Greatest fans in the world? You better believe it

1196

Some weeks ago I received a painting of Neil Lennon in the post from US based artist, Joseph Gormley.  We put it onto eBay this week to get our launch our 2012 charity fundraising efforts.  As well as a couple of local charities we will again donate to the Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.  After so many Celtic fans have been touched by three kids, Oscar, Niamh and Vanessa, this year we added The Neuroblastoma Alliance who do research work into the childhood cancer.

The auction raised an incredible £5000.  When I contacted the winning bidder and discussed some of the stories behind the beneficiaries I had to insist he took the painting, he was so affected he wanted to return it for another auction to raise more money.  Joseph Gormley was so inspired by the success of the auction he has already offered to paint other subjects for us and I have a jersey signed by the Seville team in the pipeline.

So, if you were one of those who bid an incredible amount but were pipped at the post (and there were a few in this category), there will be another chance soon.

Running this blog gives me the privilege of witnessing so many great works, most of which come with the request of anonymity.  It’s a real honour.

Well done and thank you.

Do you know what I’m REALLY looking forward to…….. When rankers finally go out of business, the LL / phone-ins will still be talking about them for months ……..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    KOJO

Any time you canny think of anything else to write, feel free to address a post to me.

It’s free of charge, though rarely free of scrutiny.

It’s also rarely free of humour, which is just as important.

    Whittaker?

Wouldnae last the first few steps through the door of ANY pub frequented by Rangers fans-they detest him as much as we do.

And yet he behaves like that just to prove that he’s playing for the jersey?

Maims a fellow professional with a blindsider,a cold one,a snider?

Perhaps the Hearts player should complain to his union rep,Mr Wishart. I’m sure he’ll deal with it appropriately.

  4. keevins made a good honest point: celtic = responsible spending while

rangers= cheating the tax to pay for titles.

  5. 'crushed nuts?' 'Naw, Layringitis!' on

Fraser doesn’t think that ranjurz fans are culpable because ‘…how would they know?’ to graham, keevins and dawell. You bet!!!

  6. archdeaconsbench on

More and more, Dawyll has developed a wee quiver in his voice when discussing the plight of Der Hun….

  7. wishart fence sitting…he knows his opinion carries weight…so he wont offer a yes or no…..thrrefore, by deductive logic, he knows hmrc wont accept a cva but cant say so.

  8. the glorious balance sheet on

Jabba`s wee phone-in gimp “Frank from Dalbeattie” is a hurting Orc.

  9. If roger whittaker had been sent off for that assault, he would be suspended for next week, if the huns are still here.

All the officials will know beforehand that a straight red for a hun means missing the last ever pumping from Celtic.

So there was never any chance of the laws being applied today, or next week because of that.

Does anyone believe any ref is going to let us run up a 5 or 6 scoreline next week.

I think the ref will try to give the huns a draw next week even if it means ignoring tackles like whittakers or like laffatmes on Hinkel. Also chopping off good goals with dodgy offsides thrown in for good measure.

I’m torn between a DVD gubbing next week or the huns being cocoa pops on Monday and no huns to play next week.Decisions, decisions.

  10. Whittakers challenge on the Hearts player is disgusting. He deliberately smashes his forearm into his face looking to do damage

Calum Murray is a disgrace of an official

Next Sundays game will be one of some very meaty challenges. We have to set our marker down early with some crunching challenges. Particularly on Elbows + Whittaker. The vast majority of their team will not be playing in the SPL next season. They have nothing to lose regards very dangerous tackles

Send the players out to put the boot in first

I take it the SFA are running a stringent FPP test on Bill “Murray” Miller, they are aren’t they, yes of course they are..SNAFU

  12. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

D’you the most hilariously ironic thing here………..rankers would not be in quite such a drastic position if SDM hadn’t been forced to spend £18m on players four years ago, following bhun fan protests……!!!!

  13. long haired yins man on

Am I missing something? On Shortbread now D&P admin guy says Bill Millar in discussion with the SFA over the weekend to negotiate on the penalties that come with a Newco. WTF!!! How can he get access to the authorities over the weekend ?

  14. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

Right erse on rs at the moment…..Fud

  15. Well done Crawford on Shortbread, articulate, measured thats the kind of response we want. Hail Hail Hebcelt

  16. I hear Bill ‘Murray’ Miller has added a fresh set of demands.

‘As Rangers (IA) beat Hearts of Midloth (IA) n today and in conjunction with the fact that Hearts of Midloth (IA) n beat Glasgow Celtics. I fully expect Rangers (IA) to be re-instated to the Scottish Cup Final at the expense of either team and 15 SPL league points added to their total in respect of them retaining the SPL title 2011/2012. I don’t think I need to impress on anyone that this a final offer and not up for debate. It’s time to dump or get off the pot you crazy limeys.’

  17. Crawford from lenzie defending brilliantly under attack from jabba. As a celt from lenzie I thought I knew most bhoys , but this well spoken young man ? has been a breath of fresh air.

Scotland IS the huns, the huns ARE Scotland.

    Sad but true.

  19. Allgreen tthinks SPL are at it on

I see no point in Fraser Wishart appearing on phone in shows. He knows where the bodies are buried but can’t say much as he was Union rep for a lot of the players implicated in tax dodging and contract cheating.

He knows more than he will ever be allowed to say in public.

I wouldn’t bother too much with new ice cream supplies for Monday. I think we will have yet another 48 hour extension.

  20. Kitalba 12.57

I have , after listening for a while, added the lik Kitalba offered at 12.57. to My Favourites for when I want to listen to the full 47 minuted on offer.

Some fantastic stuff from The Greatest
