Its in the interests of us all except the cheats.

The Glasgow centric aspect of the SFA is perhaps another bone of contention for you guys in the N.E.

BT has booked a table for 12 before the game and we can always add on to it, which we usually do anyway.

  6. If the scum on Hun media are making threats against Peter Lawwell, then I would fully expect some doors being chapped by the Cops at 5am ?

i had a peek at Filth Filth a moment ago and they really are so fecked up in the heid, most are in agreement that Regan and co are hopeless etc and should be sacked…but then in the same sentence they say Regan is Peter Lawwells “Puppet” ????????????

If Regan WAS Peters Puppet then can the Huns explain to us why Regan is complicit in the cover up, and was ( and still is) desperate to go to any lengths to have us all “Move On” ????

The thick Huns obviously dont see the major contradictions in their posts.

I like to think that Celtic would have anticipated Regans intentions of refusing to hold a Review, and are set to launch their very own “Cunning Plan” ?

I believe that Celtic have given Regan and co EVERY opportunity to be transparent etc, and that Regan may be about to feel the Celtic Force. I would also say that once again Regan has not only been incredibly stupid etc, but when refusing to hold a Review, did he really believe that Celtic would just say ” Okay Mr Regan, we will just let the matter drop” ?

The SFA can dress it up as moving on or drawing a line under a sordid spell in Scottish football.

But their decision to bolt the door shut on the SPFL’s review into the Rangers EBT years only sends out one message. It looks like the Hampden blazers have something to hide.

That might not be case. It is entirely possible the legal advice they got was that there is no need to take part because it would be a waste of everyone’s time.

But it has the appearance of a lawyer telling his client to remain silent to avoid incriminating themselves.

Listen, this SPFL review is not going to change anything.

Celtic reveal letters sent to the SFA over Rangers EBT use as Peter Lawwell labels lack of review ‘disturbing’

There’s not going to be any titles stripped, no one is going to be led to the gallows and we’re not going to get a point when everyone involved in the saga walks away with some kind of resolution.

Folk have made their minds up a long time ago. Celtic fans, and supporters of some other clubs, are convinced Rangers were guilty of cheating.

If the courts, the SPFL, UEFA, UN or the Intergalactic Alliance decide otherwise, then they will simply brand that lot corrupt and write a million blogs about it.

Likewise, Gers fans will keep shouting about Lord Nimmo Smith being binding, and both parties will shout at each other until they are green or blue in the face.

Even if he SFA did agree to take part. It wouldn’t be the end of it.

Rangers EBT row as SFA snub new SPFL probe into Ibrox club’s tax affairs

We’ll be sitting in 2048, long after the machines have taken over, and Scottish football’s robotic governing body will still be conducting a review into the review into the review.

We could be living in a new stone age after the nuclear winter and someone somewhere will be chiselling the words ‘sporting integrity’ into the wall of their cave in the Highlands.

Some day the toxic Five-Way Agreement will be found and it will be held up like the Dead Sea Scrolls. Celtic have now issued another statement having a pop at the SFA and at some point in the near future someone is going to have to try to scrawl a line under the entire shambles.

We’ll fight calls for Rangers title-stripping says SPFL chief Ralph Topping

However, the SFA have now left themselves exposed to the conspiracy theorists. By keeping it zipped, they are making it look like a kid denying they had their paws in the cookie jar when their faces are covered in chocolate.

We all know this SPFL review is probably another expensive PR fudge but Stewart Regan’s letter back just seems like a man with his hands over his ears trying to la, la, la his way out of bother.

    RANGERS TAX CASE EXPLAINED

As for the admission that the issue of Rangers being granted a European license in 2011 will get passed to the compliance officer? That’s the magician’s trick of holding up something shiny to distract the crowd.

All that will do is send everyone back to the swirling dead or not dead debate.

Even if it was proved to be a dodge by Rangers at the time, it will be a sin of the Oldco and no sanctions can be applied to the Newco. But this deflection still allows anyone who made a pig’s ear of things back in 2011 and 2012 to hang on to their well-paid jobs.

That’s the crux here. It’s about self-preservation. It’s a minor miracle heads haven’t rolled before now given the hopeless handling of the entire situation.

They’ve lasted this long, so the men in the middle reckon they can hold out a little longer. But silence won’t help them do so.

The SFA say they don’t want to ‘rake over the coals’ but it is transparency people crave.

Regan and Co can keep the shutters down, but it won’t keep the wolves away from the door.

  16. Just logged on and read back a wee bit.

Thankfully we have football to look forward to this week, football is in short supply in the first part of Sky Super Sunday as Burnley and Crystal Palace serve up a shocking show.

There was a period of play when I could not work out which way either team was playing.

Hope the birthdays today are being well celebrated.

  17. Hello again all you young rebels.

Not posted for quite a while but when your my age and your dealing

with hormone challenged teenage bhoys every night it’s tough, and

by the time i get on the blog anything i want to post goes into dreamland.

But after a gentle nudge from BMCUW and the fact our young bhoys

season finished today i thought, what a time to do a post, we are on our

own again, Celtic united, the support, the board, and the fans as one, i’ve

never felt so up for a fight as i do now.

After initial reservations about our boards commitment to res 12 i’ve now

realised that clever people take their time and play the long game which

has never been my modus operand so kudos to them.

This is a long post so scroll on if bored already.

Our CSC on the peninsula is going from strength to stronger, PADDYMACOZ

organized a night for the Connor McGregor fight and it was sold out within

days and probably we could have doubled the crowd if we had the space, but

thats OZ if your Scots or Irish you’r the bees knees.

