  1. Good Morning Timland…

Great to see Brendan speaking out, call them what they are…

Great the fiscal website backed him up…

    Winging it’s way to SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM

” Anyway I guess we are no worse off today than on Friday and Brendan has at least bared his teeth against the officials which I have wanted him to do for a time. I hope our ceo backs him now.”

    ………………

    Thats NOT strictly accurate…..

YANG will now miss the next game…. so Celtic ARE worse off.

    ALSO

I think the ” RULE” states that you can NOT Appeal a ” Straight Red Card” ?

I dont know IF that Rule has changed ?

  3. Anyone who ” Thinks” that the Celtic Board WILL BACK Brendan Rodgers in relation to BEATON And the rest….are gonna have a LONG Wait.

I can see the Celtic Board ” distancing” themselves from Brendans after match comments….IF Brendan is Fined/Punished for those comments.

I seriously hope that I am WRONG ?

  4. David 66 A crap team what’s that about,in case you don’t know they are still 2points clear ,for us yesterday it wasn’t meant, another one that is obsessed with Rangers

  5. Had we won yesterday, we’d have an insurance policy for Ibrox – a defeat there and I’d still have fancied us for the title.

Now, it looks like we’ll be heading to Ibrox two behind which leaves that game in must not lose territory.

Beaton has history and had we spoken out much sooner, yesterday may not have happened. This is a man that went drinking in a hun boozer having refused to send Morelos off for 3 red cards in one game. That’s when we should have made very clear that he was wasn’t suitable to referee games involving us.

  6. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Yes we are no worse off than Friday, but there is now one less game to play. You could say the huns are one game closer to the title.

To whoever was asking about the captain, he’s getting another scan on Wednesday and is probably out until after the international break. That means he will miss the cup game against Livingston this weekend and home game against St Johnston the weekend after.

Our first league game after the international break is away to Livingston on the plastic (will he be risked on that surface?) then we’re away to the huns.

Corrupt officials at it yesterday… they would have known that some sort of angst would emanate from the Celtic support and to a lesser degree from the Celtic boss. They in ‘officialdom land’ the blazers, will not annoy themselves one bit.Let’s wait and see how many in the media will back Brendan’s claims that poor officiating was at play yesterday. Now to Celtic FC, how many believe that a statement will come from said club, not only about Robertson and Beaton’s helping hand, but in previous games.

Oh and get up ya lazy shower.

    D66 – Lol.

  9. The squad we have currently, is one which finished last in its europ group, exited the league Cup at the first hurdle and sits second in the league.

Quite how we got here is more complex. Historic loyalties or preferences can skew the argument somewhat. Personally, I believe there are a basket if reasons we are where we are. It’s not down to one man, nor is it as simple as an either / or.

The remainder of the season needs to be viewed a X many cup finals. Ironically, we may not get to play an actual cup final.

Are we good enough to win them all? My opinion has changed since this time on Friday.

Luckily, my opinion matters not and we have well paid professionals looking after things.

Time to strap ourselves in and try to enjoy the ride

The relative points position is unchanged but there is one key takeaway from the weekend.

    Celtic still struggling.

No change there. That has been the narrative for three months.

    Majestic, imperious, unbeatable Sevco

… er, are nothing of the kind.

    🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  11. lets all do the huddle on

i dont mind players missing penalties

i do mind them not making a genuine attempt to score them

and acting all arrogant and being more interested in fooling the keeper than scoring falls into that camp

  12. Timbhoy – settle down, “thou doeseth protesteth too much” my friend.

    D ;)

  13. BillyBhoy999

How many times has Goldson handled the ball in his own box again

How many of those games also involved cheating beaton?

Yet the bitter new club demand that a ref is not given their games.

Call it out @CelticFC you absolute COWARDS.

Both Glasgow clubs are refereed differently

  14. BBC SCOTLAND making no mention of our manager’s comments about Beaton. Instead saying the championship will go down to the wire. One wonders why…..Corrupt to the very core.

  15. carpe diem 63 on

Let’s make a call for PROFESSIONAL referees for the 10th zillionenth time 😎….only feckin Scotland !!

  16. carpe diem 63 on

The status quo cannot be allowed to prevail Celtic …time to stand up …and dressing their cheating up as being “incompetent “ will not cut it …THEY ( the establishment) are VERY COMPETENT at the dark arts and the subsequent cover up ..Time for radical measures Celtic …no feckin more !!

  17. Yes we are no worse off than Friday, but there is now one less game to play. You could say the huns are one game closer to the title.

    —-

Not really buying into this idea. There’s 2 derbies to be bridged before anyone wins this title.

Had we been told on Friday evening that we’d be 2 points behind on Monday, I think most of us would have been happy because we’d have assumed that meant we won.

