Don’t mention the (boardroom) war

With financial projections which provide entertaining reading, Rangers International promoted director, Walter Smith, to the position of chairman.  Smith immediately proclaimed, “Unity among the directors is vital”, although he was not asked about the forthcoming EGM where fellow directors Malcolm Murray and Chris Morgan face dismissal, while a third director, Charles Green, suggested he was going to resign by today, but has not got around to filling out the form yet (does this guy have ‘form’ when it comes to filling Companies House forms?)…..

They don’t do unity very well.

The only show in town is season ticket sales; for all clubs.  Maybe Celtic should appoint Martin O’Neill to the board for a few weeks to allow the newspapers to provide some bluster for those who more convinced by headlines and sound-bites than strategy?  Perhaps not.  Let’s stick to plan.

Lisbon Lion in Ayrshire, send reinforcements!

Willie Wallace will be at Waterstons in Ayr from 1-3pm this afternoon, get along (with camera) if you can.

Tomorrow Willie will be at the Celtic Superstore from 12-2pm before going to the Celtic Shop, Clydebank, from 3.30-5.30pm.  Get out and meet the man.

Great to meet so many people at Waterstons, Stirling, last night. The store sold out of Willie’s autobiography. There was actually a queue of people waiting to enter the store at one point.

Just a few days left on the auction for the signed Messi strip, a magnificent piece of football memorabilia. Keep an eye on it here.

Order your copy of Heart of a Lion, delivered before Father’s Day, below…..

Corkcelt, only just online now and havnt read backbut heard Noel O Mahony passed away earlier today. Was in company ot Tommy McConville and Jim McLoughlin when we heard the news

  2. Been thinking to myself, why do people ask fellow cqn’rs for their support and prayers in times of need?

Simple,-we are a family, a support mechanism, a hidden yet strong helping hand.

Very few of us on here know each other personally but that doesn’t matter. We are all non judgmental and loving. Passionate and humorous. Contrite and honest.

Paul67 – thanks for creating this forum and bringing us together. What brought me here in the first place was a love of celtic and a strong family connection with the club. What keeps me here is the people who make it.

How many players will we be associated with between now and the start of our next campaign? I’m guessing around 25 to 30. it’s only Friday after the cup final and so far we’ve had about ten. Utter pish.

I’ll trust JP and NFL and check the line up on day 1 of next season.

  6. Bloody Hell, I’ve said goodnight twice and had the bad luck to take a last peep at the blog and found the need to post again. Doc will you agree for us to be joint winners as an acceptable compromise.

On a sadder note, yes greengray the legendry Noel O’Mahony died today. If you do scroll back you will see a bit of chat between Toffee Tim & myself on the subject. Only discovered chatting to Toffee that he is married to John Lawson’s sister. John was an outstanding player too and played on same Cork Hibs team as Noel. I’m shutting down immediately I hit the Enter button to avoid further temptation.

Doc, get him a onesie and he’ll be your pal for life.

Onesies are the new cool attire about town for any self respecting Celtic nutter. Naw really, they are:-)

Missed this as I was on the quiz, on so many levels that’s wrong! Ya nutter

  8. praecepta

    Cheers, must have missed it.

Enjoyed that, I find CRc’s a bit intense for me, having a memory like a sieve, and no attending the games, I can’t recall like most others can.

I am honestly struggling to remember the cup final last week, seriously.

    On an average quiz, I would get about 25% right, I would get most of the pics right though >}

Tut tut tut. Doc, what kind of tim are you? Aff yer nut or not, comfortable clothing is a must in these days of inclement weather.

I blame St Stivs, he put the photo up and planted an idea:-)

Tell all the huns you know, that its gonnay be ten in a row.

  12. Evenin all.

Just logging in to say, bit of commotion outside here.

Several batton-weilding rozzers chasing a horse along the street.

Said horse had a throwover on it’s back labelled “Sherger” or summit (was dark and the horse was fast).

It was also pulling a two-wheeled shoogly trailer with big large swag bags labelled “Seville Cash”.

It was trying to catch up with Vic67 who was taking a casual stroll.

You know me (email exchanges) – semi-retired now. The blog is a ‘window’ to much that I have enjoyed in my social life (lurking/ posting) – football has always been more than a hobby – especially Celtic F.C.

There’s a touch of; sitting in the pub, round the fire/ in the kitchen/ on the supporter’s bus with your mates/ family – not a bad life!

Always look-in (over a 24/7 period) – helps keep me young!

Night-night mate – catch you over the weekend.

FFM is back on the ASDA Smartprice cider-and not before time!

No no, the Vic that dragged Shergar up Everest, built a snow-stable for him, and visits/feeds him regularly during his half-time break at Celtic Park ! The one that some msm muppets are trying to unsettle for laughable fees :))

Nah nah – aggressive zinfandels for me tonight :)

Hope all the moonhowlers and alternative CQNers are keeping well ! :))
