DREAM ON, KARAMOKO

KARAMOKO DEMBELE’S dreams of a glittering future at Celtic didn’t materialise, but the little winger is still hoping for glory in this season’s FA Cup.

The one-time wonder Bhoy joined Blackpool on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 outfit Brest in late August after quitting the Hoops at the end of his contract for the French outfit in July 2022.

Dembele, who has represented Scotland and England at youth level, scored the clinching goal in the Seasiders’ 2-0 win over Bromley in the first round of the competition at the weekend.

The third-tier club got over a tricky hurdle after Shayne Slavery opened the scoring in the fifth minute and the ex-Hoops prospect added the second before the half-hour mark.

The 20-year-old forward and his team-mates will have to wait to discover who they meet at the next stage after yesterday’s draw paired them with either Scarborough Athletic or Forest Green Rovers who drew 1-1 in their tie.

The replay is scheduled for a week tomorrow and Blackpool will meet the winners at Bloomfield Road.

Dembele signed a four-year deal at Brest after leaving the champions following one goal in four Premiership appearances. He failed to hold down a first team place at the French top-flight club and moved to the League One side for game-time in the summer.
