Despite reports to the contrary this morning, as things stand, the prospect of Celtic being able to cancel the rescheduled game against Newco on 2 February is significantly below 50%. All other things being equal, Tom Rogic should be with the Australia squad for their game a day earlier and Kyogo Furuhashi should be with Japan.
It has been two years since Yosuke Ideguchi was involved with the Japan national team. Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate have both been part of the Japan Under-23 squad in recent months. None of the players signed on Friday are expected to be called up for the Japan World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia on 1 February.
Celtic need three or more players called up for international duty before they can apply for a postponement. There is also the prospect that currently-injured Kyogo is not fit for the Japan squad. If the game was tomorrow, the likelihood is that only Tom Rogic would be missing for permissible reasons, leaving Celtic two signings short of a cancellation.
Rogic and Kyogo have been the sugar in our tea this season, without them, we are significantly less potent, but we have a month to prepare. Bring it on.

That’s not the start to the New Year that I’d hoped for PAUL! por cierto
I think Japan currently has a ban on arrivals,CCV could be called into USA squad as well…..if we can call it off, specially if there’s no fans there, call it off

Just a thought about Patrick Roberts
Personally I would love to see him back and given another chance
although I do know some on here say his time has come and gone
In his first year with us we were IMO a more exciting and dynamic team
to watch and his second season was curtailed by a bad injury v Motherwell
then when he was fit again he couldnt displace James Forrest who was in
the form of his life
When he first joined him he was supposed to be the next big thing
coming out of the Man City academy and I doubt he has lost his ablity
just has never had a run of games anywhere he has gone

Patrick Roberts, if nothing else, did and still would, bring the best out of the other wingers in the squad, por cierto.
Roberts has been with
Fulham,
Man City,
Celtic,
Girona,
Norwich,
Middlesbrough.
Derby
and Troyes where he never made the starting line up …he’s 24!
Hes never commanded regular start at any of those teams.
Shouldn’t even be a consideration as far as I can see
Roberts was from the Fulham academy (I think).
He’s been poor with all his clubs since Celtic, and if we’re honest he was only good for us for a very short spell.

Excellent article
Thanks to all who shared their thoughts for us and their experiences and feelings about the loss of a beloved dog.
Max survived the night but just lay on the floor barely able to move this morning so we knew what was best for him and he died in my arms peacefully at 11.30 this morning.
It’s hard to return to an empty room where he slept but the memories of 13 happy years with him are seeping through the immediate grief and will be his everlasting legacy to us.

Re Hun game,
Huns have 2 away with Nigeria in African Nations, that will be at semi final stage,, if Nigeria are still involved, they will be short Aribo & Balogun.
At this stage we we should have bigger squad,
CC
Balogun has been dropped as he is injured, they called up a guy from WBS
WBA
Wee Max Sorry for you loss Hrvatski Jim.
We don’t have a dog, but my son does and we get to look after him most work afternoons. He’s only 15 months old and a wee cracker. Can’t imagine how sad it will be when he’s gone.
Thought there was 2 gone Dessybhoy, what about Bassey is he in or out.
CC
Not sure about him but Balogun is out.
Don’t think Bassey has ever been called up.
The big spenders got Bassey for free – Shirley

Bassey played some of Nigeria’s Group games. Puzzled why there is no mention of him by the MSM. Makes me a tad suspicious what Sevco are up to!

I saw what you did there! Made me laugh out loud.🤣

God luvs a trier 👍
Well from the Scotsman 16 December:
Aribo and Balogun are expected to be called up for Nigeria’s tournament squad – as could uncapped Ibrox defender Calvin Bassey – who begin their competition during the SPFL winter shutdown, on January 11.
Hrvatski Jim…..so sorry to hear about Max

Seen on the media the other day that Paul Hartley was in the running for the vacant managers job at Kilmarnock, then this morning I see Feeney and Naismith are also in the mix ,Sorry Paul but one of them bluenoses will get the job ,my money is on Naismith.
Hrvatski Jim – So sorry to hear about Max.
Having been in the same situation a few years back with the family pooch I understand what you are going through.
My sons girlfriend brings up her wee dog Ollie for us to watch most weekends and he is a wee Gem.
Maybe in a few years when we retire we will look at getting a new pooch. Point being wee Ollie has brought back many feelings again (all good).
My thoughts are with you.
