CELTIC are poised to land Dutch defender Osaze Urhoghide in a second raid on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Hoops signed versatile midfielder Liam Shaw from the Hillsborough club in a pre-contract in January.

Now they have set their sights on his team-mate who is out of contract at the Yorkshire club that toppled into the English division’s third tier at the end of last season.

The Parkhead men have held talks with the 20-year-old player who could become Ange Postecoglou’s first signing for the club, according to a report in the Daily Record.

It appears Celtic are at the head of the queue of interested teams with Premier League double-act Leeds United and Crystal Palace, Portugal’s Benfica and Sporting Lisbon and Belgian aces Club Brugge also monitoring the youngster’s situation.

Urhoghide, who is comfortable in the centre of the rearguard or right-back, could cost around the £200,000 mark in compensation for development and training by Wednesday who have offered him a new improved deal.

The talented youngster has already had a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon and is now ready to join Shaw in Glasgow.
