The James Forrest Feedback Club were quiet last night. I’ve no idea if James will rediscover his form on a sustained basis, or if his limbs will allow him to attain his potential, but it was good to see him running at defenders with confidence again.
He got the measure of John Rankin early on. Thereafter the United marker could do little more than block James whenever they faced-off.
I’ve been impressed with Dundee United during this series of games. Fojut held things together remarkably well at Hampden, you can see why we signed him subject to a medical, while Ryan McGowan was clearly their best player at Celtic Park, notwithstanding his late lunge at Liam Henderson. Well done to McGowan for coming onto Twitter to share apologies and congratulations.
Nadir Ciftci’s swagger reminded me of Jackie Dziekanowski in his latter days as a Celtic player. He’s probably found his level at United, where he can turn it on at will, but the modern game is looking for something different.
Loved the moment when a fouled Nir Bitton ruffled the hair of his assailant, Aiden Connolly. Nir is growing by the week, I’m working hard to avoid comparisons. We’ve not seen much of an edge from him since that, mistimed, tackle against Ajax, but he could do with some of that in-your-face attitude others in the midfield have.
Not been online much since the game, what suspension have the SFA offered Paul Paton after his altercation with Anthony Stokes?
Keep your eyes peeled for a nomad. They can hide in bins and outhouses. Check your shed. Any will do.

Cos there’s a Wee and a J, in there, of course.
Anything else is bloody ridiculous.
And the same goes for Nir and GC.
Biton is playing well and his confidence is allowing his talents to show, but not too long ago he was getting slated on here as “sparrowhearted” as.

Both called James other than that I’m struggling.
5ft, 6 Vrs 5ft, 4 ….that kinda way
Jackie Mac, like other aspiring managers, will be studying the Sir Alex management manual.
Unfortunately, like others, he has only remembered the bit about moaning, girning and intimidation.
Dundee Utd unhappy that ref being harassed by Celtic players whilst trying to do likewise.
This is Callum Murray who is on record that no matter what, he is never intimated by anyone !
BIG-CUP-WINNERS. I was getting ready to send the men in white coats to pick you up fella. H.H. :- )

I showed my wife your photo last night and she said you are a handsome man.

Should I know what photo you’re referring to?
Had a great vantage point last night, main stand South, Fs3 row 7….
From the vantage point, I don’t think Stokes and/or Commons done enough in terms of taking their opportunity, whilst Armstrong and Johansen unavailable.

Too many in the Celtic support fail to apply any perspective on things. It’s either boom or slump, in here and at the game.
Thing is, too many are over keen to get on players backs, full in the knowledge(you would think) that hurling abuse is only ever counter-productive.
You’d think on the back of Samaras et al, that these hostile diddys would shut up, but they don’t they simply move on to another target.
Great to wind the pundits up on SSB….

Think Nir has more in his locker than Ki.
Ki had a great pass completion about 96% for us and in first season in England.
Was not surprising as he only had short passes to side and backwards in his repertoire.
It may have been coaching directives though.
This season when i have see Ki his movement into positive areas has improved and his passing has become more expansive.
Nir this season has been good on the ball with a good array of passing .
He looks positionally sound and the movement of his team mates give him plenty of options.
Coaching is a huge factor in the performance of these type of players.
This is brilliant! Shortbread going overboard that all the sendings off in the Celtic -Utd games are because the two teams are playing each other too much.
No doubt this “problem” would be solved with a 16-team league. Even though none of the games have been in the league!
What are the implications if sevco can’t get a nomad, is the gist of it just that their punters who had shares can kiss goodbye to them ?
I don’t see how GSL can raise more funds in another share issue mind

I’d agree the Big-Yins positioning is excellent. He’s also showing more dig and tenacity. Think once he scores a goal or two his confidence in the forward areas will soar too.
BIG – CUP – WINNERS. I agree we need to have a happy medium things are never all bad or all good they are generally some where in between. H.H.

They are technically similar… I think Ki is better offensively whereas big Bitton is more astute defensively. Bitton reads things well, and provides great cover…compliments Broony in the engine room well.
As I mentioned above, if he starts shooting when the opportunity presents itself, then he will be come a more complete midfielder. He’s got the potential to add goals to his play
Celtic versus Dundee Utd needs a strong Sevco.
ExSlaemuirBhoy
That’s been my thought for ages, after the monkeys started getting asked to participate in the Buyangers…….
It shouldn’t be dismissed though, that outside the top 5 Epl clubs, big Ki is probably as good a centre mid as you will find in that league, from top 6 down.
Ki has a few seasons in the UK under his belt, which should give him an edge in comparable effectiveness.

Seems like just a couple of weeks when Shortbread was filling airtime with interviews from Dave King and his band of lunatics.
Now that that farce has gone quiet the alleged journalists have to talk about another topic even more ridiculous than Sevco … well, not quite.

Ha – Great game
Scottish football needs the best teams in the top division.
And that’s why I hope Hearts and Hibs are promoted while the tribute act remains in the second tier.

Not sure I’ll make it tomorrow
If you fancy taking Kit on Saturday that’s fine by me
It’s simple why Nir is playing well!!! yeah the guy has talent but what most are missing is the old Stein philosophy and that is , get players doing what they are good at!! Never ask a player to do something that is alien to them. Ronny seems to adopt that attitude and way of thinking and , guess what, it’s working.

I have no issue with McNamara and Donnelly doing their best for their current employers but their attitude stinks. Neither were what would be described as Celtic men. McNamara senior is a Hibs man, Donnelly never seemed overly committed to us as a player.
*not long after Sid broke through I was at a supporters event and at the end the whole crowd including players and officials were singing “for it’s a grand old team” that is except Donnelly, even young Kerr the goalie leaned over to try and get him to sing.
Now I know his da was on the deid team’s books but I believe he also played for motherwell so I would hazard a guess that he’s a FCM fan.

I understand it means they will no longer trade shares on the AIM but the shares can still be traded -so they will have a value.
blantyretim.
Kitalba is going to the game but he’s sitting in the opposite stand, But try and get into the BV after your work, You know you want too.
Loved it explained how the Utd keeper wasn’t sent off last night.Assault and goal scoring opportunity, take your pick ref.
Any links to decent highlights from last night?
Cheers in advance

George Connelly.
Loved the ghuy.
In my top all-time 5 of CFC players I have seen in the flesh.
…alongside Jinky, Bobby Murdoch, Kenny Dalglish and Henrik.
…and he played c250 games for us – far too few while he fought his demons.
Player of the year in 1973 when he was majestic.
HH!!
