Is it 1 or 12 in a row tomorrow?

1011

So what’s this, one in a row?  It’s been almost four years since that night in Dundee but when the questions concerning ineligible players are eventually answered, who knows, it could be 12 in a row or more.  We’ll find out soon enough.

The margin of supremacy Celtic have this season means that when the inevitable comes, whether it is two weeks or more after the earliest date the league could be won, the celebrations will not be as acute as they were in 2008 or even in 2001, when we finally knew our long period underfoot was finished, however, this will be recorded as one of the most important season’s in our history.

The methods which were used to combat Celtic’s re-emergence under Martin O’Neill and then Gordon Strachan have been laid bare.  The “crash and burn” predictions that so many of us spent years talking about, while Celtic ‘lost’ trophies but paid their bills have come true.

Tomorrow will be a special day.  Enjoy it.

  1. In the last week I have given serious consideration to throwing in the towel and refraining from participating in the daily trivialities that I have enjoyed on CQN this last 5+ years. For those who know me,and know me well, I am sure you will understand how big a decision that would be for me. Especially so giving that on the 1st of May this year I would have been giving up the opportunity to join the many friends of Pablo to remember a good man with fondness by doing so. I’m not going to go into the reasons why in any great depth accept to say that I am seriously dumbfounded more my the acceptance of and apologists for the WARTS on CQN. I struggle to understand how these people can hold a love for our club as I do.

Tonight though my faith in this site has been restored. My faith in the majority of CQN’ers is once again as strong as it was 5 years ago when I stumbled upon the best Celtic site on the net (well one that suited my personal taste anyway). For that I have BJmac, Owenarchdeaconsbench, Martin42, CRC and his quiz, Four Green Fields with his thoughts of putting together a CQN night and all the camaraderie of the many Bhoys n Ghirls who are attending or not tomorrow. All you Bhoys n Ghirls have restored my faith in CQN and reminded me of what CQN has come to mean to me.

I truly can’t believe that I seriously considered allowing a minority of posters drive me away from here.

BJmac – Keep it strong buddy.

Owenarchdeaconsbench – you’ll find the strength to keep you on the path you know you should follow.

Gordon_J – always wishing you the strength to keep you forever present on CQN.

Martin42 – Thanks for that we reminder to remember our friends and family.

All CQN family who truly matter – Thanks.

Last but not least – Paul67 – we probably don’t say it often enough, but THANKS.

  6. HT,

Thanks for the advice. I remember years ago getting O’neills to stick on a game against them. Only on the wee telly in the corner though cos there was a couple of folk watching an epl game on the big telly. Ended up with a good few people watching the wee telly & not so many watching the big one.

My wife knows the manager of one of the pubs so we’ll probably try that. Any idea what time the pubs open?

Here is an abstract from a email I sent to my pals on a special day highlighting the words of Mr.Neil Lennon. Manager. Subject: Remember these words Date: 09 June 2010 15:04:58

“I want this place rocking again. I want the passion. I want the noise. I want the fans to be able to walk to the ground wanting the players ready to go to war every time they go on the pitch”.

The man has suffered so much and seeing him win the league will give me so much joy.

Rubicon, I raised the question about loss of income to someone in a senior position at the club and was chastised for doing so. Celtic have quantified the issue (their estimate of the loss was less than mine) but as they have said, they will survive.

    Exiled Tim, give it time.

lennon’s passion, yes indeed. I had a direct opinion on the broadcaster’s output this week. They responded in an interesting way. I had my say and will do so again if necessary. Interesting company.

Fingers crossed he can make it, it will make it even more memorable than it is going to be.

My wee brother was over from Switzerland the weekend that we could have clinched it at Ibrokes. The SFA cheated us out of a once in a lifetime experience. I pity the people at the SFA that they want to be destructive.

As soon as Scotland embraces Celtic this Country could be as formidable as Uruguay/Holland, whilst it keeps the Bigots in control it will slip to San Marino levels.

  23. Evening all,

I’ve been doing a bit of research for a project I’m working on and stumbled upon this extremely interesting article from Israel. It has some striking parallels with our own situation and indeed we even get a mention. It’s far from light reading so perhaps this is not the best time to post – I’ll post it again at a later date as well (once the celebrations have died down!). Anyway, if anybody is on the late shift they might like to have a look: http://pierretristam.com/pdfs/wc12.pdf
