten juice’ – let’s not keep looking over our shoulders.

If they return to the Premiership, it will only mean another £10 million in our pocket – nothing else!!!!

  20. HH,

Cqn is always over critical following a defeat.

Last night wasn’t great. Most recognise that but the average posts from some after a win barely fills a line.

After a defeat we are treated to screeds and screeds of the same old negative clap trap from same auld ‘faces’.

How do you judge though, do performances outweigh results? It’s a results bases business and right now RD is in the knockout stages.

If as you say in the current situation managers should only be judged on European competitions then NL had had two years of managing us before he was put in the same position. Are you going to afford RD even one season to fully assert himself?

If next season The Rangers are in the league will RD be allowed European slip ups as previous managers? Or will that not be excused since it’s not the same team.

Bottom line – it’s his first season and he’s still in four competitions. Not many can claim the same achievement.

Yes I know why it was full.

    In one word – Quality.

    Quality in the dug-out

    Quality on the pitch

the above components havent been seen inside Celtic Park since MO’N left.

Since then, or rather just before MO’N left – Leiwwell arrived – the Quality was cut both, in the dug-out and on the pitch overseen by a string of compliant ‘puppet’ managers.

    WGS – Puppet

    BTM – Puppet

NFL – Puppet…although, when he found it too much to bear ie: boardroom interference he bolted.

RD – Puppet and a ‘pillock’ for running aboot the pitch with his nickers on ah mean WTF?

All of the above has led to a half-empty stadium.

    imho – Hail Hail

Celtic is in Zagreb. Yesterday, the Tartan Army Croatia organized a welcome party. The president of our association is the only one in a kilt! Yesterday some of my friends from Zagreb congratulated the decision to root for Hearts, because they realize that I do not talk nonsense. Often I have spoken to Celtic’s not Scottish, and since yesterday some friends decided not to root for celtic. We really love the Scottish and everything Scottish, and yesterday a lot of my friends Croats were disappointed with celtic fans. Celtic fans is junkyard, and you are gentlemen!! It is true! I am glad that I have seen and met Celtic fans live., And now I know that no one from a friend will not ask why I support Hearts!Today’s matches and I think that Dinamo win for us Bad Blue Boys and Hearts! Friend, everything you said is true for Celtic, thank you. Thank you for today, go to the game to support Dinamo and for Hearts!

  24. Roma 0 ——Manchester City 2 .

The post match stuff saw Arrigo Sacchi mocking Roma s attempts to play the much in vogue ” pressing game “. His advice was simple ——–” if you cant do it effectively ,dont do it ” . He made it clear that it required players who knew what they had to do and if they didnt then disaster would ensue . : He made the point that following fashion wasnt always a good thing -” some women should leave micro shorts on the racks “
