Whereas yesterday’s signing, 19-year-old Liel Abada, will mostly be known to Ange Postecoglou and scouts through the medium of video, the manager knows today’s capture, Japanese forward, Kyogo Furuhashi from first-hand experience.
There will be challenges for Kyogo to settle so far from home. The sheer professionalism of our first Japanese player, Shunsuke Nakamura, ensured his star would always shine, but Shunsuke relied on interpreters for pretty much everything until Celtic signed compatriot, Koki Mizuno three years later. Ange will not need you or me to tell him it is better to bring players from so far away into the Celtic Ark in pairs.
When Ange joined, we hoped he would return to the Japanese market for talent the European market found too difficult to uncover. There will be value there the likes of that guy from Bournemouth would never be aware of, let’s make the most of it, bring Kyogo some company.
We are four days away from a Champions League qualifier in a 60,000-seater stadium while the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council ponder the criteria the former want for the latter to approve more than 2,000 fans to attend. There is no actual reason to delay or refuse, they just don’t want to approve Celtic’s request without handing a simultaneous prize across the city. This is Scotland in 2021.

Welcome again to our new Japanese Bhoy
Get another player from Japan to help Kyogo settle there must be players over there we could tap into.
2000 fans is an affront to our rights as citizens of Glasgow/Scotland

With the SPFL due to start at the end of this month, I am updating the arrangements for the fundraising and prize money aspects of our Football Predictions competition.
Marc (Celticrollercoaster) has provided me with access to the former “Walk with Shay” account so that all monies raised can be accounted for by both of us. We have a nominated charity that Marc is approaching to gain permission and we will provide details on that shortly. Once we know the sums collected, we will set the prize money allocations. At present, I am considering 3 prizes for the leaders by the end of December and 3 more for the leaders when the league ends in May. To this end, I would suggest two separate fees of £10 to cover both competitions. Players can choose to pay the £20 up front or £10 now and £10 before the first January game. Players can also chose to take part in the game without donating or being eligible for prize money, if they so wish.
The details for payment are:-
o Account name: Walk With Shay
o Account number: 15326765
o Sort code: 80-22-60
o Bank: Bank of Scotland
All of this is in relation to my original message below. We are still looking to boost the numbers way beyond the current level.
I have registered a closed pool on the Superbru site, which is a Score Predictor game for the SPFL fixtures in 2021/22.

SFTB – Talking about dugs, I am collecting our new Shiba Inu puppy at the end of this month.
A lovely medium-sized breed from Japan, and one of the most ancient breeds of dog in the world.
Talking about Japanese players, any decent goalkeepers in the J League?
Was in the Celtic Shop, the pinstripe jersey is actually worse than I thought
Departure time for Big Jimmy`s Gathering. See all attendees around 2:30pm.
Cheerio for now.
Aberdeen to get 5,665 for Euro Qualifier next week…
Is it not possible that Ange can speak some Japanese?
How long did he work in Japan?
Bada – I bought the Granson the full strip yesterday as I did with the all green 1 a few weeks back.
The wee man wears it well.
My daughter and I have spent a fortune in the Celtic shop what with strips, training gear, track suits, in the last few weeks but the £50 vouchers helped and thanks to Fergusslayedtheblues of this parish for giving me his voucher as well.

Regarding the lack of facilities’ for the Women’s team / B team — surely that would have been a good use for the SG low interest rate cash that was on offer earlier in the year?
We didn’t need to use the cash directly for this but the extra liquidity would have helped to allow it to happen.
Short sighted again from the business brain that is PL.
Impressed with the new signing. Ange is making his presence felt.
I’ve felt we’ve been too critical of politicians of all hues on here before. However, in complete agreement that limiting capacity to 2,000 given the size and access of our stadium is politically infused nonsense.
I’m sure there are other Japanese ex pats in Glasgow to help him settle. Having someone who speaks your language at training etc is a a bonus but we shouldn’t buy a player based on that alone.
Looking forward to a rendition of ‘so Japanesey’ at Ibrox. Loved that night against Man U

Italian Serie A has banned green strips next season as it is too close to the colour of the grass.
New bhoy looks like he has a wee bit of HENKE and a bigger bit of BOBBY LENNOX in him.
FAVOURITE UNCLE
You’ve just given me a great idea! Get some genetic samples from Bobby and Henrik , pay the scientists who created Dolly the sheep and grow our own superstars!
Cannae fail!
Cheers Pablo.
I hope you have an “in” and a second Japanese talent is imminent.
To your second point
… and Bada’s post re Aberdeen City Council’s approval – confirmed – of 5,000 plus at Pittodrie ….
…. Absolutely disgraceful conduct by SG & GCC.
Unless we get the green light today I don’t see how, logistically, Celtic can arrange this in time for Tuesday?
Across Wednesday and Thursday more people died of Covid-19 in the UK than perished in the horrendous floods in Germany.
The Goebbels Broadcasting Corporation is laying it on thick with the latter …
… but barely mentioning the former.
Back to
Fortunately the latter is almost unprecedented in Germany whereas the former tragically is all too common.
The BBC is a disgrace as a national broadcaster

I see someone has already. ahem.. updated his profile on Wiki!!
I hope the Shipbank Bhoys have a great afternoon 🍺🍺🥃🥃🍺🍺🇮🇪💚🍀
I have differing views and am critical of the BBC from time to time, however the UK-based entity has covered the pandemic vigorously throughout – more that can be said of the cowed & compliant Scottish service, who have, as usual, taken the SNPcult’s handouts.
The German story made headlines in ALL British, European & USA media platforms.
To slate the BBC for doing so is a case of of looking for something that is not there – i.e. manufacturing a piece of gossip to fit one’s own political agenda – a cheap shot!
i.e. manufacturing a piece of gossip to fit one’s own political agenda
anyone else burst out laughing reading that.
i think folk should calm down about the 2000 limit
this wasnt specific to celtic
it was a general events rule which individual arenas then apply to local authorities to get it increased on an event by event basis
that is the process that is happening now
wait to see how it plays out today or tomorrow then moan away
i think the process of celtic demonstrating the logistics of having 18000 folk in the ground will be a bit involved so people should stop getting excited
the club themselves seem pretty relaxed about it at the moment or they would be up in arms about it
JHB on 16TH JULY 2021 1:38 PM
Not too sharp KIER.
Is the SNP showing it’s bias yet again? Will they ever give us any sort of consideration?
ahh
now we can moan
9000 allowed in
shocking
meanwhile ,
all SMSM outlets frantically getting their defelctor shield quotes out now
we understand that the Japanese guy, that nobody has ever heard off
canny get a work permit
doesnt have a valid passport
was injured this morning in training
needs to isolate in japan for 3 months due to strict pandemic measures
doesnt have a suitcase so cant travel
has second thoughts about scottish weather
doesnt meet celtics strict sectarian singing policy
has the support divided
takes irn bru in his whisky
wife is unsettled already
follows gerry adams on twitter
wont get here till christmas becasue of a shortage of cargo ships.
i hope celtic come out publicly and complain
and make sure no government or council politicians have access to tickets

Hello again all you young rebels.
From a locked down Melbourne AGAIN, usual idiots not obeying
the rules, only 18 cases but no hesitation, everything stops except
returning travellers, what a joke.
Anyhows, great to see we’ve signed a great wee Japanese player, if
he wants to know what life is like in Glesgy, he only has to NIPPON
down to BIG JIMMY’S Celtic fest and he’ll be a Tim for life.
Have fun ghuys wish I was there.
