FEYENOORD hammered Lazio 3-1 in Rotterdam tonight to go to the top of Champions League Group E on six points.

It was a comprehensive victory for the Dutch as they swept aside the Italians who snatched three points with their sixth-minute stoppage-time goal at Parkhead earlier this month.

There was no hiding place on this occasion, though, as Santiago Gimenez opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark when he swivelled onto a pass in the penalty area and finished with a superb left-foot drive.

A whizzbang effort from Ramiz Zarrouki from the edge of the box doubled the hosts’ advantage in first-half added-on time.

And it was all over when Gimenez thumped in a rebound off the keeper for No.3 in the 74th minute.

Pedro, Lazio’s matchwinner against Celtic, got the visitors’ consolation with a penalty-kick eight minutes from the end.

The Serie A side have four points after three games.
