Founder Investors still needed at Sevco

1376

Anyone consuming media coverage would think that the on-going investigation into the registration of Rangers (since renamed RFC 2012) players over the last decade or so was the most pressing matter within The Rangers (until recently, Sevco).  I really don’t think so, although it is a useful rallying flag.  The EBT issue is not short of drama but there are more immediate concerns.

More importantly, I hear The Rangers are still trying to raise the initial £10m Founding Investors capital.  The Sevco Investor Presentation offered these Founding Investors two shares for each one purchased, “effectively doubling their contributions” ahead of a stock-market floatation later this year.  My understanding is they hope to raise £20m at that floatation, without the two-for-one share incentive, in order to see them through several years in the Scottish Football League and at least four years without European income.

If/when this matter materialises, remember, in 1994 Fergus looked you in the eye and allowed you to buy into Celtic at exactly the same rate he and the other early investors did.  This model worked, anyone hoping to emulate Fergus’ success would do well to offer fans the same terms.

The size of the total capital requirement may be as much of a disincentive to early investors as the terms currently on offer.  If you put significant sums in now and the floatation fails to deliver enough cash to allow the company to continue trading, your investment is at risk.  I hope Laurel and Hardy at Hampden haven’t deleted their Armageddon slides.

Even selling 40,000 adult season tickets for Ibrox at £268 each would bring in only £9m (ex-vat), so there is a good chance this company will burn cash reserves for some time, assuming they pay taxes, of course, which was apparently optional for some in the recent past.

Target closing date for Foundation Investors was 6 July with Q3 / Q4 slot for floatation on the AIM market, so we should be seeing a prospectus sometime soon if plans are back on track.  If Charles Green pulls this off he deserves some sort of Businessman of the Year award.

Anyone who thinks the drama is over still hasn’t realised the enormity of the situation.

Brassard off that Sammi had an injury…remember his last really good spell in WGS team was ruined by injury. damn and blast

Hopefully the two new strikers can cover but doubt they can be that good. …hoping and praying

any news of the other injured players? totally sickened by the injury to samaras!!

any chance that ledley, kayal, brown, mulgrew, stokes might be back for the champs league games???

  9. Most entertaining film I’ve ever seen is the Sting. It is the only film where the audience (including moi) broke in to spontaneous applause at the final twist.

Laurence of Arabia was special too. Casablanca moved me to tears when they started the Marsellaise.

Suppose that show me age. Haven’t been in a cinema since I watched the Mission, which must be the best.

The AIM market can be accessed by start up companies so there is no requirement for 3 years trading accounts unlike the main London stock market listing.

Here is quite a good guide to what is required from one of the big legal firms– this sums it up pretty well.

    http://www.makingaimeasier.com/introduction%20to%20aim.aspx

Note however, that in recession, getting an AIM listing is not a forgone conclusion and that the offer has to be very strong. Further, that before doing so you have to make a whole load of disclosures that CG has not been prepared to make public thus far?

See my article around midnight last night where I question whether a football club with a shaky financial background playing in the lowest tier of Scottish football might be a considered a strong proposition for listing and underwriting on the AIM– I don’t think so.

    Scent of a Woman

    Rio Bravo

    12 Angry Men

    Jaws

Like Shawshank and various others– if any of these come on the TV then I am afraid I have to watch no matter how many times I have seen them before!!!

Been reading snippets of info coming out of Barcelona saying that the football club, fans, council, police and citizens are looking forward to Celtic fans visit next month. And yet if it was Sevco or whatever name they go by, the locals would be dreading it, if at all they were’nt banned from the Spanish city they seem to keep their worst behaviour for.

Its funny how our MSM have’nt picked up on this. Two clubs from the same city, 4 miles apart, yet with totally different fans, one unwelcome and the other getting the red carpet treatment. The LL like to tell us that ‘ones as bad as the other’, and two of our own were the worst offenders, McNee and Keevins. In fact it takes one of their’s, Speirs, to call it as it really is, that ‘Rangers have always had a far bigger problem with fan behaviour’.

Every Celtic fan I know despises the term Old Firm, yet I’ve got a couple of good mates who support Sevco and they love to use it. Like the MSM, they recognise that by dragging us into the unholy alliance it makes life a wee bit more bearable for them.

We are different from them in almost every way and the board should be doing more, like no joint sponsorship deal, to extricate ourselves from the club which must surely now have the worst reputation in world football, and not just in Barcelona.

Bad news re-Sammi, he has now become crucial for those big games.

Life is Beautiful is a great bitter sweet journey, highly recommend it.

Have to say my favourite Italian film is 1900 an underrated epic, it is the Story of a wealthy land owners son and the son of a peasant who worked on his land.

They are born on the same day in 1900, become friends as boys but lead very different lives on the left right divide, it brings their lives right up to date (mid 70s when the film was made.)

Gerard Depardeiu plays the uncomprimising socialist and Philvis is played by Robert De Niro.

Still my all time favourite film has to be the Third Man, Graham Greene and Orson Wells, what a combination.

Have my Niece’s graduation Tea @ 3:00 today so will miss the Scotland game, good luck to them.
