Issue 7 of CQN Magazine out now!

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! We continue our campaigning focus on the crisis in Scottish football from recent weeks as well as delivering many great articles on Celtic.

You can get a glimpse of the magazine below but go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below). Nip to page 64 for my favourite article this month, comparing the age of the current Celtic team to some of our great teams from the past. It’s an eye opener.

A special word of thanks to Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, who this morning got Uefa to confirm: “We are in contact with the Scottish FA and offering assistance”.

We have tons to talk about in the next couple of days, Brian Kennedy, Sailen Manna – don’t let me forget to talk about Sailen, Athletic (one of the most important cup ties in years?), Kenny Shiels (don’t underestimate this guy) and we have a Cup Final to look forward to! Struggling to fit it in but we’ll try.

We are now shipping hard copies of the magazine from the UK – and sold out last month (unlike Rangers tickets last week).  Order your copy by clicking on the link below.  If you want a copy shipped overseas (note, seas, not sees) email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com (for Britain and Ireland please use the link below).

You can support the online edition by making a discretionary donation here.  Thanks to James, Bart, Bobby and David, all of whom are probably still asleep, and everyone who contributed.

jimmci……. To be fair, they know they are finished, and will be reluctant to throw good money after bad

Just got an iPad,, by the way…….finding it VERY sensitive, just like the wife

Thanks for that: whether they like it or not, it looks like the SFA hierarchy may be damned if it does and damned if it doesn’t.

In an ideal world [I know, I know …] the SFA would do what it could to get a grip on this story.

My guess is that there are so many skeltons coming to the surface that they’re running out of places to re-bury them, cf. the perceived need to avoid publishing Nimmo Smith’s terms of reference and the omission of details behind these charges.

Also: if what Paul, Phil Mac and others are saying about UEFA now getting seriously interested in this (presuambly at the behest of continental clubs adversely affected by the saga), then if the SFA don’t get it all out there the SFA itlsef may eventually be found (by UEFA or FIFA) to be both corrupt and inept … then what would happen?

Would FIFA be able (or willing) to appoint an interim SFA board to allow our remaining top clubs to be able to continue to operate? And if they (FIFA) did that would they apply punitive strictures on the game in this country?

The phrase, ‘We reap what we sow’, would hardly seems fair or appropriate …

Let’s do some myth-busting: tax evasion is criminal & illegal. Tax avoidance is not criminal, but is possibly illegal.

Myth-busting II: tax evasion is prosecuted in a criminal court. The legality / illegality of tax avoidance determined in a tribunal.

A legal bid by Rangers administrators to end the club’s £24.4m season-ticket deal with Ticketus has been continued until Monday at the Court of Session.

    ———————–

They’re going to be busy on Monday are’t they? Isn’t that the day they go to court to get an adminstration order?

  5. Their world has gone. The MSM are still kicking but it’s gone, and gone forever. Management and obfuscation of news is out of their hands, and they hate it. Neil Lennon finally had enough and told them so in no uncertain terms. I thought that they had been given too much scope by Celtic. Respect given requires respect back. These merchants wouldn’t know respect if it was a 20 ton juggernaut that had just trundled over them. The Club should now take action both in barring them from media sessions and by court action when they lie about Celtic. WGS treated them with contempt, and certain posters on here were saying he needed to rein in a bit. His contempt wasn’t big enough for me. I want a treble this season, and I’m usually happy with a trophy and a good footballing side. Oh!–and either the Orcs go out of business or they are promoted to division three. (The football they play wouldn’t go down well in the Highland League, but they have inflicted on us for too long).

Just read the case for rendering the Ticketus deal null & void…….it will hinder efforts to get a buyer…….what a load of old cobblers……they really are trying every trick in the book……..no way, hosie…….actually hilarious …….sheer desperation….

  7. Marrakesh Express on

As things stand, it looks like the huns are going to be seriously clobbered on at least one of five or six charges, while its more than likely they’ll cop it for most. I must admit that my assumption is based simply on what I’ve read on this blog, the RTC and Phil’s site. Who’d have thought that it would be left to some fan forums, albeit backed by lawyers and accountants, to unravel the biggest scandal in the history of British sport.

As far as I’m concerned, the RFC Scandal is proving to be a watershed moment on more than one front. The following have been well and truly exposed forever.

    RFC

    SDM

    Scottish MSM

    SFA

The Rangers support, (ok their form was well know, but they are about to sink even lower)

I will include the Scottish Government due to their compliant inaction.

Finally, the myth of Paranoia among our support has been exploded. One big bonus I’ll certainly take, is the feeling of vindication when the whole corrupt empire crumbles.

Our standing in this country will be greater than ever before, and our club didn’t have to do a thing to achieve it. RFC did it all themselves, well, with a little help from Phil, RTC, Etims, KDS, CQN, Paul67 and others.

    Spot on about WGS

  9. I dare say the huns could’ve raised more money at this time.

But the £100k also tells us that the average fan will wait and see what

happens before putting his cash on the line.

Pretty much potential buyers’ outlook too, I suspect.

I had a vision today of what the NewCo strip might look like:

blue top, natch, with orange sash, red-topped socks of course.

Can’t decide what the shorts look like, don’t really care actually….

Awaiting the bids with beer in hand and fiendish, cartoon laughter in

    my heart.

I bought a tv from comet a month ago. Cracking deal. £1000 reduced to £450. One deposit, and interest free for 4 years. Bad news is, comets parent company took me to court today. They want the tv back so they can sell it again. Apparently the shop has no tv’s left

    Heard anything like it?

Mic1888 ……… Aye, the bank will hand to them…..LOL

  24. So lets get this straight

The administrators are in dispute with Ticketus who are in patrnership with the Blue Knights who are in partnership with Rangers Fighting Fund who are not clowns

The Administrators are spending money in court while the Rangers Fighting Fund are raising money to give to the Administrators who need to go to court to be re-ratified as Administrators so they can look at the bids to buy Rangers from the Blue Knights and others

  25. A Russian oligarch has just turned up and offered a £500m bid for the ‘gers. He was told; “Sorry pal, it’s well after five, ye had yer chance.”

Duff and Phelps have expressed their relief; “You never know how these people have obtained their vast fortunes and we have the integrity of RFC to consider.”

  26. Agent Craig "Green and" Whyte!! on

    Mic1888…

I think they want it changed to a straight forward loan of £24M.

They then join the list of creditors that the huns want to shaft.
