Issue 7 of CQN Magazine out now!

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! We continue our campaigning focus on the crisis in Scottish football from recent weeks as well as delivering many great articles on Celtic.

You can get a glimpse of the magazine below but go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below). Nip to page 64 for my favourite article this month, comparing the age of the current Celtic team to some of our great teams from the past. It’s an eye opener.

A special word of thanks to Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, who this morning got Uefa to confirm: “We are in contact with the Scottish FA and offering assistance”.

We have tons to talk about in the next couple of days, Brian Kennedy, Sailen Manna – don’t let me forget to talk about Sailen, Athletic (one of the most important cup ties in years?), Kenny Shiels (don’t underestimate this guy) and we have a Cup Final to look forward to! Struggling to fit it in but we’ll try.

We are now shipping hard copies of the magazine from the UK – and sold out last month (unlike Rangers tickets last week).  Order your copy by clicking on the link below.  If you want a copy shipped overseas (note, seas, not sees) email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com (for Britain and Ireland please use the link below).

Pay by card or Paypal – We don’t do clowns!

You can support the online edition by making a discretionary donation here.  Thanks to James, Bart, Bobby and David, all of whom are probably still asleep, and everyone who contributed.

Wasn’t Her Majesty spotted wearing green…. in Ireland? Shortly after being seen – in public – with the Pope??!??!

Isn’t Rangers’ chief tormentor “Her Majesty’s” Revenue and Customs?

Didn’t Celtic win Her Majesty’s Coronation Cup?

rt rev david hay – That sounds like something worthy of a FOI request.

If Strathclyde Police are charging Celtic more than they are charging Rangers we should kick up a fuss about it. (thumbsup)

the game on the 25th looking unlikely due to policing believe it or not more than anything else.

if they can’t pay the police, and so can’t fulfill their fixtures, then that’s 3-0 all season, -10 points and relegation, right?

I´m sure many of you guys remember when cup finals against Rankers there were 134,000 all ticket crowds and you couldn´t get a ticket for love nor money. The atmosphere was just incredible.

I was at the Celtic v Aberdeen Cup Final in 67 when we won everything.

Another 134,000 & the same at the european cup Semi against the great Leeds united.Beat them home & away. They moved the 2nd leg to Hampden & there was over a quarter of a million applications for tickets.

those were the days my friends.

  11. Never rains but it pours in Poundland…

Oh! and what a shrewd signing Bartley turned out to be, played about 6 games all season. Lol!!

RANGERS manager Ally McCoist faces the biggest defensive crisis of his tenure this weekend as his team goes looking for a win at Dundee United.

The Light Blues will go to Tannadice seeking a victory which would prevent Celtic from winning the league at Ibrox next Sunday regardless of the result.

But they will arrive on Tayside without SIX senior stoppers as four of them are ruled out with injuries.

Carlos Bocanegra and Dorin Goian are the other two as they serve one-match suspensions following yellow cards against Hearts on March 3.

Steven Whittaker returned to full training this week after a hernia operation but isn’t ready yet to play and Kyle Bartley is out with a knee problem.

On top of that, Sasa Papac is available again after a ban but is crocked as well along with Kirk Broadfoot.

That means Ross Perry, Lee McCulloch, Rhys McCabe and Maurice Edu are all contenders to join Lee Wallace at the back.

Reserve player Chris Hegarty should be on the bench while the likes of Kyle McAusland could step up from the under-19s with no youth game being played this weekend

  12. Lennon n Mc....Mjallby on

I never listened back to Clyde from last night for the reason that it is no longer an open forum if panelists are reading pre prepared statements on a subject they will no longer ask questions on.

Daryll King has compromised the openness of the shows integrity.

(note my choice of words re integrity).

  13. philvisreturns on

ASonOfDan – At this point, I’m almost tempted to flinch and look away from Rangers’ torments.

It’s like one of those torture films like Saw or Hostel, or early David Cronenberg, or Clive Barker’s Hellraiser.

At any moment you expect HMRC to leap out of the lake and drag Rangers to a watery doom.

My working theory is that Ibrox was built on a Red Indian burial ground, using recycled wood from the Amityville house and planted with grass from the Overlook Hotel gardens. (thumbsup)

  14. So prominent people at Celtic hold positions at the SFA and SPL. Celtic supporters can be found in senior political, business and legal circles. Celtic Quick News and Rangers Tax Case are run by “rhabid thims”.

And now the unseen hand of Timmy has forced Steve Conroy out of refereeing.

If this blows up then hopefully we can make it out with just a 25 point deduction and 2 year Euro ban.

Remember the Hampden Leeds semi well, standing at the hun end, borrowed

£50 from my dad to go to Milan. Also the ’69 cup final 134,000, stuffed the hun

    4-0. Happy days

    Hail! Hail!

  16. Surprised at King’s statement but also surprised at the reaction. I haven’t read through all the posts but what he was really saying is that lawyers have issued a letter warning him that he will be taken to court if he says anything else.

    Simple as that.

WHOSE lawyers is the question that really interests me.

Also, could it be significant that this has happened after Ricksen was exposed as the player who showed him a copy of the documents?

  17. ibleedgreenandwhite1 on

    Lennon n Mc….Mjallby

Agreed,,,but have to say that Snyde has never been about debate or what the callers opinion’s are,its all about the panelists patronising, abusing and telling us mere mortals how it is,because they are the experts after all!!

    Hail hail

  18. If this whole sorry mess meant that the SFA were suspended from UEFA, Scottish clubs banned from European competition but a complete root and branch overhaul, including historic corrections and appropriate punishments, am I the only one thinking that price might be worth paying?

Certainly, it would be unjust on Celtic, the players and management but maybe the prize of a fair administration would be worth the pain.

RaRaRasputin – This goes way deeper than you think.

Evidence unearthed by loyal blue sleuths on the Follow Follow website suggests that there may even be Celtic supporters in the Scottish Parliament, and the Mother of Parliaments itself.

This conspiracy extends into all walks of life: even lawyers, doctors, businessmen, academics, and popular entertainers are linked with the great Celtic conspiracy.

No wonder the Hidden Hand of Timmydom is giving the most quintessentially British of all clubs such a humiliating skelping.

I don’t think all Swiss Clubs were punished for Sion’s misdeeds. However there was no evidence that the Swiss FA (are they also the SFA???) had taken their eye off the ball regarding Sion.

The difference could be that the SFA may have been negligent or indeed complicit. I hope they are found to have been simply duped by Rangers and one or two individuals working dual roles for club and National association.

I would not accept Celtic being banned as a result of their misdeeds in any way useful. Punish the miscreants and allow the other clubs to keep doing what they have been doing – playing it straight.

  25. RobertTressell

If I recall correctly, the Swiss clubs were all threatened with expulsion and exerted pressure on the Swiss FA to deal with Sion according to UEFA rules to avoid that sanction.

Similar pressure from Scottish clubs would be welcome but hasn’t been apparent thus far.
