Toure our best player so far perhaps followed by sinclair despite little coming forward.
Despite the majority of possession Gordon hasnt had that much to do despite saving a penalty and picking 1 out the net.
McGregor, Janko and Forrest need to do better.

I’ve never noticed this view from behind the sofa, there’s a wall…hmmm.
They have been almost as dominant as we were in the first half at Paradise. They’ve grown a foot, learnt how to make telling passes, have confidence. We have shown our skills patchily. there’s no general in the midfield to slow them down, take control, create opportunities. My hope is that Brendan the Navigator does make changes and that they haver shot their bolt, eager to impress the home crowd.

Attack may be the best formo of defence.
McGregor and Janko are hopeless here and giving nothing.
Most of their chances are coming through Janko in particular being unable to defend. Not bad going forward but he is being caught here constantly.
But For Gordon we’d be staring down the barrel of another embarrassing defeat which may yet come unless changes are made.
Since their two goalscorers from last week are off we should be grateful. Melikson is a big loss for them but Celtic need to get hold of the bloody ball and do something with it.
Bitton is mince (imho that is) aren’t enough words in the English language to adequately describe how slow a player he is. Having said that hope he buries one.

This is where Brendan earns his corn. It was a similar performance in the first half of the Astana away game. Hoping for the same end result.

Right, half a job done. Is it the heat or the occasion? We look scared and this mob are just like a pacy Hearts team, very strong and in our faces.
We need others to look at Toure as an example. I also do not trust this ref. Think I will take along walk to calm my nerves. By the way , Big Johan looks well enough to play.
The obvious changes for me are Rogic for McGregor, Erik centre half & move Lustig over to replace Janko. Maybe later in game Paddy for James.
These moves could be high risk though if Erik or Paddy breaks down, but Rogic for McGregor should be made at half time.
I’m sorry but as I see it Janko is getting no help from Lustig. Lustig is so far out of position at the penalty and gets caught out with the turn. Janko makes a daft challenge . Toure is working well in the centre but he’s on his own in there. Lustig marking no one at the corner. Erik for Lustig and Rogic or Henderson for McGregor.
Well, the good news is that we have only lost 1 of our 3 goal lead.
Toure, Lustig and Tierney have covered the Janko:Forrest Sieve on our right hand side. We were set up very narrow and Hapoel have used these wide spaces to turn us.
I suspect Brendan will give Janko 15 minutes to sort himself out but the bhoy is playing on a booking and is now scared of tackling his opponent. I hope Sviatchenko is fit if the change is made.

Brown and Forrest probably having their worst game of season out with getting beat by the ant hill mob. Kanji is scary. Nothing solid in midfield and offering nothing to our attack. McGregor still on plane.

Brown easily pushed of by guy who scored and I thought CG could have down better with making a fist at save but he did save pen that never was.

Pretty poor tactics from the boss so far, 3 goals up we shouldn’t be constantly out manned on the wings when defending.
All we had to do was match them up, squeeze the space.

Never a penalty but at least you have seen big Gordon save one. Janko mince as always get him off and when did we revert to the holy goalie days of no one on the posts.

A frankly embarrassing first half performance. Kolo and Sinclair apart we are shocking. Gordon kicks into touch more than an out half.
Janko is dreadful.
Bitton is a baffling player. He’s anonymous tonight.
Forrest, Brown, Gruff huffing and puffing.
However special mention just go to McGregor. He is shocking. Hiding somewhere between midfield and Griff he has left us a player down. Big Tam on now.

I’m absolutely knackered after that first half!
I thought they were a good side after the game at Parkhead and they’ve reinforced that feeling tonight. We do need to get tighter to them in midfield and we need some bravery. Sinclair has been the only one with the conviction to carry the ball and only Tierney and Biton have been brave in their passing play.
C’mon Celtic please, please, please.

For all those asking why no one on the post, Gordon Strachan has just explained it. You may not like it, but it’s a legitimate tactic. And Tierney did exactly what he is supposed.
I don’t know why Gordon couldn’t save it. Move feet then dive, not just dive.
Regardless, were poor all over the park. Sinclair the only one showing any semblance of form. And even that peters out too often.
We need to decide whether we continue to press high up the park or shut up shop. Seems like we’re stuck between the two in that half.

In a game where all we need is possession, it is alarming how we can not retain possession from our own throw ins, and our goalkeepers kick outs.
If we do make it through, those two issues will need addressed pronto.
The break can surely only do us good. I now feel we need a goal. C’mon Celtic.
