Issue 7 of CQN Magazine out now!

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! We continue our campaigning focus on the crisis in Scottish football from recent weeks as well as delivering many great articles on Celtic.

You can get a glimpse of the magazine below but go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below). Nip to page 64 for my favourite article this month, comparing the age of the current Celtic team to some of our great teams from the past. It’s an eye opener.

A special word of thanks to Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, who this morning got Uefa to confirm: “We are in contact with the Scottish FA and offering assistance”.

We have tons to talk about in the next couple of days, Brian Kennedy, Sailen Manna – don’t let me forget to talk about Sailen, Athletic (one of the most important cup ties in years?), Kenny Shiels (don’t underestimate this guy) and we have a Cup Final to look forward to! Struggling to fit it in but we’ll try.

We are now shipping hard copies of the magazine from the UK – and sold out last month (unlike Rangers tickets last week).  Order your copy by clicking on the link below.  If you want a copy shipped overseas (note, seas, not sees) email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com (for Britain and Ireland please use the link below).

Pay by card or Paypal – We don’t do clowns!

You can support the online edition by making a discretionary donation here.  Thanks to James, Bart, Bobby and David, all of whom are probably still asleep, and everyone who contributed.

  1. RANGERS fans have given generously in the opening days of the Rangers Supporters Assembly’s Fighting Fund initiative with the total already topping £100,000.

The ‘Rangers Fans Fighting Fund’ allows supporters to make cash donations that directly affect the club now and will go a long way towards helping secure its future.

Since its launch on Tuesday donations have been pouring in from fans across the country and beyond with a six figure total already reached in less than four days

A spoesman for Duff&Phelps said, “We thank the bhuns for ensuring our fees are paid in full.”

  3. Finally getting to the end of some pretty tense negotiations with bidding partners and ready to submit. The headlines:

    – £8.42 for Rangers FC Group’s shareholding in the club.

    – Consortium to contribute £10 in funds available to be drawn down over the next five years by the club subject to repayment terms to be defined.

    Conditions

    – CVA agreed by Administrators by no later than 15/05/2012 and with a maximum of 1% of debt to be repaid.

    – Rangers FC entirely successful in upcoming judgement on FTT(Tax).

    – Rangers FC fully licensed for both European and domestic competition as of 31/03/2012.

    – Net cash position of club to be positive at time of handover.

I thought I had the winning offer there for a minute until that darned Gordon_J offered a square £10!

  4. A legal bid by Rangers administrators to end the club’s £24.4m season-ticket deal with Ticketus has been continued until Monday at the Court of Session.

Duff and Phelps want to tear up the agreement on the basis that the debt could discourage bidders who may want to takeover the club.

Lawyers for finance firm Ticketus claim the deal is legally binding

  5. So who in their right mind would put a bid in, if you might end up having to give all those tickets away?

Lord Hodge said the administrators were entitled to seek clarity and he would hear further submissions on Monday.

  6. So the Rangers Fighting Fund has raised a whopping £100k! That is 40p for every bear in Manchester.

They are the people right enough

Can you insert a clause in the contract for free jelly (lime) and ice cream(vanilla) to all Celtic supporters who visit the eggbox later this month

  9. The Battered Bunnet on

Rogue, it’s taken them 4 days to raise 1 day of running costs. Fair play to them for that much.

If they maintain this run rate, they’ll have raised a week’s worth by the end of April.

Will the donations accelerate or diminish over time? Surely the £6M of pledges to the other campaign will start feeding in soon?

    Surely?

  10. Do you think Sally’s team talk in Dundee tomorrow will start; ”By the way lads, remember the 75% and 50% cuts are in yer ******’ wages no’ in yer ******’ performance.”?

    Rogue,

  20. Thindimebhoy,

My advisors tell me that catering operations are currently outsourced at what is going to be called Johnston stadium. But I reckon if I tell ’em I am going to renegotiate their contracts they will play ball.

  21. The huns really are the gift that keeps on giving… They launch their “pledge” drive to see what support is available and get around M£10 before closing. A goodly portion of the M£10 coming from us of course showing them how stupid they are.

However now it’s real life time and they are looking for cash and in 4 days they have received a pitiful ( in context) £100K.

Seems a wee bit like their share issue and taxes…..they want the world but at the same time don’t want to pay anything for it.

Sums them up to a tee.
