Fantastic result from Celtic Park

757

It was a fantastic result from Celtic Park last night for Scotland’s poor who are dependent on food aid.  Fans arrived in droves before kick off with bags full of provisions to restock food banks across the region.

I can sympathise with the SPFL to an extent.  Without a sponsor, they are even more dependent on satisfying television, and satisfying television often involves making unpopular decisions, but the mess they’ve made of scheduling the final Championship fixtures of the season is deeply embarrassing for our game.

Our game is looking more and more like it’s being run like a Banana Republic.  Generalissimo Doncaster has a case to answer.

I’m pretty sure no one at Celtic considered Leigh Griffiths as their number one striker when he signed a year ago.  That he has become so, is as much a result of his forward competition failing to deliver as much as his own talents, but there’s no denying Leigh’s ability.  He’s turned into a vibrant, productive striker who scores all types of goals.

  17. Delaneys Dunky and all,

I see Joe McBride is being mentioned. As I have said on here on a number of occasions, Joe is far and away the best centre forward I have had the privilege to watch in a Celtic jersey. No one, imo, comes close. He gave the Lions the confidence and self-belief so essential. When he played, we knew we would score. Even more importantly, the other players knew it. He was simply incredible. Worth his weight in gold.

I’m sorry but the SPFL is literally the worst professional league on the planet. How on earth can this happen? Embarrassing.

*because they are set up tae look after one team only. Bader stacked Scottish football with his allies. Peat was sequestered tae Stenhousemuir when Airdrie went breest up, bader’s claws were all over that.

Even self confessed Thistle man David Taylor when the UEFA General Secretary admitted that he was under severe pressure from the SFA tae ensure a smooth passage for the deid team after their usual blitzkrieg of Europe.

    Why are sweets called sweets?

The same reason that we call swegers, swegers.

Language is something that the proles can control. ;)

  21. Joe McBride was the first footballer whose autograph I got as a boy!

He had only signed for CFC and was holidaying in St Anne’s outside Blackpool.

We were staying across the road and of course my dad and older brothers recognised him but wouldn’t ask for his autograph. My dad especially wouldn’t hear of interrupting the McBride’s holiday.

My dear old mum though was not to be deterred and a couple of days later we were coming out of our digs as the McBride family were coming out of theirs – bang! In went wee Kate

“Mr McBride – could you sign this for my son?”

The guy couldn’t have been nicer -asked my name and we all chatted for about 15 minutes about football and just how excited he was to have signed for CFC. He became my favourite player after that – you know the Celtic player you were when you played with your pals down the local park!

It was tragic the way his career was curtailed by injury!
