Exploiting a vulnerable man, the drive to Bristol Airport, WW in the UK

611

There is a degree of public interest in reading about, or listening to, spivs exploit the stupidity of some football fans to bring a club to its knees, but the sight of a tired and emotional looking Malcolm Murray stumbling away from an event is neither entertaining nor of interest to anyone with a sense of humanity.

Have you ever seen a drunk football player or official?  I have.  It has never been news before nor should it be now.  If the man has an actual problem the first response from his club and the wider game must be to offer support for one of our national illnesses.

The fan with a phone camera probably knows no better, but passing-round a recording of when a Frankie Howerd impersonator confronted Murray about his alleged problem is truly awful.

The audio was almost certainly not uploaded onto the internet by ‘Howerd’ but it was his decision to make and distribute the recording.  I hope he informed Murray the call was being recorded.

10 years ago today five of us filled a car and drove to Bristol Airport, the nearest available departure point for Scot’s leaving for the Spain; more-local airports were booked out within minutes of the event ahead being confirmed.  Bristol is a small airport but the place was full of other Celtic fans who had travelled south for the same purpose.  Every departure point in the land was filled by green and white.

A remarkable exodus was underway, it was a privilege to be part of it.

Great news, Willie Wallace has made the long trip from Aus and is now in the UK.  Looking forward to catching up with him next week.

I see contributing to Willie’s autobiography has had a dramatic effect on Rod Stewart’s career!  He’s just reached No. 1 in the album chart for the first time in decades.  Hail, hail, Rod.

You can pre-order the autobiography in Willie’s own words, with Rod’s contribution, Brogan Rogan’s best writing yet, and Archie MacPherson’s fantastic scene setting (“the best team I’ve ever seen”) with the link below.  Willie will be signing all copies ordered now just as soon as the presses roll.

Nostalgia overload.  Need to hold it together for tomorrow.

  1. Was getting very excited about Celtic Overseas Season Ticket for Supporters living outside The British Isles until I discovered someone in the Club regards me as living in The British Isles. I have news for him, I do in my whole meal bread.

I do understand why the Overseas Ticket might not be applicable to Irish Residents but I genuinely object to my Country being referred to as part of the British Isles by The Celtic Club. Why could they simply not say for people living outside Britain & Ireland.

  2. TET,

It is difficult to decide which faction I want to prevail.

    The Spivs or the Masons.

If King is seen as the fresh faced saviour, then it looks like Spivs v Spivs.

The only humane act would be for the SFA to cut off their support system and withdraw their membership.

Anything else merely prolongs the agony.

Obviously Murray in place is seen as important to the City, but good help them if that poor man is seen as a pillar of upstanding rectitude.

He has been irreparably undermined and compromised and has displayed poor judgement in allowing himself to be put in that position.

It will be interesting to see how the Hearts situation develops and if parallels are drawn.

It may be that the unfolding to their situation will result in a final dispelling of the Ibrox Myth industry.

Perhaps this was part of the plan from the beginning?

Cause as much confusion and in fighting as you can, deflect attention from what your really trying to achieve

  4. You have to give them credit, through all this turmoil they’ve maintained their historic level of decency and dignity.

  5. Went to CP today and renewed mine and young Palacio’s season books for the Jock Stein upper after they backtracked in moving us to other seats. Managed to get the £100 saving also and £75 for Junior.

Subsequently went into the superstore and spent the savings gear for the Holidays.

    Whit ma like…..

They do, but it’s called Caisse formula, or similar.

There are problems for company’s selling Essiac, so they call it something else.

You can’t order it online, you have to phone them, you give them your CC details on the phone with you address, you can buy 1/2 kilo bags, comes with instructions, cost for a kilo to Spain is about 40 pounds, that will last a year.

Murray was appointed by Ahmad and Green. At the time his appointment was trumpeted as a serious big hitting city type coming on board.

He was there to ensure proper corporate governance.

Who benefits from this seedy character assassination?

Indeed, perhaps this was foreseen from the very beginning?

    ********

We’re all speculating here, but, perhaps the re-emergence of Whyte changed the plan.

Green needed Murray as the trusted face of Sevco.

He was known and respected in the City, so we were told and would bring in investment.

He possibly had his compromising evidence on Murray, as some sort of insurance for his compliance.

    So far, so jolly.

However, when Craig started leaking, saying that CG was his front man, MM was known to exclaim, “WTH is going on, Chas? The AIM and Cenkos are asking questions and want an Independent Inquiry”.

A step to far for the Spivs, so Operation Malcolm was instigated.

That may be where we are at now. All speculation from me.

Will the Hearts situation impact for good or ill on the Sevco situation?

Will it draw out a definitive statement on their status from the SFA?

    Who knows, apart from BFDJ.

Sorry for butting in on your conversation, but I remember you mentioning essiac before and was meaning to ask you about it. I have a friend who conventional treatments are not working for and was wanting to get them to try essiac, so any advice would be appreciated.

