Dunfermline statement on Rangers

1133

This evening’s announcement by Dunfermline Athletic that they no longer expect to receive timely receipt of the £80,000 ticket money Rangers FC PLC (in administration) owe them will heighten concerns at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who have a stock at tickets with Rangers right now, money for which will be received by the administrators in advance of their game later this month.

The administrators have yet to decide whether to retain high-earning players or make more funds available for existing creditors, and future creditors, like Inverness.  As ticket sales for the Inverness game are on-going, the administrators will need to be aware of their legal position before retaining a premium squad.

One final push (this week) for the Vanessa Riddle Appeal. We have a Celtic top signed by the first team squad available to auction on eBay. You can bid on the auction and help send Vanessa for the treatment she needs by clicking here. Thanks to Penfold for the donation and to Taggsybhoy for organising (yet again).

i think your spot on..They will be seething about this and will react in ways only they know.

Be very wary fellow tims because this could get alarmingly scary

chuffed for you both… forget money, they are the treasure…. a wee bit of advice which, of course, you’re free to ignore… appreciate the time with them, savour every hour, and don’t let the Jezebel of long working hours riches seduce you. It did me, and I regret it mightily.

  3. There was a great article in the SoS recently, where the journalist attacked the myth that Alex Salmond is some kind of political genius.

It was pointed out that he had spent most of his career losing elections, often thank to his own mistakes (eg “unpardonable folly”).

His decision to jump into the sectarian debate was, IMHO, a mistake. This is a no-win situation for a politician. It takes you into difficult debates – Catholic Schools, the Orange Order, RFC themselves, and you risk looking too Glasgow-centric.

His statement tonight strikes me as similarly misjudged. Far too cocky, smiley, jokey. Not grasping the possible criminality involved here, and the ruthless wildcat capitalism of Murray and especially Whyte…

STV it’s all Rangers line up, talking crap about Fan ownership.

  7. I happened to be looking up translations for the word “Administration” in various world languages and thought it was worth sharing. You just never know when you’ll need this…..

Breaking news; Harry Redknapp has turned down the England Manager’s job to become Rangers new tax advisor instead

Also Rangers have just announced that to cut down on their food budget they just hired Anthony Worrall Thompson

  9. Dark Mingwall on STV – spouting p*** about fans with ‘great personal means’, ‘worldwide fanbases’ coming to the rescue.

Henry McLeish assuming everyone supporting a positive exit from administration.

    WTF?

  10. The Scottish Government should back a New co Rangers?

    Only in Scotland.

Sorry I was out so couldn’t reply to your earlier obnoxious remarks.

I’m also sorry you don’t get it. Are you naturally daft or have you worked at it?

For 2 days there has been no mention of tax from politicians (n.b. only Labour and SNP have commented). The whole talk has been “for the good of Scottish Football” or “we must protect the 200 jobs” or “Rangers must survive”.

The agenda needs to change thicko. The truth needs to get out that they have been diddling tax. The more that is talked about the better whether the tax is repaid or not.

  16. Henry McLeish on STV: this is a wake up call to all clubs in the UK.

No, Henry – it’s a wake up call to one club in Scotland.

Be fair…it is important for them to firstly get out of administration…and into liquidation.

  22. ItaliaBhoy,

Salmond and the SNP have knowingly given up any vestige of respectability in the eyes of the Celtic support. If they’re worth their salt, they’ll have worked out what that means in electoral terms, and deemed it acceptable – i.e. you don’t matter. Maybe this goes wider than the Celtic support, in which case their calculations don’t mean a thing. Or maybe they’re right – time will tell.

I can only speak for myself. I’ve voted SNP in the past – never again

Dungweight “Deduce what has happened in the last nine months”?? Are this twat for real. He tries to compare with Bundesliga where clubs are required to submit budgets etc etc. Simple fact is they failed to submit their tax payments – “Deduce” that Sherlock.

  24. Trevor Steven: Rangers have found themselves in this situation. Incredible. No sense of responsibility whatsoever.

Liqidation seems to be the agreed way forward on STV with absolutely no moral responsibility for the money owed. What nasty and disgusting people.

  25. The coverage on STV tonight was a complete disgrace. It takes some doing to spend 10 minutes on this issue and not ask one single relevant question.

Trevor Steven: “The right person will come along at the right time, and that will be great”

Henry McLeish: “It’s a wake up call to football in Scotland”. The proceeded to talk about how much Rangers and Celtic bring to Scottish football, as if we are in danger of disappearing alongside the Horribles…