Back to our young bhoys club, wee mhan finished second top scorer in the

under 15 league, him and his big African strike partner scored 56 goals between

them but we still finished second, long story but gutted.

And a great bit of news, if you all remember me telling you about our young

protege who i thought was better than Karamoke Dembele, well Melbourne

Victory came a calling and offered him a 4 week trial to secure a contract, the

wee fhella turned up with his hoops on and was severely disgruntled because

he had to wear a bib which covered his hoops top, but took on established M.V

players much bigger and older so much so that their coaches said ” forget the

4 week trial we’re signing him now ” so remember this name… FRANCO LINO…

if he doesn’t make it then i’m not a tim lol.

O.K was on a roll there but tiring rapidly and i’m sure the indefatigable MACJAY1

will keep our OZ posts important because whatever your point of view we are

going to see some severe shoite thrown our way over the next few weeks,

months? from the usual suspects, but we are now as one.

Bruno Alves has already marked down Celtic’s visit to Ibrox on September 23 as a red-letter day – but fears it could also be a red-card day.

The Portuguese man of war loves demolition derbies but admits the white-hot atmosphere can bring out the worst in him.

Rangers have lost the past two meetings with Celtic and Alves knows that going down to 10 men in 13 days’ time would be a disaster.

Even so, the former Porto, Zenit St Peterburg and Fenerbahce star can’t guarantee it won’t happen.

The 35-year-old said: “I have lots of derby memories.

“In Portugal we had great derbies, Russia too. In Istanbul, Fenerbahce v Galatasaray is a great derby, one that you need to experience.

“The stands are crowded and everybody is just focused on the pitch. Everybody gives it everything they can. It’s an amazing environment.”

However, the centre-back conceded he has overstepped the mark in those nerve-jangling encounters. He said: “I have had some red cards in these games. I have been sent off.

“In Portugal I’ve had one when Porto was playing Benfica. In Russia I have been given a red card in the Zenit v Spartak Moscow game, which is a big derby there, and two times in derby matches with Fenerbahce.

“I don’t want to repeat that. It is not good to leave the team with 10 players in such a really important game.

“But I think these games are the best games for me.

“You need to fight but you also need to play. Sometimes the game is very rough and you can’t play so much – sometimes it is more like a battle.

“But I expect both – quality AND passion from the Old Firm game.”

However, Alves claims his experience won’t necessarily help him to keep his head against the Hoops.

“Well … how can I explain?” he said. “These things aren’t the kind of things that come with years. Either you are like this or you are not. Of course, when you are more mature you understand the situation a bit more.

Before his red mist in Russia, Alves was sent off for head-butting Benfica’s Nuno Gomes in a 2-0 home defeat in 2005.

He was also sent off for planting his studs in the back of Blerim Dezemali as he went for a high ball in a 2-1 loss at Galatasaray in 2014 and had another early bath after conceding a penalty in a 2-2 draw with Istanbul Basaksehir the following year.

Even so, the fans of those clubs didn’t turn against him because they appreciated his never-say-die attitude.

He said: “For me, what I always think is that you need to give your best. If you give your best the fans will always support you.

Alves can’t wait for his first tilt at Brendan Rodgers’ side.

“This is one of the games that all the players want to play in – not just myself,” he said. “It will be a great experience because I am used to great matches, great derbies.

“Of course, we have spoken about the Old Firm game,” he grinned. “It was Pedro, together with the coach, who brought me here.

“He spoke to me about his time playing here and the importance of this game for the fans. But I am ready – I have the experience of all my years before, all my derbies, important games. I am looking forward to it.”

Alves was a member of Portugal’s European Championship-winning squad last year and, with at least a play-off place guaranteed, he’s determined to make it to next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.

He’s in good company ( or club!), though, as The Cardigan, The Gardener, The ex-Captain, The Lawyer and the G&SL have all stated the same, at some point.

Regan was at the Championship in England prior to Yorkshire Cricket.

His move to Scotland was motivated entirely by a desire to step into a key uefa role.

He was wrongly advised when he started, relied heavily on Campbell O very early on and repaid loyalty when the old Rangers collapsed. Their collapse and the ensuing Scottish football mess has meant his football ambition is now survival at best.

He is an average intellect but with a good political sense and limited creativity. Good for the job after smith did nothing for 3 years in role. Not what it needs now for sure.

Ironically he gave celtic a rope to grab in the shape of a passport possibility to England via the championship back in 2004/5 when itv digital went bust. Sadly we didn’t grab it or even explore it.

Seeing we have an Italian official on Tuesday I thought it a coincidence that I had just read a great article in Gazzetta Sportiva today about one of my favourite referees from my childhood.

    Concetto Lo Bello.

He was ref in our first game in 66/7 season in Zurich, I first saw him at the Benfica 3-0 game at Parkhead in 68/9, he handled the 1970 Cup Final v Feyenoord in Milan fairly and squarely and our 1-0 win vs Ajax in the Qtr Finals in 1971. For good measure he was ref when Munich beat the old Rangers in Nuremburg in 67.

Today’s article was all about his sinister role in the lazio 2-1 defeat of Rivera inspired Milan in an infamous scandal in 1973.

Fortunately it doesn’t tarnish my own good feelings for this ref at a time when we had to put up with Bobby Davidson and Ian Foote and JRP Gordon and the like in Scotland. Lo Bello always seemed fair to me.

  30. GFTB

I genuinely think he had ambition when he came up. Snubbed in England but saw this as an opportunity. Depending who you speak to he did ok at Yorkshire Cricket.

I worked with him in the past. Solid enough operator but no creative visionary. Safe hands was how he actually viewed Campbell O. How strange.

His heart was definitely never in this job. I agree 100% on that.
