With financial projections which provide entertaining reading, Rangers International promoted director, Walter Smith, to the position of chairman. Smith immediately proclaimed, “Unity among the directors is vital”, although he was not asked about the forthcoming EGM where fellow directors Malcolm Murray and Chris Morgan face dismissal, while a third director, Charles Green, suggested he was going to resign by today, but has not got around to filling out the form yet (does this guy have ‘form’ when it comes to filling Companies House forms?)…..
They don’t do unity very well.
The only show in town is season ticket sales; for all clubs. Maybe Celtic should appoint Martin O’Neill to the board for a few weeks to allow the newspapers to provide some bluster for those who more convinced by headlines and sound-bites than strategy? Perhaps not. Let’s stick to plan.
Lisbon Lion in Ayrshire, send reinforcements!
Willie Wallace will be at Waterstons in Ayr from 1-3pm this afternoon, get along (with camera) if you can.
Tomorrow Willie will be at the Celtic Superstore from 12-2pm before going to the Celtic Shop, Clydebank, from 3.30-5.30pm. Get out and meet the man.
Great to meet so many people at Waterstons, Stirling, last night. The store sold out of Willie’s autobiography. There was actually a queue of people waiting to enter the store at one point.
Just a few days left on the auction for the signed Messi strip, a magnificent piece of football memorabilia. Keep an eye on it here.
Order your copy of Heart of a Lion, delivered before Father’s Day, below…..

Will he now be called THE Gordon Smith international ?
I think it has to be pointed out, that whatever Smith has done he would rather lose his house and medals than let it become public.
Businessmen NEVER go for a personal bankruptcy, it is almost always through the courts and in their company name. Only problem with that is that when you do all your papers are accessible.
Inter are set to make a bid for Celtic
standout Victor Wanyama according to
reports out of Scotland.
New Inter coach Walter Mazzarri is a fan
of the Kenyan international, keeping tabs
of the player while being the coach at
Napoli.
Wanyama, whose brother McDonald
Mariga is still owned by Inter, is also
being tracked by Manchester United and
Arsenal after an impressive season for the
Bhoys.
As a result The Scottish Sun are reporting
that the Nerazzurri are set to launch
a £10 million bid for the 21-year-old.
Wanyama made 49 appearances in all
competitions last season, scoring nine
goals as he helped the Glasgow club
triumphs in the Scottish Premier League
and the Scottish Cup.
Wee early(ish) morning heads up for cqn music lovers.

When we played inter at celtic park last year… victor looked the part against their star studded midfield
I said that day.. they will fancy him
If we do lose Hoops, Vic and FF, that should net us 20M + .
Cash for Lenny to continue building the team.
Lazy churnalists filling back pages with spurious speculation about the best team in Scotland. No speculation about the future destination of the award winning players from other teams.
No speculation about the fabulous vistas of opportunity open to the SFL3 manager of the year. No speculation about Walty and the corner office vacancies on Wall St, no speculation on the brilliant, secret agents who greased the wheels of the EBT engine.
No speculation on the whereabouts of the only living newspaperman in Scotland (relations with the Sevco Whatever chairman are said to be ‘strained’).
Success begets envy, envy begets bitterness, bitterness begets brown brogues.
The Only way is billy— Billy goes walkabout in the scud and shares a wee Jobby experience with Michelle McManus and others……..

Probably not – but I thought I would ask anyway!

I know it shouldn’t bother me, but the comments from Craig Brown this morning re: Commons’ holiday to Vegas are outrageous!
Who does this retired old dud think he is, commenting on the private life of a footballer with whom he never worked and in all likelihood never met?
Commons retired from international football. That is his decision and his business and no-one else’s.
Unbelievable that Brown now feels he has a right to comment on a player’s holiday arrangements!
And I guess we are still waiting to hear his reaction to Sur Waltur’s decision to leave the Scotland job in the middle of a WC qualifying campaign?
Outrageous.

Seen them regularly over the last few years. Was at the “carling” academy when some auld eedjit tried to climb from his box onto the stage. Got stuck halfway down, to the great amusement of the crowd and the band.

The granpa Broon article is designed to upset Celtic people.
Why read it and react just the way they want you too?
I know, without reading there newspapers, their websites and watching their sports programmes, that they are all very seriously deluded, hurting, hurting huns.
I know the truth and I’m loving it.
I’ll just smile my way through the day, as usual.
Thank you Celtic.

Spot on my man.
Pa Broon has no bearing on Celtic FC. He matters not a jot.
And we are in groundhog territory with ‘Uncle’ Walter and the ‘Messiah has returned everything is going to be OK now’ roadshow. They will never learn. And that is why they will never get the new club off the ground.
Pointless waste of time any of us getting annoyed about the media reverting to type.
Michelle McManus…………. I widnae like to clean her cage oot in the mornin’
When the best a club can come up with for a Chairman is Walter Smith you know they are pretty much rubber ducked.

Oh dear. My breakfast is on it’s way back up……………….
The tiresome SMSM continually try and have a go at us and wheel out the same old boring huns for a quote…who cares?
They are hurting and we’re not…magic!
Dry your eyes Broon.
Looking after elderly parents too big a financial burden for Duffield.
Right, on with the day. Cup of Joe and in to the Garden for some outdoor mind clearing therapy.
Anyone suggest a nice, low maintenance, easy to grow, useful vegetable to grow? I’ve done them all before – peas, onions, tatties, beetroot, courgettes, blah blah blah. All good and the courgette probably the easiest of the lot once the slugs were tackled. But I have grown lazy and want something different to throw in that will require me to do feck all to ensure a good crop.
I’ll check in later for responses.
BT- if you’re about, my bhoy is heading to Blantyre to see some heritage site or something with his club today. How much spending money will he need and is it any good?

Sorry………some things are better left unsaid………..

Maybe we can get the only way is Billy out to Tuscany for a wee shoot– It would be a frightening day for us all………..
Off to Celtic Park soon with Willie Wallace… and then on to Clydebank later.
At the Stirling Singing, a Stenhousemuir Board Member appeared, bought the book, and brought a whole load of old photos from the Stenhousemuir archives for Willie to sign.
Amazingly, Willie recognised lots of folk from the photos and talked away about them.
Smith must be the worst business man in history…everyone else who worked at Ibrox left with a substantial wedge from the club they loved.
But grandpa Broon seems such a cuddly old chap.

Forgot to say – can’t believe we haven’t given FF, VW and GH new contracts yet, tied them down for 10 years and signed at least 5 new players who will go straight in to the first team, as well as selling all the dead wood, of whom I reckon there is half the first team squad. How hard can it be? Lawwell too busy counting his bonus and Desmond is raking in the dividends on a golf course in the Bahamas somewhere. I have never heard of the rest of the board and therefore they are all useless and do nothing but take up free seats and big wages.
Sack the Board and bring true Celtic people like Billy McNeill and the WHytes and Kellys back to sort everything out.
That’s how we do it right?
BRTH- thanks for the TOWIB clips. Especially liked the Ashton Lane and Partick ones.
Do you have a connection/interest in making them?
HH to Willie.
Morning all. Suddenly, it’s glorious down here. 5 minutes ago, it was overcast. Now, the sun is shining brightly. Hope it stays, It was beautiful yesterday evening but not at all during the day.
