Happy birthday to your daughter hope you,s have a great day oh to be 9.

Lennon/ McCartney re jock,s death in 85 at age 62 made me think how old he was when we won the big cup.

So with my poor arithmetic skills worked out he was only 44, and guess which Celtic manager is currently that age , coincidence would be too much to hope for but European football after Christmas would be success for us. HH

Obviously you are more informed than me having had dealings with Reagan, when he got the “job” I actually thought he would be very good, as you say he is very personable but like others “up here” when they lie down with the dogs then the fleas will be right beside them :-)

    Cheers…

Seemingly she is taking her mum & dad out for dinner with her birthday money (big catholic family has its plus points :-)

Off the to the Georgian Hotel for a bit of scran (& probably talk rubbish about Celtic to the eijits I bump into)

No it shouldn’t really prove to be contentious in any way but we’ll see. Thanks for supporting it.

Didn’t see the PSG win over Metz, but as with Man City’s demolition job over Liverpool we cannot underestimate, or should that be overestimate, the importance of keeping eleven men on the pitch against teams with a variety of attacking formations. (nb Scott Brown). That said, I did see PSGs win over St Etienne, and see some real possibilities for us on Tuesday, and I am not just talking about in the BV beforehand. Funnily enough it was our old full back Sadie Janko that gave the penalty, and the first goal against the Parisiens, after allowing the great Cavani goalside of him. With the game still reasonably close, the Saints had two good goal scoring opportunities, both after breaking through the PSG defence to the right hand of the box and getting in two good efforts. Think of every one of Celtic’s goals against Astana at Parkhead and you will get the picture. I’m convinced we will score goals on Tuesday, question is to what extent we can restrict the number of chances PSG create. Unanswerable I know.

  7. Police discussed prosecution of Sunday Herald over Nazi Orange Order images…

“It is claimed that the officer told the complainant she was “easily offended” by the pictures, taken at fancy dress competitions in 2010 and 2013, and should instead focus on the conduct of former Celtic manager Neil Lennon.”

Happy birthday to GFTB’s daughter.Must be great getting ‘treated’ to a birthday day out by the birthday girl! :).

  9. embramike says ” Yer team’s deid…Beat it!” on

With the discredited football authorities hell bent on covering their asses and ‘moving on’ for the foreseeable future, imagine this scenario at the end of not this but next season (2018/19) …

    1. We have secured “8 -in-a-row” and hopefully a 3rd consecutive treble;

    2. The SFA / SPFL cabal are resolutely refusing to cooperate with any review, judicial or otherwise;

    3. Scottish clubs remain reticent to force the hand of the authorities through apathy

    4. Celtic are running out of options and patience, then …

    5. BOOM – Celtic submit 2 year notice period to SPFL of intention to terminate its membership, as per paragraph 160 below

    6. 2 year notice period still allows us time to win 2 more titles and “10-in-a-row” in May 2021;

Articles of Association of The Scottish Professional Football League Limited

    TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

    160. No Club shall terminate its membership of the League unless it shall first have given two full Seasons notice in writing to the Secretary to the effect that it shall terminate its membership of the League.

    161. Once given, written notice in terms of Article 160 may not be revoked or withdrawn by the Club except with the approval of the Company in General Meeting by Ordinary Resolution.

Imagine the chaos and what might ensue ???

    1. The Celtic board have likely used their considerable leverage with UEFA (via our CEO’s key ECA / UEFA role) to negotiate an entry to another association

    2. TV rights negotiations are thrown into chaos as TV companies want Celtic included or no deal !

    3. Scottish Clubs suddenly lose apathy when they realise the cash cow is about to disappear causing huge losses of budgetary income

    4. Clubs become very supportive of preventing Celtic from leaving the SPFL and so they collectively reform the SFA / SPFL, getting rid of the incompetent incumbents

    5. Paragraph 161 is then used at a GM to revoke Celtic’s notice of termination – assuming that Celtic would be happy to continue under a reformed Scottish Football administration of course …

I would be surprised if this option has not at least been mentioned in house, as …

    – on one hand we stay where we are but under a new transparent and accountable administration,

    – or on the other hand, we are playing in another league away from the corrupt stink of ‘hand-shaking’ administrators.

    We shall see …

  10. HT will get my form away tomorrow.

On the long road has been suggested by numerous contributors on here with regard to our seeking justice from the SFA. For many of us our ancestors were on the road a long time before they received justice or were even treated as human beings. I am looking at present at a document called the Civil Bill Ejections for 1827 – 1833 from the House of Commons. It informs me that one of my ancestors was evicted from his land by the Earl of Chichester, not because he had not paid his rent, the document makes cleared he had. But Chichester wanted the land to build a house for his daughter. The point of all this…Michael lost his land, but my cousins now own all of the land having built five family homes on the land.

