‘I NEED TO FORCE MY WAY IN,’ MORGAN

LEWIS MORGAN is a new Bhoy on a mission as he battles back to match fitness – to impress Brendan Rodgers and earn a place in his plans.

The 21-year-old winger, who joined up with Celtic in the summer following his £300,000 January move from tomorrow night’s opponents St Mirren, has been hindered by injury since his step up.

Ambitious Morgan said: “It’s been a frustrating time with the timing of the injury, but, hopefully, that’s all behind me now.

“During the last few weeks I’ve picked up my recovery and I’ve been back in full training.

“So, all going well, I can move on from it now and look forward. It’s been just shy of eight weeks that I’ve been out. I worked on my fitness with the physios before I went back into full training.

“I’m quite naturally fit anyway, so I don’t think I’ve lost much.

“It was good to get a training game in while the majority of the squad was away on international duty, so we were able to put ourselves through the paces.

“I’m always looking to impress the manager. I want to be playing and obviously it’s a tough task trying to get into this team, but I feel I am up to it and I’m taking my chances every day in training.

“I know I need to force my way back into the manager’s plans and that’s something I’m looking forward to doing.”
