HAPPY JACK AT THE DOUBLE

JACK AITCHISON slammed in a double as Celtic overcame St Mirren 3-0 in the Development League at the Excelsior Stadium on Friday night.
The impressive 17-year-old attacker struck either side of half-time before Ewan Henderson added the third in the fading moments.
Australian new Bhoy Leo Mazis, also 17, made his competitive debut one week after signing for the Hoops.
Tommy Mcintyre’s side were in control straight from the kick-off and claimed the breakthrough goal just before the interval when Henderson sent Aitchison racing through and he made no mistake with an expert finish.
Remarkably, the Saints almost levelled shortly after the turnaround when the referee awarded a penalty-kick after a Max Potter challenge on an opponent, but Reece Willison dived low to save Sam Jamieon’s effort.
Aitchison showed the Paisley outfit how it’s done in the 65th minute when he fired a spot-kick into the roof of the net after he had been brought down in the box.
Henderson put a gloss on the scoreline when he turned in a cross from Lewis Bell for No.3.
