Helsinki to heaven

684

So how many of us checked the fixture schedule a month or so back and thought, “We can win the league on the St Patrick’s Day weekend”?  Then came Motherwell and Ross County, now we will do well to win the league on the same date as Gordon Strachan’s team did in 2006. This seems to exercise Neil Lennon more than me.  I’ll take the win anytime, although where it’s won is far more important.

Having said that, anything other than a victory tomorrow would be a sign of something gone wrong.  Aberdeen have been wretched in recent months and the Celtic players have benefited from a rare free midweek, allowing rest and preparation.  They will also have more than sufficient feedback on last week’s capitulation to ensure muscles are itching to go.

This month’s edition of CQN Magazine has just launched, some have said the best yet!  We take you from Helsinki to heave, these have been special times for Celtic and we know how to enjoy them……….

It’s written by the CQN community, for the CQN community, and is absolutely free to read online (special thanks to those who voluntarily subscribed, the lights have been kept shining as a result).

You can read the Magazine by clicking on the double headed arrow at the bottom right of the graphic below.

Why don’t you engage directly and challenge them and what they are saying?

Celtic Men of real CHARACTER wouldn’t care what anyone thinks of them, when it REALLY matters. I’d have Kojo on my side EVERY time but we are not quite in the Tribulation yet.

  3. FourGreenFields,I have very fond memories of Rory, lovely lad, quite shy. We hung out together for a few years and then our lives drifted in different directions as he got totally immersed in music. Years later when he was begining to make a big name for himself he was back in Cork doing a gig. I happened to be back stage for a short while dropping off some stuff, I reckoned he would hardly remember me and decided to leave him alone. However he spotted me and once the Band finished the number, he walked straight off stage to shake hands and have a quick chat.

  4. Tomorrow’s another game.

I’m not expecting a huge crowd

but that does not matter a toss.

I’ll be there to see the famous green and white hoops

play at Celtic park like the generations before me.

And talk in the pub afterwards of the game

    and of many games before.

That is what it really means to be a Celtic supporter.

    IMO.

  5. Just read Brogan etc’s interesting history of the Jesuits. A little-known footnote is that when they were banished by most of Europe’s Catholic rulers, the SJs were still welcome in Frederick the Great’s Prussia.

Nice story mate , my only link is Ballyshannon . Love Ireland so much , just a pity I wasn’t born there.

My father came from Leitrim but most of my family are from Donegal .

Think I met you with MWD , CRC etc before a CSA night at Celtic Park. The Brewery place at Glasgow Green.

Could be wrong so feel free to correct me .

  8. Greenlion2, Gordon64,

How right to say that a small idea – & what a brilliantly simple idea it was – has become a massive life-changer for many. This goes for those contributing as well as for the beneficiaries: I’m proud to be married to a woman who now works her little socks off as a fund-raiser for Mary’s Meals, having already done so for years for our own large family. BTW it would be remiss not to note the fine contribution made by groups from Protestant churches up here.

  9. things making me happy right now and in no particular order are:

    Celtic doing well in europe

    my wife and children

the chance to vote independence for scotland

bigots and racists are losing the arguement

it hardly rained for the last month in glasgow

    i have friends and family

i am learning to pity my foes rather than detest them.

    brie de meaux

    laphroaig

things making me sad are and in no particular order

i realise i am a lazy bar steward

the fact people and children are being wilfully forgotten and killed

brie de meaux and laphroaig are not free on the NHS.

  10. FourGreenFields, No that wasn’t me you met. I’ve only ever had one meet up with a bunch of CQN’ers and that was before the recent home game against Juventus. Wouldn’t be borthered if I were you where you were actually born, its what you feel in your heart that counts. Reading your posts you are as Irish as me and a lot more Irish then a lot of plonkers who were born over here.

  11. !!Bada Bing!!

I find it hard that you are not appreciating what Kojo is saying?

    Do you hate him?

I scratch my head at times with what he says, I look deeper and see what he is doing, he is challenging my brain and firefighting so many haters, I would say Jealous persons now given the time he has been on CQN.

When you have things it is easy to be judgemental.

  12. corkcelt

Sorry mate for the mix up , thanks for the rest of your post . I feel Irish and am proud of that , didn’t always see eye to eye with my Da but will thank him to my grave for making me part of Ireland .

Hopefully one day we can share e few pints , on me of course and talk of Ireland .

    Petec,

As you know, I have CONSISTENTLY challenged this abusive pair.

I have repeated ad nauseam the inhuman statements they have made on this site.

There is surely no need to repeat those posts yet again.

They are so vile that I don’t want to have to see them again in print.

Are you REALLY saying that you would sooner have one of this sad pair on your side than those who challenge them ?

  15. Kilbowie Kelt

Are you really wanting me to respond to that, because I will.

There is hatred in your comment.

    Think about it.

When kojo talks football i listen as i find his opinion worthwhile.

    3. Breasts.

    4. Sammi

    5. The Huns are still deid

  19. petec, You rate Kojo and that is your prerogative, Bada obviously doesn’t and that is his choice. Kojo has made some good posts particularly relating to football matters but he has also made some extremely controversial right wing posts which many on here regard as racist. I doubt if Bada “hates” Kojo, I disagree a lot with Kojo but I certainly don’t hate him or even dislike him for that matter. You may dislike what a guy posts but you can’t dislike a person until you really know him. Very few of us on here really know each other so I suspect very few bear personal grudges against other Posters. I may be wrong but to quote the hairy old cliche that bedevils forums everywhere, that is my opinion.

  20. Petec,

You could not be more wrong.

There is no hatred in me for any human being.

I DO NOT hate this sad pair.

I DO hate the inhuman things that they have posted on this site.

If ANYBODY posts that kind of stuff then I WILL challenge it, no matter how tiresome it is for you or others to have to listen to me.

  21. sipsini ,

I already told the Moonhowlers I’m outie, I will check out this forum a lot less now.

There is a job St Elsewhere hehe.

FFM and BOBBY have still to decide who gets the Windswept House.

  22. FourGreenFields, Yep it would be great to meet up for a pint sometime but like any Irishman I would have to insist on standing my round. Obviously we are at opposite ends of the Country but who knows where and when things happen. I’m off to bed now so good luck to you and all CQN’ers. Looking forward to game tomorrow, 3 points are a must. COYBIG,
