Noticed that on James Forrest’s blog he’s decided not to comment on any more of Gordon Park’s howling at the moon. Quite right , the guys a complete non-entity and wouldn’t afford him the attention either.

‘I remember well the blogmeister offered to arrange a meeting with our CEO’

    ###

There was an offer to meet someone at CP. No names or titles were mentioned. I’m not sure why you think there was any mention of the CEO.

I declined the offer on the basis that any criticisms could, and should, be answered publicly.

Why would anyone at the Club say anything in private, to someone they don’t know, that they couldn’t say in public?

No matter. I appreciate that such an argument will be over your head.

As for the songs, the fans will continue to sing them, and you’ll continue to be upset that they sing them.

    So, win win.

There’s a lot of what Brendan is doing right now that reminds me of Jock Stein’s philosophy, intelligence and humility.

  10. I was at Ninian Park on the fateful night 30 years ago. A plaque was subsequently erected at the stadium in the great man’s honour which read ‘In respectful memory of Jock Stein who sadly left football forever whilst managing Scotland at Ninian Park on 10th September 1985’.

  11. On Tuesday night we will compete with IMO,the best team in the World.I have no great hopes of a victory. What I have hopes for,is that,we avoid a heavy defeat,we make sure PSG know they were in a game, and maybe, just maybe,we can show that we are far better than even we hoped we could be at this stage. If we can compete, make PSG work for every ball, and our players show no fear, that will be victory enough for me.

We can then take that belief forward. In their hearts our players will know how good they really are.

If we can get the draw,it would be up there with the Barca game.

Nothing is beyond us a Celtic Park, but as we have seen in the past,on the great nights,it will take enormous effort and bravery.Go on Celtic,do us proud.

    That`s great news.

I`m sure you will be doing your best to mobilise the Dons troops .

  14. Gearoid1998 I was at the Parc does Princes in 95. Don’t recall much of the game however we belted out a never to be forgotten Celtic version of ‘Roll with it’ after the match. Hh amigo

  15. Good afternoon, great performance on Friday evening – everyone gelling in Brenda’s system, even with a change of formation and personnel. Good debut from our new young forward, looks a real prospect, powerful, talented lhad. Different game on Tuesday but really looking forward to it.

Haven’t had a chance to read the correspondence from Celtic to the SFA but glad this stuff is coming to the surface, really pleased Res12 is getting looked into, a lot of smart work, hard work and persistence went into this. Just hope it’s properly investigated and is conducted without fear or favour.

The SFA’s decision not to have a Judicial Review of the Rangers saga is very disappointing but not unexpected. Their inaction and poor statement on the matter shows them in a very bad light.

This was predicted here for many years, we knew – waiting on the outcome of the court cases was a ruse for kicking the can down the road – now, when the Court cases are complete, the Footballing Authorities are proven spectacularly wrong in terms of Whyte and the tax avoidance and huge amounts of evidence is at hand, we are told it was years ago, we need to move on, we don’t want to rake over the past. All too predictable.

Yet how compromised are these folk, they obviously know their position in untenable and they look ridiculous, yet, they are still prepared to brazen it out. They must have some serious skeletons stuffed in that closet.

Well done Celtic and all those who are keeping the pressure on… Justice must prevail!

    Hail Hail

  16. BMCUP is a total stand up bhoy and a great Tim. The joke he used to highlight needless taking of offence is racist, but quite funny.

Given that we all owe our present cushy standard of living to our former imperial masters’ slave trading and drug dealing, Im sure our non white friends will find it quite ironic that some liberal minded white folk come over offended at a simple joke.

Btw, we do enjoy a cushy life compared to 3/4 of our planet. Our current economic masters are as racist as the old imperialists. That to me is far more offensive than any joke.

  17. People dressed as Nazis at a party organised by a loyalist flute band and held at an Orange Order hall

POLICE officers discussed prosecution of the Sunday Herald after we published shocking images of people dressed as Nazis at a loyalist flute band fancy dress party in an Orange Order Hall.

The revelations come as Police Scotland “escalated” a complaint against an officer who allegedly refused to take details from a woman who called with concerns about the images.

It is claimed that the officer told the complainant she was “easily offended” by the pictures, taken at fancy dress competitions in 2010 and 2013, and should instead focus on the conduct of former Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

She alleges that the officer – and an inspector who spoke to her subsequently – told her that the Sunday Herald could be prosecuted over publication of the images.

When the woman originally complained it is understood it was treated as an ‘incivility’ matter but after senior officers listened to the call between the officer and the complainant it was escalated to misconduct.

The woman, who has asked not to be named, had attempted to make a complaint to police about images of people at an Orange Hall dressed as Adolf Hitler and wife Eva Braun, posing next to two children dressed in rags branded with a yellow star similar to the one Jewish people were forced to wear by the Nazis. Other participants dressed as Catholic clergy with nooses around their necks and some blacked-up.

She alleges the officer who took the call told her “people can dress up in whatever they want” and said she was “easily offended” and “over-sensitive”. The woman claimed he refused to take details of her complaint, insisting that there was no criminality.

“The police officer then said if I want to talk about offensive behaviour I should instead discuss Neil Lennon,” she said.

The woman, who has now notified her MP and MSP, said: “An inspector who is investigating my complaint against the officer said she had listened to the call and was horrified.

“She said his attitude was inexcusable. The matter had been referred to her as an incivility matter, but having listened to the call she is escalating it to a misconduct matter.”

The complainant also alleged that the officer urged her to complain about the Sunday Herald and claimed a second officer also raised concerns about the publication of the images.

The woman said: “The officer mentioned at least three times during the call that the Sunday Herald could be prosecuted for publishing the photos – in fact he kept telling me to complain about the newspaper – and then an inspector mentioned it last Monday when she called to discuss the case. She made a point of saying the possibility of prosecuting the Sunday Herald had been mentioned throughout the investigation.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland did not respond to allegations that officers made comments about the Sunday Herald.

However, she said: “The complaint against the officer is currently ongoing and once concluded an assessment of conduct will be considered and progressed accordingly.”

When asked about the investigation into people who dressed up the police spokeswoman said: “The matter is being further assessed in terms of whether any offences have been committed as a result of the publication of the article and its contents. If criminality is established, a further report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

I have no influence or association with the official AFC supporters trust..but I do obviously mix with many AfC supporters living in Aberdeen. My very strong sense is that they feel as strongly as Celtic do. They are very disappointed in Stewart Milne in relation to his standpoint.

I think they will not be letting this one drop ..

    They won’t be alone.

I’ve heard the fourth official isn’t flavour of the month either. Often gets the crunch decisions wrong, despite earning a packet in these high-profile matches.

I totally agree with your point about the rebs. Sure, we all love them but their time has passed as appropriate at a football stadium.

As you highlighted, they tarnish the event as a viewing spectacle. One second it’s a great atmosphere the next it’s like a game in a public park. At one point my wife thought I was sitting on the remote control.

Can you imagine if BT do this on 6 CL nights? The whole of Europe will be saying WTF is going on here.

There is considerable potential for the club to be seriously embarrassed here and the SMSM appear to be sharpening their crayons.

    I wonder why? Timing, eh?

  22. I may be in Dublin Tuesday.

Where’s the best place in the centre or slightly southside to watch it, given Man U and Chelsea are also playing ?

I think Man U is on terrestial that night.

  23. Chalks off a fair few. Teams, when he’s officiating, often score a goal den wonder if he’ll allow it.