We have wait long on many occasions but right will be out. It’s a long road but it will lead to justice. Some day people will look back and not give a damn about Regan and Co but will retell the tale of how we succeeded. Our day will come.

Kevj. Did Elizabeth Mountbatten-Windsor pay for the Celtic Way or was a joint effort by the Commonwealth Games Authority, the tax payers and Glasgow Council? Not Lizzie surely?

  11. CONNAIRE12

Spot on – Lizzie pays for nothing but Kevj’s other points were relevant – FTQ is just wrong.

  12. Embramike

Surely this won’t go on for another 2 years – we are at a cross roads now and hopefully will get our review. If we are still at an impasse by Christmas then we should have the lawyers / UEFA involved. If we had a way out I would give notice now – sod 10IAR

  15. We might well reach a stand off with SFA. Withholding Celtic players from the national squad should not be perceived as a gun to the head but rather a logical step in drawing broader attention to what is clearly a cover up dressed up as one lone club crying foul.

As has been pointed out before, we can’t withhold players from national teams

  17. Where’s Turnbull Hutton when you need him – the rest of the Club CEO’s should be thoroughly ashamed. What did Ann Budge promise

  18. A lot of balls getting kicked in this Swansea Newcastle match, unfortunately no one on the pitch knows how to kick the big white ball.

  19. lets all do the huddle on

i wont be holding my breath

  20. BADA BING

I presume you mean that Newcastle high flier?

Clement of Swansea is revered as a coach but no evidence of talent in this match.

Have been watching the boy Sanchez and so far he is much like the rest.

Only thing i noticed different from him and (Ritchie) than others on the field was they play balls in anticipation rather than were players are standing.

This is a hallmark of continental coaching.

Unfortunately their team mates lack the movement and intelligence to take advantage of this.

Ntcham has this talent and we seem to have players who are being coached in attacking areas in anticipation rather than waiting for pass.

  22. The Huddle- thanks. I was unaware of the rule which committed the club to supplying players. Thought it might have been picked up earlier here so I must have missed it.

Oh well, it’s fight to the finish then.

Just want to add my financial commitment to any legal action required by supporters although I guess now that Celtic is out there then not certain that this route will be required.

Like others before me here I am really happy to know that the club is now public with their ( our ) position.

I’m sure Makelele towards the end of his career had a falling out with the French manager, retired, then got called up for the next squad, didn’t turn up and was banned for the next league game. Or something daft like that.

  24. Withholding players from the National side or Celtic withdrawing from competitions will not happen.

All that is needed is one other Club to speak out in the same manner that we did and the SFA would have no option to sanction an enquiry. That is all it will take. Unfortunately it wont happen.

  25. Garcia

As I understand it clubs are prevented from taking their associations to court – so the route maybe UEFA / CAS

After that it may be down to supporters to take civil action

  26. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

People like myself owe Peter and the Board a sincere apology ….. I have been emailing Peter for some time on the perceived inaction of the Celtic Board, only now to discover that our Board were dealing in the background …….. my confidence in the Celtic Board has has been fully restored, and that pleases me greatly …. Hail Hail

Hopefully, Regan and Doncaster will now be be forced into resigning in shame and Scottish Football Administration will be reorganised to meet the needs and progress of ALL Scottish Clubs instead of just one 5 year old crypt-dwelling entity now swiftly moving towards liquidation, like another club we used to know….

Yes agree, The Fields and Grace are about more than love but the key theme is love.

The same love forms the charity and inclusiveness that is the basis of club’s very formation.

IMHO we should leave the militarism to those dinosaurs who still lap it up at SW19, Twickenham and Ibrox.

  29. Watford, Huddersfield, Burnley, West Brom, Stoke, Brighton, Swansea, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham…….thats half the “Premier League” and I wouldn’t pay tuppence to watch any of them. Sooner or later they will come calling on Celtic to beef up interest.

  30. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

I have a sneaky suspicion that part of Celtic’s strategy of openly confronting the SFA is to build a case to present to the ECA, not necessary UEFA.

If we can prove that the SFA are not fit for purpose and refuse to reform, then the conditions will exist for our exit.

    Exit, but to where?

There is always unrest between UEFA and the ECA, which usually end with the latter conceding privileges to the former.

Soon, they will have nothing left to concede and the ECA may seek to break away and form their own bloc.

I think that if that happens, we will be invited.

We are the talk of the steamie in Europe as to the Celtic Park experience.