So nothing fundamentally has changed except we’ve got tynescastle out of the way now for the season with no ground lost.

We may not be in a mood to hear this today but the weekends results are a helluva lot worse for Sevco than they were us.

If we win this, the Huns will point to that loss against Motherwell.

  18. If it was down to most on here,we would be doing the very thing,”Statement O Clock”that we slaughter the scum for.On this occasion,we would be right to do so.We won’t though, which is nothing unusual.Only know Nicholson,as CEO,Desmond, whatever position he holds, and forget the name of the guy who used to be a Labour whatever, but I have to believe they will be fuming like the rest of us.Don’t even have to try too much. The scum have already opened the can of worms,on two occasions regards Collum.Name drop them,in a statement calling for, from next season,Refs,Linesman, and VAR,have to state football allegiances. They can’t complain, cant retract their comments, use that as your starting point, saying in light of their comments, and our own clubs unhappiness with events, blah blah.

No use just complaining about a game.Like they think they are doing, and it seems, succeding,go for the root problem.Only way,but forcefully.Until then.

  19. We are a bit better off, they lost a home game,we lost an away.I am not confident they will take 6 points from both their games, both, more difficult than ours.We will see.

  20. Claymon complains wrongly about a penalty Award not given to them ……

We practically have a Netflix box set made out of the fall out on it.

Brendan complains and it’s brushed under the carpet by a compliant bunch of scribes and clowns.

  21. One outcome of the weekend is that we are gonna be 2nd for a longer time. No more league games till 16th/17th March.

The table doesn’t lie (maybe doesn’t tell the full story, though) – we are where we are.

Many proclaimed confidently that they and we would not drop a point except in games against each other. Yet again, that fallacy was swiftly proved wrong, though it is still a shock for both clubs to lose on the same weekend.

Our next 2 league matches are against St. Johnstone (home) and Livi (away)- both eminently winnable though Livi’s pitch will make it more of a grind. Both are Park the Bus teams.

Their next 2 league matches are against Dundee in Peh City and Hibs at Ibrox. They will be strong favourites for both as their opponent are Have a Go teams and willl not Park the bus.

Then we meet at Ibrox, which is rarely a happy hunting ground, and where their fans will ensure refs are under pressure. Historically we have a poor record there and we’ve already had one win this season so they should be strong favourites.

What might change things in our favour?

Well, first- we have to pick up 6 points before Ibrox. We need to improve form and we need our core back to performing better. We definitely lost drive without Callum, and no other midfielder stepped up to provide that. The biggest factor for us might be rest at this injury-ridden time of the season. We have only 3 weekend fixtures in March- a cup tie and 2 league games before we meet them in early April. But they will have 5 fixtures, one cup tie and 2 league games plus 2 midweek Europa ties versus Benfica.

At the moment, they are favourites because points already bagged are golden. I would be content with a draw at Ibrox, historically a good result, if we can beat them at home in the final Top 6 fixture as we will have closed the gap and the Goal Difference with that scenario.

But that will not mean the league is over. We have to play a strong St. Mirren team before the top 6 while they go to Dingwall and then in the Top 6 fixtures we will be up against teams that still have European slots to win.

I reckon any team that can avoid dropping points to likely top 6 clubs- Hearts, St. Mirren, Killie and , probably, Hibs will come out on top. At the moment, I wouldn’t put any big bet on either team not dropping points again outwith the head to heads. Neither are yet looking invincible against the rest and both teams have to toughen up.

  22. The key difference is that we knew our main rivals had lost at home the previous day.

They missed their opportunity to steal a march….on us

And now feared Celtic winning at Tynecastle, where we have a good recent record, and going back to the top. After a brief interlude.

Because that is what Champions do. Crush their hopes.

Wasn’t a Cup Final despite what many on here appear to believe, no, it was League game against a team who had proven in recent months that they knew how to win games. Three points there would have sent out a message, that we shall not be moved. Not by the Hearts, the Hibs, well you know the rest…Might have done it too, had we went in front early doors, and kept eleven on the pitch. We failed on both counts. Idah failed, Yang failed…to read the script.

John Beaton didn’t fail though. He knows an opportunity when he sees one.

Dirty deeds. But they didn’t come cheap, they cost us dear, on and off the pitch.

You are correct that we should take a long term view on these things not just the short term one. Bigger picture etc. The interesting thing will be to see if anything actually happens at organisation level.

Typically rangers posture publicly to appeal to their hordes. Typically we have made our protestations less via media and more directly to the organisation rather than playing to a gallery and appeasing / patronising our support.

My feeling is our board should be more vocal this time in backing the manager. If only to show our support that it os doing so.
