FORMER Celts Christopher Jullien and Karamoko Dembele were history-makers at the weekend.
The towering centre-back, who joined Montpellier for a cut-price £850,000 last week, made his debut for his new team in their Ligue 1 match at Brest.
And Jullien met up with winger Dembele as the visitors trounced the home outfit 7-0 for their biggest-ever win in Ligue 1. They were five goals ahead by the interval and that is also a ground-breaking achievement.
FRENCH FANCY…Christopher Jullien enjoyed a seven-goal dream debut for Montpellier.
Similarly, it was the first time in the top flight Brest had conceded five goals in one half and the seven strikes they lost is another unwanted first as they had never shipped that amount of goals in their league history.
As Jullien, 29, strolled through the encounter, Dembele, 10 years the centre-back’s junior, could do little to stem the tide.
He was introduced as a substitute in the 68th minute – four minutes after the visitors had claimed their sixth goal.
Brest’s plight was not helped by the red card for Pierre Lees-Melou five minutes after the interval, as shown on You Tube highlights.
Interesting times for two former Hoops.
