Getting ready for our summer panic

615

We have a curious end of season coming up.  Out of the Scottish Cup and a matter of weeks away from securing the league, the last six weeks of the season will hold no competitive challenge for Celtic.  Neil Lennon has suggested he will, as last season, rest players with next season’s Champions League qualifiers in mind.

The end of last season, however, was complicated by the Scottish Cup Final, so players were spared in small numbers, for short periods.  There is no reason why we cannot give players the equivalent of their summer break the day after the title is secured, on the basis that they return earlier than normal, to build competitiveness before we experience our annual fright against a team we need to look up in order to spell.

Send them away as soon as possible, do a Kenny and play the promising youth players, and get the first team back very early.

Congratulations to Patrick Kerr, who was at table 16 at CQteN, and who has won a Champagne lunch for two at The Honours restaurant, Edinburgh.  The Honours is owned by Michelin Star chef, Martin Wishart.  It will be a great experience, Patrick.  We’ll be in touch by email.

Seville – The Celtic Movement, is moving…

““Look at that old bloke there in the full kit. He looks like a Subutteo man”. Turned out it was my dad and we hugged and shed a tear. We were altogether as most of the guys from our CSC had met him and heading to a European final. Our CSC was 5 years old. We had our flag and we were ready to watch our team lift the cup.”

  3. Hebcelt,

    How are you doing?

Sorry but the feedback, pun intended while scant is all I can muster a present.

My wife and I have enjoyed the seaweed shortbread, very delicate and lovely texture.

She also loved the wholemeal biscuits, I’m not so fond of sweet things.

The cheese biscuits we have tried are excellent.

The fudge I gave to my mum and the other residents of her care home at the weekend. I am visiting Mum tomorrow, so I will find out then how well they went down.

At present I am, ” under the doctor”, as absence notes from my pupils’ parents often say. Consequently I am aff the drink. (CQTen was still great on nothing more than tap water, thank you, DBBIA and Jobo).

Therefore the beers and the malt await my consideration but rest assured, they will receive my full and undivided attention soon enough.

Next week, when we again secure the title, Champions of Scotland, I will no doubt receive dispensation from my medical consultants to sample the “Spiorad na Feis” and the Hebridean ales at my leisure and report back.

Thank you Hebcelt for your generous donation, gratefully received.

    Sincerest condolences to you BRTH.

Fathers and sons. There’s no relationship quite like it. It has everything, and nothing influences who we are, and what we become, more. For those who’s dad’s weren’t the best, they are the shining examples of who we don’t want to grow up to be … for the rest of us, they are the model for how we want to see ourselves.

Yours must have been one Hell of a guy.

I can’t even imagine what you’re feeling right now mate, but love and respect to you and yours, and the good memories you’ll have of him.

You just keep on doing what you’re doing mate, because in you the world sees a reflection of him, and that means as long as you’re here he is too.

    You’re in my thoughts mate.

  8. BlantyreTim,

googybhoy. Your summing up of McCoist is spot on fella but he is with the establishments team and they will not dig below the surface to expose the true nature of the fat sleekit one they will let him get away with his underhand nonsense and continue to tell us he is a cheeky chappie. The fact of the matter as I see it they are doing everything they can to see that newco get to the Scottish cup final we even had ex-Rangers players on TV last night saying playing at home was not an advantage what rubbish. 11. Eurochams67 thanks for the feedback . Hope your mum enjoyed the tablet(fudge) and is keeping well. I,m sure you and Mrs Eurochamp67 enjoy the lot,get well soon. Hail Hail Hebcelt

  12. Lurking mostly but sometimes comment, it’s a nice blog today so far, I feel the sad news that has been generously commented on may have tempered some of the comments, the word respect springs to mind.

It is a strange thing but I do not know BRTH or his Father Mr McGinley but I do feel a loss maybe someone can explain that to me!

To be honest I know no one on here, I do not believe I have actually met anyone who posts here yet I do feel an attachment, a belonging, strange thing the Celtic DNA.

A lot of comment regarding the huns and Dundee United, many feel as I do that Utd will win because they are the better side, I was at the Utd game at Parkhead when we got out of jail free with a late goal to equalise, how Utd didn’t win that game God knows should’ve been two up just after half-time, for them.

But Kojo is giving us the caveat that it will be Utd against the fourteen and I do believe that is something to worry Utd, they are desperate and desperate times call for desperate measures.

But know this they are miles away from us, we are chasm’s apart and it will be years until they get anywhere near us, if they survive that is.

Anyway, love to all and God bless, what a wonderful site.

  18. Don’t know if James Forrest (the blogger not winger ) still checks in on here from time to time but just read his blog and . ….bravo that man !!!

Had been guilty of falling for some of the ally ‘cheeky chappie’ spin in his time away from original rangers but his true faces are now apparent .

Spiteful, vindictive, aggressive are all words that have summed up his conduct in recent years.

    Great blog.

  19. WC lol

More faces than the church clock.

The ‘cheeky chappy’ on question of sport? Pass the feckin bucket! Even less funny than Cannon and Ball.

    Managerial/coaching ability?

We thought of you with love today,

    But that is nothing new.

    We thought about you yesterday.

    And days before that too.

We think of you in silence.

    We often speak your name.

Now all we have is memories.

And your picture in a frame.

    Your memory is our keepsake.

    With which we’ll never part.

God has you in his keeping.

We have you in our heart.
