  1. Waiting for taxi to airport at 5:15 – cup of coffee but just don’t know what to write.

Performance took my breath away – the pitch look double the size – HBS looked to have five more men than us on the park – our players like ‘rabbits in headlights…….and yet we achieve our goal and can look forward to our first £100 million/year turnover.

We must use this money to ensure that we are in this position again next year and repeat ad infinitum. HH

  2. Mats….is getting carried away….

    After we’ve bawt Paddy Roberts….

    mmmm

  3. It wasn’t pretty for 94 mins but I don’t give a rats arse. The key was getting through and we did.

That semi final defeat turned out to be bitter sweet. 6 months on we are in CL groups. Who would’ve thought it as we trudged off the field at Hampden that day?

Last night may bring similar change. Brendan will have learned last night that certain players will be ok for SPL, and actually, vital squad members, and perhaps can do a job at home in CL, but for the away ties, he needs more quality.

Personally I think he will make the moves to strengthen. 2 more now, 2 more December:Jan.

Some (many) , below par performances last night ( I never saw a ball kicked live, but was glued to Paddy Power updates as I watched UK Gold:-), however after the longest 94 minutes I can remember, I watched the recording.

No point in homing in on particular individuals, for criticism, BR will be aware of the weaknesses, so I will just thank all the players who played over the 6 legs that got us to the groups.

Some I’m sure won’t feature again, in the CL, but they were all played a part in us having a spring in our step on this forecasted gloriously sunny morning. ( Shropshire)

    Well done Celtic.

    Champions League. Ya dancer :-))))))))

  4. The GB do not speak for me or my politics.

Not all Celtic fans are left wing activists looking for a cause. If they want to protest they should do so elsewhere, not in my name and certainly not in Celtics name. The club had been hijacked by those that seek to impose their cause on the rest of us. I find it selfish and arrogant.

  5. Can’t sleep so trying to come up with some positives from last night so here goes:

    1. We scored 5 at home they scored 2. We qualify, they don’t.

    2. An old man(in football terms) and a young boy(despite the mistake for the first goal)stood firm against the tsunami.

    3. Sviachenko didn’t look out of place despite his long absence.

    4. Sinclair has the class to play at this level.

    5. Anyone who thinks Forrest can replace Roberts will now know better.

    6. Supporters were beginning to get carried away with the potential of this group of players. We now know Brendan has a lot of work to do. Our midfield didn’t have the quality to match theirs although Brown lifted his game at Parkhead.

    7. If Sevco think that just winning the Scottish league is the door to fortune, they are sadly wrong. We’re not the finished article and they are light years behind us.

    8. Hopefully, we will now be in a position to entice good players to come and play for us whilst we wait for our young talent to mature. Brendan Rogers has worked a miracle getting the same group of players as last year into the champions league. The board must now be aware that, if nothing is done, we will just be fodder for the big boys. More quality in our midfield for September 10?

    9. So glad it wasn’t another sob story which was on the cards when Gordon dropped the ball into his net. New man between the sticks on Saturday??

    10. With our season ticket sales and the increased revenue the club can relax for the rest of the season and concentrate on the football.

  6. Disappointed in Janko for sure, his throw-ins should have just been thrown to Hapoel, desperate stuff if we can’t even keep possession in those situations.

  7. The Lurkin Tim

    No idea bud!

I feel we need a young Danny McGrain and a hard tacking midfielder, dare I say a young Scott Brown.

Specifically who I don’t know, but hopefully our scouting department /?BR have a couple in mind.

We have a few skilled, silky players from the middle to front , but whilst I’m certain that’ll secure us 6 in a row, I feel it’s not enough in Europe.

We lost both goals at CP down our RB position, and the penalty ( wrong call) was the same last night.

As for who TLT, I don’t have any names.

  8. What a pure magic day. Refreshing CQN On the bus to work, every minute, once I got to work CQN panty wetters and panic merchants had me up to high doh. Site went off line last minutes and ESPN still showed plus 5 for ten. A crystal palace mate turned round and said to me “job done” from another site. Fantastic result for Celtic despite being out played on the away leg. Looking forward to the rollercoster CL. Best quote from ACGR downloading the CL ringtone and organising for dozens of calls at work today to annoy the sevconians. Brilliant. Enjoy the moment hoops. Glasgow is Green and White.

Ok ok. You have your democratic right on 15 mins to stay seated.

