CELTIC kid gloves Vincent Angelini has agreed a two-year deal with Watford.

The 17-year-old keeper, the grandson of club legend Davie Hay, has quit the Hoops to further his career across the border, according to the club’s website.

The towering teen, whose dad Tomasso is a former midfielder with Lazio and who now works as an agent, will join up with the Vicarage Road side’s Under-23 squad as he continues to make progress.

Celtic had high hopes for Angelini after he impressed at youth level and won Goalkeeper of the Competition at the Marc Overmars Tournament in 2017 which was won by the Parkhead babes, despite top-class opposition.

The shotstopper was also watched by Manchester United and Southampton while AC Milan were also said to be monitoring the situation.

Coincidentally, Watford’s highly-rated 18-year-old Republic of Ireland winger Bosun Lawal is moving in the opposite direction.

The youngster was recently voted the newly-promoted Premier League’s Player of the Year for the academy side.

Lawal, however, sees his future at Parkhead.
