Issue 7 of CQN Magazine out now!

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! We continue our campaigning focus on the crisis in Scottish football from recent weeks as well as delivering many great articles on Celtic.

You can get a glimpse of the magazine below but go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below). Nip to page 64 for my favourite article this month, comparing the age of the current Celtic team to some of our great teams from the past. It’s an eye opener.

A special word of thanks to Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, who this morning got Uefa to confirm: “We are in contact with the Scottish FA and offering assistance”.

We have tons to talk about in the next couple of days, Brian Kennedy, Sailen Manna – don’t let me forget to talk about Sailen, Athletic (one of the most important cup ties in years?), Kenny Shiels (don’t underestimate this guy) and we have a Cup Final to look forward to! Struggling to fit it in but we’ll try.

We are now shipping hard copies of the magazine from the UK – and sold out last month (unlike Rangers tickets last week).  Order your copy by clicking on the link below.  If you want a copy shipped overseas (note, seas, not sees) email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com (for Britain and Ireland please use the link below).

You can support the online edition by making a discretionary donation here.  Thanks to James, Bart, Bobby and David, all of whom are probably still asleep, and everyone who contributed.

Statement from the cousins of William…

“This is important as the club has been moderately successful in agreeing mutual early terminations with players which assisted eight players to exit the club in January and allowed those players to develop their careers elsewhere.

“It is, however, unfortunate that it was outwith the power of the club to persuade some remaining fringe players to leave early as they elected to stagnate, preferring to take the club’s money while offering very little or nothing in return.

“This is an issue that the club will resolve to a large extent at the end of the season and at that point we would expect that payment delays should be eradicated.”

With regard to CW and HMRC Rangers approach to reality is interesting.

If you don’t like the reality you are in where CW is the owner and HMRC cannot do deals, well just create another one where neither is true.

Fascinating or is it fantasising mindset at play.

  5. The way they are going they will need the ‘Beverly Hillbillies’ to put a bid in…

  6. Jim White on SSN getting all excited about all these bidders fighting over Rangers in Administrstion.Reckons there is bunch of yanks from the windy city interested

  7. Time for bed, I hope this weekend is good to all of you, in which ever way you need it to be.

  8. With just under an hour to go, I’m thinking about a late bid to buy the huns.

If the administrators will guarantee to pay off all the debts, including the big tax bill, I will give Craig Whyte the sum of £10 – that’s ten UK pounds, and in cash too – for his shareholding. He makes a pretty good profit and I will promise to run the club in a legal manner thereafter.

What do you think bhoys and ghirls. Do I have a shot at it?

The Chicago mob got knocked back by Sheffield Wednesday and Tranmere because they wanted 40% of the club for pumping £2 Million in.

They make Whyte look like the Good Samaritan.

  10. Fergus should be invited to trophy presentation and unveiling of flag.

Start the campaign “IT ONLY TOOK A FIVER DAVID”

  11. Whyte Knyte C.W. will tonight be singing loudly in The Bar Linnie, located in the foyer of the Bar El Hotel.

His repertoire will include Send in The Clowns & Stuck in The Middle With You.

    Gordon_J backing Neil Lennon

I can’t compete with a tenner. I thought offering him double his outlay that £2 would be a fair bid.

Good luck running Rangers* (into the ground)

Got to go now. Enjoy Sunday everyone.

    Folly Folly

You posted earlier on the “disrepute” charges.

Excactly what was done to enable the charges to be made.

We need absolute clarity on this what was looked at, why, what was not looked at and why.

I think when Nimmo was commissioned it was a damage limitation exercise to leave out what the SFA did not want covered-the UEFA licence issue for example.

The more that enters the public arena in terms of the credibility and trustworthiness of all the main protagonists, the greater the suspicion that the last thing to see the light of day will be the truth because they fear the consequences for our game as a whole.

The SFA have the power to refuse a licence in 16 days on the unratified accounts issue alone, never mind the disrepute stuff.

Refusing a club licence would mean there is no business to sell. The SFA must know that, the administrators must include it as a risk yet it barely gets a mention mainstream.

  14. Last but not least

    Craig Whyte as the ‘Fugitive’

“It was the man with the no legs that done it…”

  15. Deal or no Deal

Mr Whyte, this is your chance to swap your box for another.

Plenty of blues left on the board – open a few more boxes ……..

and the banker will offer you a better deal!

  16. Why Neil Lennon is a winner!!

Manager: Every week is a cup final for us

WITH the glittering career Neil Lennon had in the Hoops, he is no stranger to success, and with the first piece of silverware of the season being up for grabs this weekend, the manager is aiming to add to the haul.

The Celtic squad are putting the final touches to their preparation ahead of Sunday´s Scottish Communities League Cup final against Kilmarnock, but with the intense fixtures this month, the manager is regarding every game just now with equal importance.

“We had a cup final, in our eyes, last week, we have one this week, and we have another next week,” he said. “That´s the position the players have put themselves in, they’re playing on the edge every week where one adverse result could blow up their chances of completing the treble.

“It´s all about this cup final, it´s a trophy that´s important to win, it´s important to myself and it´s important to the players. For some of them this will be their first chance of winning a medal in their careers.

“We´ll try and balance the excitement with the reality of the fact it´s just one more game they have to win.”

The League Cup was the first trophy the gaffer won as Celtic captain, and while he isn´t letting the occasion get the better of his players, he is still looking forward to the day out at Hampden.

“For me it´s been a very significant trophy in my career,” he said. “It´s a trophy that´s there to be won, it´s a huge day out for the supporters and it´s just as big for the players.

“We have two teams who are hell-bent on winning. We´ve had a decent week´s preparation and our players are in good nick off the back a great result last week, so I think they´re looking forward to getting out there and playing on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, the manager went on to reveal there is no new injuries worries for the game at the weekend
