By any measure, last night was tough on Juventus. A heroic performance at the Bernabeu to take a 0-3 lead, only to be denied by a soft penalty at the death. Juventus are the pin-up boys for cheating in football, Oldco Rangers failure to register second contracts pales into insignificance to what the team from Turin were doing over the same period.
As I watched the pains of injustice on the faces of Buffon and his teammates I wondered how they feel about the titles some of them still claim to have “won on the field.” Or, whether their perpetual fouling and gamesmanship against Celtic in 2013 even merits a memory.
I didn’t care either way who won last night but Juventus going out feeling cheated seems about right.

I have seen enough of Hernandez at Hull and Uruguay to convince me he is the real deal. My kind of tall powerful, skilful centre forward. He cost Hull £10 m three years ago.

What another fantastic and dramatic night of CL football last night was. Once again teams unwilling to compromise or accept defeat and just going for the opponent from the off- regardless the odds.
*Picked up the grandweans yesterday so missed the first half as usual, I turned the tele on thinking nothing could beat the day before’s game, 2-0 Juve, it was one of those WTF moments, then they grab a third and I’m now conflicted, grew up loving Real but not so much now, especially on hearing how our supporters were attacked leaving the Bernabeu in the early 80s, as for the Notts County imitators, enough said there, that is until I saw that scheisskopf Lichtsteiner, cheatin bassa and it was Madrid for me.

A good guy from our supporters bus was attacked in Madrid in 1980 by Real supporting old fans. The wee man was beaten up and had a cigar stubbed out in his face. I have always been wary of folk fae Madrid since 1974 and 1980.
