Gang of 10 Arab Spring rebuked by Duff & Phelps

1001

Comments from Duff and Phelps yesterday that they were not in favour of changing the SPL voting system were intriguing.  Kilmarnock chairman, Michael Johnston, was pretty blatant about his agenda when speaking to the BBC on Saturday, suggesting the actions of the Gang of 10 was a “pro-democracy movement” similar to the Arab Spring, saying:

“It might make it easier for the [Rangers] administrators to get whatever they are going to try to achieve whether it is a CVA or new company to be informed and re-joining the SPL and SFA.

“The support of the 10 clubs might be needed at some point.”

Too right the support of the other 10 clubs might be needed at some point if a new company is to join (not re-join, for goodness sake!) the SPL and SFA.

Back in October last year we predicted Rangers would be liquidated, a Newco would be formed and would be voted straight into the SPL, with only Celtic arguing the need to maintain sporting integrity.  Everything we have heard since has reinforced this view.

The debate among the Gang of 10 has matured so far they see no issue in openly offering to support a Newco’s entry into the league in return for money (which we predicted earlier this month), mostly generated from Celtic fans, as it happens.

We await Johnston responding by sticking to his high-minded principles and telling any Newco they will not enjoy Kilmarnock’s support.

Duff and Phelps still have an enormous amount to achieve before they will even be in a position to apply for entry to the SPL on behalf of a Newco but if they do, they will surely offer the Gang of 10 a take-it-or-leave-it proposition. The Gang of 10 will take it. This debate is not about democracy, it’s about directors at clubs like Kilmarnock, who I believe now have debts of over £10m, finding a way to deal with their years of unchecked overspend.

The debate around St Mirren director, Ken McGeoch, would surely outrage sensibilities in any country in the world so I’m pleased his fellow directors have called for his resignation.  In November last year McGeoch invited Rangers company secretary Gary Withey to a meeting at the St Mirren boardroom where he revealed player contract details.

St Mirren are up for sale and could be purchased for what previously amounted loose change at Ibrox; McGeoch met Withey to discuss him purchasing the club from his fellow directors and shareholders.

For a Rangers director, influence like that should be impossible to acquire.

Somebody posted what TFPLG said after Aluko got done for diving, ridiculous compared to what Neil said. And no punishment for the hun.

  6. Thanks for info on refreshing i phone by the way.

Anyone know what time the Association in London Rd opens on Sunday?

  7. What I really can’t understand is how the hun lauded “psychotic moustache” normally referred to as Graeme Souness never experienced the same level of hostility and general frothy mouthed venom spewed in his shadowy direction as Lenny has. This tells me a lot about this country. Souness antagonized and deliberately outraged everyone with a pulse or who had the misfortune to cross his evil path. His surly swagger, provocative manner and his invidious and satanic will to win combined with his full on no holds barred confrontational style was like nothing ever witness before or after. Thank the lord for that. He was a ruthless brute with a draconian tackling style- sent off in his first game against Hibs for that wild assault on George McCluskey. How many times was Captain Caveman sent off during his modest number of appearances for the huns- compared to the ONE time Lenny was sent off for us? Can’t remember Lenny ever trying to break someones leg unlike that bloody minded hooligan who almost amputated Billy Starks tibialis anterior.

    Wait till you hear this,

    Place ,work.

    Time ,lunchtime today.

    Me “……………………oh that’s good ….who you taking?

Missus ” you ,I got them for your birthday .

:o( gonnae giv me a len of your shirt with the big frilly

    sleeves.

  9. Job done, once again by the SFA, helped along their way by a more than

    willing Scottish press.

The focus from the weekends game should have been firmly placed

    on the referees performance.

Go back and watch the tackle on Samaras, which caused NL to finally

blow his lid; waist high, no-where near the ball, and yards away from

    both officials.

    Incompetence, or cheating….You decide!

  10. So the compliance officer has written to Neil again. Third time in a week!

Remind me what Butcher said again about the officials after his game and Kangaroo courts.

    Smelly wee Hun country…

VP-Barry Manilow-music to count your Council Tax to.

Which shirt ? That description doesn’t narrow it down any….

  12. Kyle Lafferty-” Sunday shows we play the best football” Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The way they played on Sunday would get Football stopped. I thought

those kind of tactics had been confined to the dustbin; died out along

    with Wimbledon.

I’ll bet everyone knows a rankers fan who before the game where giving

it “meaningless”. Now its the absolute proof they are the better team. lol

  13. @Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire,

you are a star sir, if it was in any doubt about what happens in our country this story has the power to blow huge holes in a supposed free country. i know it’s not football related, but as we are( i am not a game goer, but i do stand up for what is right and fair) one of the most watched teams in the world, we can get this horrific story worldwide. would it not be fitting and in no way am i telling people what to do say or think, and i do mean that sincerely, and also to p%$£ off presidente’ salmond to have a google hollie greig sign at a home game, 60,000 people googling this telling friends, on sky telly, internet etc. now would’nt that be something, this young lady and her family have gone through so much and yet still do. expose them all. i apologise if i rant, but if it was my kids, well you know what would be the right thing to do. it all starts from the top and wittles it’s way down into every type of organisation to copy what they see from above. rant over.

  14. Big thanks to whoever came up with “like wining bingo on the Titanic”

Must have used it 20 x already today :-)

  15. It will be interesting to see who legally represents Neil at his annual visit to the Kangaroo Court.

It may provide a pointer as to who will succeed Paul Mc.Bride,RIP, as Celtic’s brief.

I assume that he will be armed with transcripts of Butcher, Mc.Coist and every other unpunished manager’s after the match criticisms and demand similar treatment.

    Bournesoupe…..,

I see that you have had your tea and your blood sugar levels have come back to normal!