I will be standing clapping the GB in my name and Celtic’s name.

  10. Could do with a couple results ( unlikely)going out way tonight to see us into pot 3.

Ach not gonna happen I guess so pot 4 it is.

I hope we avoid English sides, ( personally dislike playing them though I can imagine a lot of bhoys like to play them), and Barcelona ( sick beating them:-)

Let’s see some new faces arrive. Real Madrid?

Wee trip to Madrid just the job.

  11. Good morning friends (and sabateours) from a beautifully goregaous, bright, calm, dry, mostly clear skied, mild and opTMIistic East Kilbride.

Most definitely a white shirt and bright green tie day!

  12. Twisty

Ah! Those minorities. I’ve heard and read about those. :-)

This feeling feels better this morning than it did last night.

Watched the Celtic highlights again – the ref blowing the whistle. :-)

    Best highlight for years.

  13. I watched the repeat of the game on Fox Sports.

This time with no pressure or sweaty oxters.

It was a miracle we held out with so many players unsure of their role and not even going through the motions.

But then again we were in the right location for a miracle.

We were passive and handed them the initiative, especially when we cheaply gave away possession, often deep in our own half.

So often though in similar circumstances we stumbled and fell.

This time, with Brendan stringing five across the back we held out.

Nights like that age us more quickly.

And to think we will go through it all again 6 more times before Christmas.

Workplaces should be fun today with Tims having to walk through doors sideways to get through with their wide smiles.

  14. MWD

I felt quite ill. I watched every min tick by ( slowly) on PP live page.

71min…………still71 min……,,….. still 71 min…… Never has time passed so slowly.

The site flicked off at 90 mins but I knew it couldn’t be over.

I waited what felt like an hour, and at 95 mins, flicked BT sport on. The cameras were focused on the HBS support all flag waving.

My heart sank, but within secs the guy says ‘ they are in the CL under the leadership of BR” or words to that effect.

So so stressful. I took blood pressure on Monday night. 130/86. ( good for me)

I didn’t dare take it last night!!

  15. MWD

Quite easy to make me smile this morning but this one would have worked even if we had not qualified:

“‘ For the benefit of Jobo. Does he and his fellow safe stauners have to sit? :-) ”

    Cheerio for now,

    JJ

PS I agree re the 15 minute gesture.

PPS Those who don`t agree have the obvious right to seated but don`t give me the ` impose their cause on the rest of us.` nonsense.

  16. A wee question to ask the sevconians in your life today.

Whens the draw for The Champions League?

    Go on :)

Have fun wae a hun day!

  17. I went on that daft Daiky Record page to ‘ rate’ the players.

Stupid stupid concept. Huns all logging in giving everyone 0.

I tried to be objective and gave everyone 10’s , including the subs.

  18. Twisty

Probs the most nerve racking 94 mins since the last one.

Anyway. I’ve reconsidered my view of 2nd goal. How can you blame a keeper for that when he has ball in his hands and it’s nicked out by one of your own players. It was a calamity but an accidental one.

He also saved a penalty and was a safe pair of hands on a number of occasions when ball bonked off surface at speed at times coming at him.

    SK not good enough though.

I’m more disappointed though at Broonies performance last night than any other Celt. Seemed to go back to his old self, rushing passes, misplacing passes and was far too easily pushed off position prior to 1st goal.

BR really has a job on his hands away from home in the CL and let’s face it, likely at home too. Last night will have opened his eyes to the weaknesses he has only seen all glimpses of up until now.

  19. Champions League draw tomorrow at 17:00 BST. I’ll tell you one thing if we are Pot 4 we’ll be the Pot 4 team nobody wants to draw as Parkhead will not be a good place for them to go, and with a wee bit of Brendan’s luck we’ll nick something away from home.

A big thanks to The Token Tim for his advice on my Kodie and DC Sports which has allowed me to watch the games here in Brunei. The font of all knowledge for SE Asia, that is TTT, getting back to me later regarding where to watch the Sheep game in Kuala Lumpur.

    Enjoy your day Fholks.

Ps, anybody looking for a deal? I’ll undercut that ACGR for the ZTP ringtone by 50%.

  20. MWD

Yeah lots to improve, but the difference is, from previous few years, I think uncle Brendan is the man to make the improvements .

Gonna enjoy the euphoria of the win and the group draws.

I’ll worry about Real Madrid nearer the kick off :-)
