We got through to the group stages of the C L with a manager who has just came in the door and new not one player at the club when he arrived, his job was to get us where we are now, if not this year then next year.
Right now we are there, and from there I expect us to strengthen, we may not do well in the group stages? But we will be stronger for next seasons CL and it will be more of a BR team, as I said earlier, from now on every thing is a bonus in the CL, just enjoy it, and don’t get your expectations to high, well this year anyway.

Morning all, that CL feeling is very pleasant. Spend some of the CL money on a decent right-back and a Wanyama-style midfielder and my nerves can be restored.

Delighted but that was a tough watch last night.
Hard to believe we were watching the same two sides as six days previous! Why do we lose the ability to retain possession and build attacks away from home in Europe?
I think BR would have learnt a lot throughout this qualifying campaign, so best case scenario achieved…we qualify, make an absolute fortune and the manager knows who he can and cannot rely on. So far, his judgement has been pretty much spot on, but not removing Janko last night was a massive gamble.
McGregor back to being a squad man, great at home but a passenger in away fixtures. Would be happy to lose Bitton, Johansen and Armstrong and sign 2 higher quality midfielders.
Given the massive income for the club we are now in a position where it is a nice problem to have and as BR stated… the transfer market just explodes when you secure CL qualification!

My wife took a picture of me watching the game last night so she could show me the state of myself. I was on all fours in front of the TV, particularly praying for the final whistle. When it came I collapsed on my back, nerves shot to pieces but relieved with a sense of joyous disbelieve. I thought after we conceded early in the 2nd half that we had blown it and for a good 20 mins the 3rd seemed like just a matter of time.
If you can’t be good then be lucky!
Fair play to BR, he changed his tactics and in the last 15mins we finally found some solidity when we needed it most.
Our frailties were exposed in Israel but who cares about the negatives! We are in a great position to rectify and strengthen. With the support already galvanised, and with the exception of last night, some great football been played, we now look forward to “those nights under the lights”.
I am delighted for everyone associated with the club to be back in the Champions League and BR has to be congratulated, as in my opinion he has over achieved this early in his tenure.
Looking forward to the draw on Friday and can’t wait for the game on Saturday! SmilingCSC!

Watched the game in a pub in Dalyan, Turkey. I was sitting with a cool beer at hand but absolutely sweating – literally – such was the heat and humidity.
Conditions in Israel were almost identical so really, the players need to be given a bit of slack for having to play in such conditions.
Took the ten minute walk back to hotel and could almost wring my shirt out.
That’s the real difficulty in playing in these countries.
Anyway, much to the Herald’s delight,( joy or fury) I see, we’re through. Well done boys.

I’d like to see us get that third place spot and maintain European football via the EL
Why is everyone complaining about the performance last night? It surely shows we are back in the big time. I mean, think about it….
– We gave away an early penalty
– We lost a soft goal at a set piece
– We lost a goal to defensive/goalkeeping clanger
– and one of our full backs put in the worst European performance in Celtic history
This is what Celtic in the Champions League is all about. Embrace it! Smile about it! Celts back in the Champs League – smashin.

Celtic went through the 2015/16 SPFL Development League campaign unbeaten, and they started where they left off by taking an early lead, Ajer scoring in the 5th minute. Within sixty seconds Killie were level, Bojaj robbing a Celtic defender of the ball and sending it high into the net from fourteen yards. The rest of the first half was pretty even, with the pace of the Killie forwards, including new signing Dapo Kayode, causing Ambrose and Boyata in the heart of the Celtic defence a lot of trouble. However in the 42nd minute Hendry restored the visitors’ lead with a tap-in at the far post following a free kick.
Well that was a hard watch. Good to see Eric back to bolster the defence in the final period Hopefully he will get back to peak form over the next few weeks. (BTW, when did the laws change to a free kick every time a defender wins a header?)
The midfield worried me last night. Calum McGregor is a ball player and last night we needed another player with dig in the middle. I think Stuart Armstrong could be a good central midfielder – he has drive, pace and strength. Hopefully he will gt a chance more centrally now we have Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Patrick Roberts for the wide positions.
Will we have another signing or two before the window slams shut?

We’ve raised the bar, we’ve had to in order to get back to the level we think we belong. That means there will be casualties, among them players we previously had high hopes for.
