  1. We are being spun a line re Kayal ……if VW is sold are they really think of going with a guy who has spent the last t so years either injured or crap

  2. So it looks like we will have to off load a few duds and seriously

look into squad improvement and your right NL should apologize

for this total embarrassment this result is totally unacceptable

they should be playing with pride and passion not being a total

let down to the hoops family across the Globe

  3. Bournsoup,

    very good….

“WE don’t deserve what Celtic has given us”

Your absolutely right, the Celtic support didn’t deserve what they got tonight from the Celtic players on the park. Can only get better, can it not?

  5. Only positive for me was the performance of Virgil Van Dijk. Hopes his injury is not serious.

  6. Gebhoy

    Disappointed in your comments.

Maybe it’s because we don’t question these disgraceful performances that we are preparing to sell our best players to inferior clubs in readiness to recruit some replacements of inferior quality.

We strike it lucky with this policy of buying low and selling on big a few times.

However the dross that we have purchased lately is testament to the scatter gun approach we seem to have.

GLASGOW CELTIC are world famous and deserve better

  7. Kilbowie Kelt on

    Snake Plissken,

    Deserve ??

    DESERVE ??

So now we deserve to be entertained & satisfied.

I shudder to think how our present support would have coped with the 1940’s, or indeed the 1950’s & early 60’s.

This was a meaningless pre-season kickabout & already we are ready to jump on our club.

WE don’t deserve what we have been given.

God Bless the GREAT Glasgow CELTIC.

Pre season results might not mean a lot to those of you sitting in front of a computer screen and tapping away telling everyone one not to panic however there is a fair amount of Celtic Supporters watching it in pubs all over the country in mixed company and I bet you your last cent that the result and the performance meant something to them

    ————

We can only hope that sobriety may help them gain some sense of perspective tomorrow…

  9. Glad I missed this debacle …got my times mixed up

Sounds similar to the embarrassment in Amsterdam …at least Ajax are a good side

It’s this playing 3 at the back nonsense, that he has tried countless times in competitive and nothing games, without success. It harps back to they O’Neill days. I want to see him more progressive in his tactics and and not just going back to what worked 10 years ago. I think the fact that we have signed so many centre halves tells its own story.

    July 21 2013 ; Ajax 4 Celtic 0…..cue mass hysteria

December 21 2013 ; Celtic qualify for last 16 of CL as Ajax parachute into Europa League…..above 4 goal defeat well forgotten about .

Every right to have your rant mate, all I’m saying is the personal insults are unnecessary. That comment isn’t aimed only at you by the way!

Alex Salmond now on TV, wavin’ the big German flag his wife just happened to have in her handbag

Mrs Salmond has mair flags in her bag than ole Tommy Cooper had up his sleeve.

  14. Snake Plissken on

Every team who plays us sits off, waits for dawdling on the ball or a rotten pass or they do something novel liek pressurize and tackle us then 4-5 guys bomb forward and score or get a chance to because the defence has no protection.

We are not learning form it.

Cluj did it and beat us

That mob tonight did it and thrashed us.

Cliftonville might think they have more than a chance next week.

Anything less that a convincing win from Celtic and we’re in bother.

Balde has not looked anything special to date and nor have the two defenders. In the SPL over time they’ll probably be fine but there is no SPL until August 3rd. We should have played 3-4 Qualifiers presuming we win our first set.

I said for months and months Celtic need to get business done early in and out – Still unsettled

I said they had to hit the ground running – they haven’t

They had to be ready for Cliftonville or whoever it was – they don’t look it and speculation over two players is hampering going forward.

    This does not look good.

I said the single most important thing for Celtic was getting into the CL again – right now I’m very worried.

  15. Clashcitybhoy on

Not too bothered about the result tonight, as hopefully we will learn from it, and, if there was any complacency that should give us the spur we need.

The things I learned tonight were

    1) Beram Kayal isn’t a one man midfield, and when his defence are sitting 5/6 yards behind him , and the other midfielders 5/6 yards in front, then he looks poor, and becomes a scapegoat. It looks like he will be this season’s whipping bhoy

    2) We need to lay an egg on Hooper and Wanyama. I would set a deadline of 30th July, and if satisfactory bids are not received by then, they both stay for the season. In recent seasons we have tried to be clever, by leaving transfers right to the last minute, and the failures of last minute transfers like Bangura, Lassad, Miku, Browczek etc should teach us a lesson. If we are going to sell, sell early, and buy early.

    3) Greuther (IMHO) will be a similar standard to the teams we will play in the 2nd round of champs league qualifiers, so we have a month to prepare, and , hopefully get to third round where we will meet an even better team.

Oh, and we still have Ambrose to come back !

  16. PSG lose 3-1 to Sturm Graz in pre season friendly

PSG Quick News in meltdown. Fans want Blanc sacked, Ibra’s a dud, Lucas is even worse and they don’t want Cavani as he looks like a dud.

  17. Kilbowie Kelt

“a meaningless preseason kickabout” – yes, that’s what it seemed to be for Celtic, but strangely enough not for Greuther Furth.

  18. 31003

The players selected tonight should still have had enough quality to beat the German outfit. Management has to take most of the blame for the tactics. As embarrassing as the result and more importantly, the performance was, it is only a meaningless pre-season game. I’m sure the result would have been different in our main players were on the pitch.

  19. …errs th’ cistern pullt aff the wa’………

    feelin’ much better noo.

  20. Burghbhoy,

I am disappointed i have to come on here and rant at fellow “so called” supporters, what chance has Balde got when the towel chuckers have already written him off? Probably the same guys who wrote Henrik off after his debut.

knee jerk reactions after a meaningless defeat the telling the whole world how crap we are how is that going to help?

    gebhoy

  21. mungolian bhoy on

Neil probably told them ” just don’t get injured. That is the most important thing”

When there is nothing at stake why would a PROFESSIONAL take any risks.

Bet you some of us were a little concerned when Virgil went down eh? Its just a little disappointing and probably we will see more focus and effort on Friday. I hear it is sold out.

  22. Surprised JP Taylor hasn’t been slaughtered yet. He’s surely worthy of some of the blame.

  23. Professor Green on

    akbw1888

If that’s true that it was ÂŁ700k for Balde, you have really cheered me up. He is maybe worth a punt at that. Hopefully should mean there’s more money to spend on some quality

  24. lilys grandpa on

    AkBW,et all,

I honestly think, you and your compadres on her tonight really as missing the plot, yes the rusult was grim, yes the previous performaces have may not been up to scratch, but its all about giving guys a run out.

You want the wholesale of ‘duds’, you want more signings, you want an apology? YOU want to get a grip!!!

    lilys granpa

  25. The result doesn’t matter in a pre season friendly except to 99% fans who having never played the game at a decent level and bereft of a professional qualification in the game have to be humoured all the same.

Lenny will take far more from games like these than a stroll in the park

  26. Greensideup

    Hope you’re right

IMO …if we don’t get into the CL proper VW will be sold and the cash trousered…seen it before

  27. We will have to start getting our act together quickly and stick with the tried

and tested the first competitive match is a week tomorrow disperse with

the make shift sides and players out of position obviously these tactics

don’t work although there is a concern when someone quotes oh look

@ Balde he not any better than Daryl Murphy now that is worrying so

what happened to young Tony Watt then?
