Hold seminars on the work of Leigh Griffiths

240

Brendan Rodgers’ words after the Kilmarnock game about there being no sentimentality in his team selection encouraged many of us to think Scott Brown would not start against Salzburg on Thursday, but even if this is the case, the captain is sure to play a key role in the game, just as he did at the League Cup Final earlier this month.

At Hampden he disrupted Aberdeen’s rhythm in the latter part of the game, ensuring they got nowhere near Scott Bain’s goal.  If we are defending a positive result late in the game against Salzburg, the same job will be required.

Sport thrives on characters like Leigh Griffiths, who joked yesterday about Ibrox stewards, who now mark the posts after Celtic visits to prevent Leigh from adorning them with a Celtic scarf.  We follow football for the game, but the game is enhanced by the personalities who play it.  Those whose job it is to sell our game should hold seminars on the work of Leigh Griffiths.

  1. The Irish times article is good.

Are we coming to an end game that English Tories and leave voters would be happy to let go of the 6 counties and Scotland.

  2. If you told a turkey what a wonderful time Christmas was they’d probably vote for it. If you actually informed them what was actually in it for them then I’m sure you would get a different result.

A vote made on disinformation* is not worth the ballot paper it is printed on.

NB * disinformation is totally different from misinformation

  3. One positive aspect of the MSSM`s constant attempts to blacken the name of Celtic is that it makes many of us even stronger on our support of Our Great Club.

Cheerio for now ( and thanks again, Tam ),

I’m often surprised that people trust anything the media say.

In the advertising world we are always busy in December preparing to convince people to buy lots of crap they don’t really need in January and February due to the fact of overproduction and to large inventories.

The fights at department stores are testament to how well this strategy works.

Politicians, corporations and media have been using this strategy for decades.

More Scots voted for Brexit than the combined total who voted SNP and the Greens at the last general election.

On the 12th of December the SNP ” government ” will again increase the tax differential between Scotland and the RUK. This will directly disadvantage any inward immigration from doctors, engineers etc etc. The exact people we need to grow our economy.

They can do this because we live in a democracy. If we abandon the democratic process or voters feel they are being ignored then we are into dangerous territory.

    History has demonstrated this.

how could you work out how many scots voted for brexit ? everyone of voting age resident in the country was eligible to vote, I think 15% of the electorate were not scottish born.

its like trying to work out how many of the 400,000 english resident in scotland voted no to independence.

I want to take my 71 yr old cousin to the game. He’s had a v tough year, lost his wife earlier and he would love to go along to the match and sample the atmosphere.

    ###

Certainly what has ensued is farcical, but the decision to hold the referendum wasn’t farcical. It was entirely self serving, but not farcical.

Cameron only called the referendum to try to sort out internal divisions within the Tory party. He assumed the result would be a foregone conclusion.

The pigs head would have been a better PM than he was.

  22. When you strip away all the bullshit, lies and spin, anything that the torys are proposing at the end of the day is something that will only be beneficial for them, the poorest and the working man will be shafted, it’s really that simple.

  23. A bit of nostalgia, albeit recent.

I watched the last 10 minutes of the 2017 Scottish Cup Final, Tom Rogic’s goal is such a wonderful Celtic moment.

Brendan’s interview with BBC at the end and his response to the question on him starting to fall in love with Celtic, ‘No, I was born into Celtic’, absolutely loved that comment, straight from the heart.

None of those measures were paid for by increasing taxes.

They were funded by cutting other parts of existing budgets.

In practice it meant that the middle classes benefitted at the expense of the poorest.