  13. A few random thoughts – they’re the only kind I ever get:

Tom English came in for a lot of flak here for having a dig at us. But that’s standard

for hacks writing for a Scottish audience. But I think he may be cleverer than most in his trade – he, and only he, did stress if any of the leaks were true then there would be hell to pay.

The other thing is Regan’s collusion in the ‘independent’ investigation. Not even in Russia would they get away with something as bent as that.

I don’t know if anyone has commented on it but there was something specially sinister about Wrght’s assault on Lustig. Before he jumps the Wright man prepares himself – he gets his elbows into attack mode then presses the palms of his hands together in order to achieve full thrust when he makes contact with his opponent’s face. The press corps missed that.

I got the details of the helicopter tour from the brochures and papers lying about the hotel.

I chose to go with the first flight of the day and had breakfast on the canyon floor with a chill in the air and the morning sun lighting up the walls of the canyon. Can’t tell you how spectacular it was. Beats everything I have ever seen the scale is unbelievable.

It has to be the spivs every day of the week.

You know as well as I the sfa will not withdraw their licence, they obviously know what is going on behind the scenes, and will be hoping that they self combust, so they are again not seen as the bad guys.

All the while the game is getting dragged through the gutter.

It’s about time the other clubs took action, cos the way things are panning out, there won’t be a game if things carry on as per.

    Come on the spivs.

In Scotland, three of us decide to go. Me, one brother, and one soul brother. Tents etc looked out, drive to London, stop off, pick up a new motor, (rental) head for Dover next day, ferry to Calais, head towards Paris, (is it just me or is that Eiffel Tower getting closer), Uturn across the Seine and South towards Bordeaux. Turn right at Bordeaux head for Aquitaine, or Le Cap Ferret to be exact. The archapelago itself, Atlantic west, Archachon Bay south is actually built on sand, literally, not metaphorically, reclaimed by forestation from the dunes. We camped up at Le Truc Vert, the name of the campsite, and also of the wider area. Le Truc Vert – The Green Thing, well worth a visit on its own. Heatwave heading north. On the road (yes have read Kerouac) the next day, bypassing Biarritz, (no time) en route for San Sebastian. Only part of the trip where we had to show passports to buy petrol, shinners the lot of them. Up across the mighty Pyrenees to the high plains, through Pamploma (no bull) and through a forest of of huge wind turbines on way to Zaragoza. Top gear now, but arrive in Madrid at teatime and lost valuable time, didn’t realise just how valuable at that point. Motored on south but did not get to Fuengirola until just after one in the morning, missing out, by fifteen minutes, a table with twenty four free beers, carefully amassed by other brother, partner and young tim, who flew direct to Malaga. Twenty four beers! But we are not bitter, honest! We managed, and made sure we got our money’s worth the next few days. On the day, all six of us pile into motor and head for Seville, last seen 1982. City is steaming, and noisy, spend an hour or so around the Cathedral, park up and walk across the river, to the Park where the game was showing. Never heard so many different Scottish accents in one place, and more than a few Irish ones into the bargain. Couldn’t believe how Celtic played in that heat, still strong in extra time, but losing that late late goal. Still think that Shaun could have done better with that free kick, or maybe that is where Big Bad John would have saved the day. Headed back south spent the night on the beach. Spanish stroll!

  17. Thanks TET

I believe you pal. I’ve seen a documentary on Rene Caisse and was interested in this treatment.

  20. Blootered people are big news ??

In which case most of the people I’ve met on CQN should be in the news :-))

  21. MM was roped in because of his financial ‘city’ contacts – it helped that he was a ‘loyal’ sevconian.

Having been flattered and deceived (he got to wear the equivalent of the ‘Japanese Admiral’s’ uniform) – he finally grasped what was going on.

When he looked as if he could pose a threat – his weaknesses were exploited (the posted videos) – the opening gambit.

This will get nastier – videos of; sleazy haunts, lap dancing, goats, ladyboys, etc?

    Instructions come with it.

As a preventative, mix 30 mls with boiling water, take once a day.

For someone who is suffering a serious illness, three times a day.

All the info you need is on that site, just click on the different sections.

I take it as a preventative, never had a cold since I have taken it, must be nigh on 12 years without a cold or a bout of the flu.

Just ordered the book. It will be winging its way with my good lady and myself on a weeks break to the Hawaiian island of Maui. CQN’s reach is long indeed!

A long shot i know, but I wondered if its possible that somehow a CQN badge could find its way into the shipped parcel, or will the book be send from an unrelated hub? Anyone able to help? Paul, Winningcaptains, embdae? Willing to pay for the prized bobble by CC, or postage.

  24. Praecepta

I’m sure spivco would rather that video had been released instead of uncle challs festive message one.

  25. Here is how newco will keep their SFA license.

Pinsett & Mason will declare that when asked if Green had any link to Whyte ,he will be deemed to have told the truth when he said no.

Green has tried to swindle Whyte out of ownership of the club,so when he said he was not representing him ,he was telling the truth.

The fact that Green and Whyte are fighting for ownership proves that they were not in cahoots when Green pleaded for SFA membership.
