Energising offensively

1455

I’ve spoken to many Celtic fans over the last couple of days but I’ve not met one who would have preferred Roy Keane to be our manager instead of Ronny Deila.  Despite some impeccable references, Ronny is a largely unknown character, but there is an appreciation among the support that we need to come up with a plan to enable the club to over-achieve in Europe.

The man’s performance at the media conference was faultless.  It’s not important to quick-witted but his use of words like “energise” and “offensive” is promising.  Football is in the entertainment business and Ronny appears to appreciate the link between the way his team perform, not just their results, and the ultimate satisfaction supporters’ leave the ground with.

Our thanks to the Greenock Celtic Supporters Club for hosting last night’s CQN Lions fundraiser for the Celtic FC Foundation.  We were fortunate to be entertained by Willie Wallace, John Hughes and Bertie Auld, it was a fantastic night, full of laughs.

Special thanks to those who attended and helped raise over £2000 for the Foundation, and to those who promised to get involved with the Foundation.  The club is in good hands with supporters like those in Greenock last night.  Big shout to Joe and Mick for bringing a familiar old friend along.

  1. It seems after 68 minutes into a 0-0 with Honduras England have nothing to worry about next week when they face Italy.

    Good luck with that.

A few went but always kept a low profile – remember vaguely the ’86 World Cup and being excited for them and my da wanting them to do well – which was strange looking back – he’s an ex prisoner

Mate of mine went recently on a corporate gig and left at half time said it was a disgrace – this was in the corporate bit

My granda refused to go anywhere near Windsor at anytime coz he was a massive Belfast Celtic fan and was there on New Years Day when they attacked the Celtic players – never supported another team again – thought Belfast Celtic would return -always saddened me

Went with my auld man a few years back to Bethune.

Bethune is a wee place near to Calais.

My Da felt guilty no one in the family had neen to see the grave if his Uncle killed at 19 in the First World War.

Genuine relief when we found it.

    Thousands of kids buried there.

White crosses as far as u could see.

‘ the countless white crosses stand mute in the sand.

To mans blind indifference to his fellow man .

A whole generation that were butchered and slain .

Did they beat the drum slowly , did the play the pipe lowly , did they sound the death march as they lowered u down . And did the band play the last post and chorus a did the pipes play the flowers of the forest.

    Agreed

I have no doubt the staff in this instance were as equally anxious as it seems it was out of character for the resident not o return .They thereafter no doubt carried out their adopted procedures for missing residents and contacted the local police.

I don’t see any need for the care commission to be involved there

I may be being a bit a harsh or even presumptuous but I suspect if the auld fella had made his way to Dublin for St Patricks day those posters posts who I had been commenting on would not have been so judgemental

Aiden bhoy, beat? Aye, jist not enough time for them to get pumped rotten.

Neither of these teams look like they could beat a strong sevco side. Mince without the trimmings.
